  1. Well... Wrong Brat I know, but with fmic it will end up something like this: Wheather or not you use one this big or cut through the bumper is your choice. And I was thinking of a skidplate that comes up in front of the intercooler, that way you have protection for both oilpan and fmic with one deal. Something like this, maybe a little taller in the front for more intercooler protection: Thats if you want to stay stock height or maybe lower. If you are going for a lift I was envisioning a up-side-down cow catcher type tube bumper. Kinda like trophy truck style.
  2. Just make sure the FMIC is protected. You have a skid-plate for the oilpan, make sure the intercooler is tucked away or has reinforcement in front of it. *Mad-Max ideas popping into head*
  3. Lol does she know about the nice nicknames you give her? Theres a giant stamp on the front/top part of the engine block in the middle area. Will be really bold and say ea81 or ea82.
  4. I need to get my '86 wag running. Just waiting on getting a fuel injected longblock to swap in. Then webber after I get it going with the hitachi. Also debating on getting a gen1 or 2 legacy to "jdm" it out, or a gen1 impreza. So many Subarus I want, and no space or time for them.
  5. It may go faster than the GL, but thats not saying much. :-p The GL is cooler in the nostalgia department and looks better.
  6. Not sure where this is at. Love the brush guard. A turbo coupe? Never seen one that was USDM.
  7. In the background; is that a ea81 bullbar on a ea82? :-p Looks pretty good.
  8. Amazing how big the difference is, living over here vs over there.
  9. The signals on NED are the flush '85-'86 style. This style is easy to see. You must be thinking of the '87-up facelift bumpers.
  10. Wow, this thing is awesome! Nice score, always wanted a turbo touring wagon. The paint scheme is pretty slick.
  11. They look like half-finished ski-decals. I've always liked the decals on this Brat: Maybe its just because the decals accent the roll bar and lift with mudders. Looks awesome to me.
  12. In Australia they are called Brumbys, and they all got the "DL" level of trim that we got here USDM. The dash you see here is DL (no tach, smaller dash cluster, etc.), while most likely your Brats you usually see are GL.
  13. Moar on this Subi on this page; the last few posts. http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=127197&page=67
  14. EA/Leones don't use pistons in the brackets like VW's. Its just straight bolted to the unibody. I vote for the '85-'86 EA82 bumper as well. It has flush turn signals and in my opinion looks better than the post '87 "facelift" bumpers.
  15. What are some of the used engine places that you have gotten good results from? I tried a place in Lynwood here in WA and all their engines looked like they had been through a deep-frier inside. Would like to just get a good fuel injected ea82 engine and maybe do a reseal on it for my wagon. Not trying to hijack, I'm sure the OP would like to know as well.
  16. I've been waiting for this one to come out. It will be in mix 10 of "The Hot Ones" series this year. Got a link to where you found the picture?
