  1. I wish my stock 2.2 airbox fit! Mine doesn't have a cutout in it so it doesn't sit flush like it used to, so now I'm rocking the airbox off older subies that sits by the pass fender and has the hose to the TB.
  2. huh I will look into that! I would like to drive it around while I save up for the tranny swap. Im going to start collecting the D/R parts and I'll holler when I'm ready!
  3. Finally got my rig out of the garage, might be going back in soon for a D/R swap Forester XT struts 6" SJR lift 235/75/15 Hankook Dynapro MT on cragar soft 8s WRX sedan front axles It sits so much higher than my stock forester haha I will repost pics when I get it on some trails!
  4. 6" SJR lift and Forester Struts, 235/75/15 hankook dynapros I need to do some clearancing
  5. I got it out of the garage today! Took Northcoast's advice and cut some of the metal off the back side of the tranny tunnel and it shifts now. I tried taking it around the neighborhood and noticed the clutch slipping really bad. it was so bad that when I tried driving up a small hill it just quit, and a guy was nice enough to tow me back to my house. It was fine when i pulled it into the garage a month ago.. I'll probably just hold off on the clutch till I do the dual range swap. My question, will I be burning up clutches on the regular with this thing now?! I know the tires are big and all but it doesn't even want to try to move. Is there a way to swap 4.11 gears into a GL d/r and match with a 4.11 rear diff? anyways, here are some pics Im replacing a broken rear axle today and might break out the BFH to do a little tire clearancing. my goal to drive it today was accomplished lol its so weird having to step up into a car. awesome.
  6. I got the shift linkage to work by cutting the bak end of the tranny tunnel a bit. Now I can shift but I MIGHT need a new clutch. It was fine going into the garage a month ago but I noticed it felt like it was slipping. I need to replace a rear axle too. I tried taking it around the neighborhood and it wouldn't go back up the hill so I had to get a tow back to my house lol. I guess it's d/r time
  7. This has been about a month in the making, lots of little snags, still trying to figure out the shift linkage. Damn this is gonna be pretty tall.. Yeah it is pretty tall.. Sweet jezusssssss, wider than your mothers hips! I think it looks so awesome with the cragars and 29's. it dwarfs my buddies strut lifted coupe muahahaha
  8. It is very close to working now. it can kind of shift now, but I think I need to shorten it a little bit to shorten the throw. 2nd, 4th and Reverse arent quite engaging because the shifter shaft is hitting the back end of the square hole in the car (idk name) but other than that the car is ready to go. I threw the 29's on and it looks mean as spoob!!! i'm pumped. trying to drive it later today!!!
  9. That would be awesome man. That's literally the only thing keeping my beast off the road right now! Everything else can be tweaked as i go. i still have 1" strut spacers I might throw on the rear because of th gnarly rump roast sag but I want to drive around and see if it settles in the front a bit first

  13. How exactly is it lowered? Can you take a pic of yours? Scott gave me one that a guy extended but the linkage is binding or something. Won't go into any gears. I might just buy a stock one from the p&p and copy you

    Tahuya

just buy some forester struts from the pick and pull and get an easy 2-3" and some peace of mind! I went there with forester xt struts and 27" tires so I was about 4.5" over stock and I didn't get stuck, that was in the summertime though.. I bet its pretty slick back there now.

    Tahuya

yeah you should be fine. Tahuya is a pretty easy loop. I've been there a few times. My only advice for a stock rig is to not drive through mud lake lol. the benefits vs the risks don't add up. I'd be interested in heading out there some time when I get my lift all done.
  16. ah I see. well i'm making a trip up to bellingham to see Scott tomorrow and we're going to do a trade for the modified linkage and dogbone for my stock steering knuckle and linkage. the steering shaft was extended by Scott, so I'm guessing its done right haha. I WANT TO DRIVE MY CAR ALREADY
  17. ok bad rump roast. sounds good. How are you guys extending your shift linkages? I'm trying to put mine together on the top half to see how long I have to extend it and it looks like I'll have to extend the stay rod part as well? it doesn't quite match up. I don't have access to a welder, so is there any other way to do this?
  18. Nice. Yeah i think i'm gonna try my solid mount out and see if i get any crazy vibrations I think the phase one intake will have enough room because the air box is located on the pass side instead of right on the intake manifold. so im gonna gonna pick up a phase one intake from the junk yard and find/make a place to stick the MAF sensor. its super tall now, I cant wait to park it by a stock imp. just realized one important thing lol I feel like a goddamn idiot. the steering joint.. I forgot to put it in. so Im gonna drop the front subframe again tomorrow and do that..
  19. got here back on all 4's. got radiator hoses fitted and made a dogbone mount out of 1" square tube. not sure if it'll work or not because it doesn't flex and whatnot. TRON, do you have any pics or info on the one used in your car? if I end up using the one I made, I have to get a phase 1 intake to mod to fit MAF cause my airbox wont fit due to the way the dogbone sits. also gotta work on a tranny linkage, probably using the 1" square tube again.
  20. I've never been wheeling with you guys before, but about 2 years ago I bought the black and red 2" lifted wagon on 30's from a guy in puyallup that one of you guys built. I tried bringing it to ellensburg and it died going up the pass. Funds were tight and it got sent to the scrappers. ever since, I've been slowly building my impreza. ive watched all your youtube videos several times and I would hate for this group to disband when i'm on the verge of having a worthy trail rig. Im almost done installing my 6" SJR lift and next up is a gl dual range. so hang on for a little longer guys!! I wanna run with the big dogs haha
  21. Lots of little bullshit problems today, got another tire on the ground and radiator hoses and made a solid dogbone mount out of 1" tube. Might have to find something else, but we'll see how it does. I'm working all weekend so I hope it'll be all finished by tuesday.
  22. will do guys! im really happy I bought it. it sits really high, but part of it is the optical illusion of my fenders being cut. I wouldnt have cut them if I knew I was going to get this, but whatever, just adds to the gnar hah
  23. Hey guys, after 6 months of having my car on forester struts I decided it wasn't tall enough. So I jumped on a used 6" SJR kit Scott had for sale and am most of the way through installing it. Just need to do the front struts, radiator hoses, dogbone, and shift linkage and she should be ready to go. I don't work tomorrow so most of that will get done if not all. here is where I called it a night, got all the body blocks in and the rear strut tops. this thing is gonna be big, I'm super stoked on it
  24. That thing is clean! I really like the subframe supports, I think I might do that with my 6" kit to hold everything in place. Props on your sweet ride!
