  1. Subarus and Hondas, good choice in cars. You picked a good one to start with. We are on other ends of the spectrum, I have had many Subarus and lots of experience with these old ones. But I'm somewhat new to Hondas. Enjoy it!
  2. Spotted a second generation Brat on the way home in SeaTac. Dark blue with a black canopy, just like mine. Left a note for them to check out the forum.

  4. Tommba you have found the website I have been searching for quite some time. When I first saw it I started saving pictures like crazy and then I never saved the name of the website. So much awesome photos in that website, thank you.
  5. Are you talking about Autosport Imports? They are in my neighborhood. Also Northwest Connecting Rod is a bit north of me in Southpark.
  6. Would you be willing to part ways with those gold 4x140s after you go 5 lug?
  7. Did some more tests today: Disconnected the fuel line in the engine compartment and turned the car over, when I did this fuel came pouring out looking unrestricted. So by the looks of that my fuel pump and fuel filter(s) look fine. *Is there more than one fuel filter on a carbourated ea82? There isn't one in the engine compartment.* The engine really doesn't want to stay running when cold. If it is left to idle it will just choke out. Once warmed up it is fine, the idle just has to be set at 1100 rpm. However when the air filter cover is removed quickly it will kill the engine. Is this my problem here? http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=135387
  8. Nah it wasn't far off. In fact it was working fine the way it was, it just wasn't in the factory position. It will run facing any direction as long as the order is the same 1324. That being said I thought I solved the problem when I switched it around. But the engine would still shake at idle. Then on the way home from the tree run the engine decided it would die whenever it was at idle. So I did a bit of looking around for vacum leaks and found an un-corked vacum opening for (Idk what really, some accessory my car doesn't have). It was on the intake manifold close to the passenger side head. Closed that up and the engine idles really smooth now. But as soon as I closed that vacum port, the engine developed a miss that doesn't go away throughout any rpm speed. When left to idle at 1000 rpm, the engine will miss every now and then and eventually idle down and die just like on my way home from the tree run. If I turn the idle speed up to like 1100 or higher the engine wont die, but it will still miss. Also when I removed the airfilter cover the engine choked out and died. I am getting spark to all four cylinders. So I'm gonna look at a few things that the troubleshooting guide has pointed me to: egr pvc any other vacum leaks there may be fuel filter If anybody has some ideas of what might be happening I'm listening.
  9. That would be the one. I have an '85 Brat that I will be lowering. Its not gonna be "stanced" or "dumped", just trying to make it look a little more sporty. I will be using ea81 FWD struts and springs up front, ea81 FWD shocks in the rear, and I will un-clock the torsion bar either one or two teeth depending on where the front is height-wise. I was thinking of just using cut springs up front along with the FWD struts, but it might make the car sit a little lower than what is practical with road conditions around here.
  10. Had a good time at the tree run in this rig, and Subaruman5 got some pictures that make the car look a lot cooler than it is. Heres the clutch photos and then the tree run photos.
  11. I like that gasser 360, looks pretty sick in my opinion. May 1981 - Leone 4WD 4 Door Sedan / Swing Back - Japan May 1981 - Leone 4 Door / 4WD / Swing Back - Japan
  12. In preparation for tomorrow's Xmas Tree Climb I have been putting in work over the past couple weeks. Resurfaced the flywheel and got an all new clutch, pressure plate, TOB, and pilot bearing. Got my big snow tires on. Put the ski racks on for this winter's activities. This engine was also lope-ing like some kind of hotrod and feeling underpowered... Silly wentz. Repositioned the disty and got the plug wires in the correct order and now its running like a top. Got a tool kit, jumper cables, tow chain. All ready for action. I'll add some pictures later, I'm at work at the moment. :-\
  13. There is a drain from the windshield that goes through the front passenger footwell, in the corner next to the tranny tunnel and firewall. It looks like a black rubber hose and is visible under the dash on top of the carpet. If someone has big feet or stretches out too far it will disconnect it and let water in.
  14. You must be talking about 1981 production for 1982. (How car companies come out with next years model half way through the year.) It was a 1 year only thing, that I know for sure. I wish I had kept mine... It only needed an engine and a paintjob. Nice progress with the welding.
