  1. That was a nice read, and now its got a more powerful heart and meaner look.
  2. Hmm doesn't say anything about engine upgrades: http://speedhunters.com/archive/2008/10/09/random-snap-gt-gt-wrc-kei-truck.aspx Should have been able to tell based on no 5lug and brakes that deffinately wouldn't stop all the boxer power. Heres some awesome aussies:
  3. Its a Japanese Subaru Sambar pickup with WRX running gear. (I think) Must be a wild ride.
  4. First joyrides and now sabotage? I'd wait up for the little turds with a baseball bat.
  5. I think I have one of those Bently manuals around here somewhere... Thanks for that link Nipper, I have that saved now. Only problem is it doesn't have a table of contents or index. :\ I've been at work the past few days and my father continued to diagnose the problems. He got it to randomly start after moving some wires around, but the glowplug light on the dash stayed on while running. Then he shut it off, tried to start it again, and it was back to just throwing up the Ebrake light. Fun times.
  6. Gonna check out this interlock relay when the weather clears up. Looks like its behind the fuse pannel. The seatbelts don't have to be on to start the car... Also we replaced the ignition switch too, since that seemed like what was going on. (We've been fighting this gremlin for about a week now) The engine wont crank at all.
  7. As for a model: its the same thing as a mk1 rabbit, just in pickup form. Dave: I'll have to look and see if theres a fuse or something there. Nipper: The battery and alternator are both good. Tested a bunch of things: Starter from this truck worked when put in another car. Grounds are all in place and in good contact. Battery terminals have good contact. Tested power from battery to glowplug leads when key is on: power going to plugs. All the fuses under the dash are in order. My dad talked with someone on the phone and they mentioned that it could be the "interlocking relay alarm safety" which has something to do with the seatbelts? lol Thanks everyone for the insight so far.
  8. My father has a 1982 VW Diesel Pickup. Its having a weird electrical bug... What is normally suposesd to happen: Turn on key to start the glowplugs Dummy light/s and dummy light for glowplugs come on Dummy light for glowplugs shut off when ready Start car Off you go. What is happening now: Dummy lights come on for a split second Followed immediately by the Ebrake dummy light coming on The truck wont start Once key is removed the Ebrake light stays on, even when the Ebrake is released. Have to take the positive terminal off the battery to shut the light off. Anybody know whats happening?
  9. The grill on that Brat is just like any other factory ea81 grill. You just unscrew the emblem from the back side.
  10. Lookin Great! Wish I had a set of those wheels...
  11. + another for liking the sedans. This one is the pearl-purple/black color. Hopefully I will be able to attend this year, just need something worthy of bringing.
  12. You will get more response if you post in the NewGeneration section of the forum. First step, remove radiator. Disconnect hoses/throttle cable/etc tieing the engine to the car. Undo motormounts and bolts connecting engine to tranny. Disconnect exaust from heads. ^^^ No real particular order Yank engine. Put in your new clutch and do it all backwards.
  13. I wish the '80s-'90s Hondas weren't such theif bait. I would rock one. (Not to cheat on my subies)
  14. Loyale, did you mean that you keep seeing fake Fairlady's? Just reread the post. Real ones are out there... Just rare amongst all the phonies. Moar roadsters.
  15. When the Fairlady 2000 roadster was made (late '60s- early '70s), Datsun was still Datsun. Nissan didn't take over in full until the mid '80s. You will never see a true Nissan Fairlady 2000, or any Nissan roadster for that matter. (1600, 2000, etc)
  16. Just now finding this thread. Lots of awesome here, I'll play. I'm a Mustang addict... '66 Fastback '66 Shelby350 twin Supercharged '67 Shelby Eleanor '68 KR500 '69 Mach1 '69 Boss 302 '69 Shelby
