  1. 2000 Impreza Outback Sport 6" SJR lift Forester XT struts 29" m/ts going to be dual ranged when I get my spoob together
  2. I've had my 215/65/16 grabbers on both my forester and obs. I love them in all conditions. I don't have them studded, but I imagine they would be even better. In some snow situations it gets a little hairy, but overall I feel plenty safe and confident driving in the snow with them.
  3. what he said! lots of people making them
  4. 235/75/15. got the wheels on summitracing.com and the adapters are on ebay. they are the 5x100 ---> 5x4.5 the wheels are cragar soft 8's 5x4.5, 3.75" backspace 15x7". I think you're gonna want a body lift, you can buy a 4" kit with strut tops and subframe spacers for a reasonable price.
  5. pics or it didn't happen! The thing that usually makes me mad about work is working in my favor this time! One week schedules means I can request days off that are just over a week away! So i'll be there.. I'll bring treats for anybody that lets me ride along!
  6. I might be there to ride along depending on if I work or not!
  7. So I recently moved to Bellingham and rode along on my first NWWO wheeling trip and I'm beyond psyched to get my car out there. I had hoped to already be dual ranged by now, but things came up so it's gonna be happening in the coming months. I broke 4 wheel studs on the way down to WCSS15 so I didn't get a chance to play in the mud pit, but got everything put back together and fixed some alignment issues. I need to find a place to keep the car as its at my parents house and I rarely go home now to play with it. one thing I've done to it recently was paint it! home depot lawn patio furniture paint "hammered brown"
  8. Sick man! makes me want to lift my forester too. You don't have any CV trouble with that lift do ya? Those camp sites are awesome!
  9. looks awesome man! I dig what you're doin with it! definitely gonna take some mental notes!
  10. How my 2000 impreza looks today From the summer at Lake Cushman when I first lifted it on the SJR 6"
  11. Sounds good Jeff! I'm pumped! I'll buy that d/r off ya when you finally give up on selling the car whole hahah don't have space for another subie in my parents driveway.
  12. Im planning to show up as long as I can get a ride with someone. It'll be my first real wheeling trip. My car is fudged up and needs a dual range before I drive.
  13. Thats crazy the traverse links were breaking in that spot! neither of mine has gone yet! hope you got it figured out! the more I see your car, the more I like it man! keep thrashin on her
  14. Hi there, If you do a 6" body lift there is no need to cut fenders like I have, you can run 235's if you bash the hell out of the inner fenders. I have just stopped rubbing completely. took a lot of hammering. As for buying vs building a lift. If you are a decent welder, you can do it all yourself. if you arent a welder, but have a drill press and a cutting saw you can build the subframe spacers yourself and save a couple hundred bucks. Ive been having constant problems with my suspension geometry, breaking part after part, so I'm getting new wheels with lower offset and lowering the car 2 inches to make it MORE reliable. Still will have more clearance than most SUVs. If you want to be able to rip around gravel roads don't lift it. sway bars will just hold you back if you do though.
  15. woop woop. picture time. on the way to the Big Northwest meet! camping at lake cushman a few weeks ago
  16. oh man I had such a blast yesterday! It was my first subie meet ever. I can't wait for when my car is finished so I can take best offroad in the show haha anyways, my phone died quickly after getting to the event, so the only picture I have is one my buddy took on the way there.
  17. Gotcha! Still done know if I wanna weld the rear diff or not. Might just go with a mechanical LSD so I won't kill myself driving up to the mountains haha
  18. Oh wow its been a while since my last post.. Thanks for the props, it means a lot. The countryman belongs to the old man. I haven't been doing much with the car except driving it to work on occasion. I've been fiddling with getting the snorkel back on, but I have been busy with a new job and trying to buy a house. I WILL finish her and romp. I'm going to start looking for a tranny and start collecting some of the other parts to make her work. I'll post recent pics soon, I promise!
  19. I'd be really interested in that. I'm considering the aus dual range again for regular drivability, and with stronger axles I could take the car on longer trips without worrying so much about breaking spoob. I almost got the car driving, but broke a brake hard line from not supporting the hub when changing the axle. I adjusted the clutch cable, but won't know if it worked till I get that line fixed up :blowheadoff:
  20. Thanks man, you can definitely do what I did to mine on yours, same lift kit and all. I'd suggest something in the 4" range. Maybe 4" strut/4" sub drop to keep the geometry the same. Also shoot for a 27-28" mud tire. Keep the stress on the cv's low. This isn't my dd so I can get gnar with it haha
  21. seemed legitimate to me ^ ^ ^ ^ just get different offset wheels man. scooby, this forester is sweet! keep it up!
  22. just need to adjust the clutch cable and change the rear axle and I'll be able to cruise a bit!
  23. I ended up cutting about 2-3" off the fenders. have you chopped your fenders? its worth it IMO. I have loads of tire clearance vertically and laterally. From my 2 minute test drive the other day, the only place my tires rub are where yours are, on the back side of the front fenders. I got my car back in the garage, so on my day off i'll take my mini sledge and grinder and see how much that helps. I have cragar soft 8's - 15"x7" with a 3.75 backspacing with 1" hub adapters for the 5x4.5 bolt pattern. They fit just how I wanted them to. they give the car a mean look and looks like it will be pretty stable as well. I have about 1.5" of space from the spring perch (don't mind the poor angle on the picture though haha, there is loads of room)
