He probably needed to rebuild/take better care of his engine. These things are rally champs after all. :-p -
Thats a sweet wrx. Do you know if the jumpseats you are picking up are for a first or second generation Brat? IIRC they may not fit right in your first gen Brat if they are from a 2nd gen. Or is that the headrests...

I was lucky enough to have a parts EA81 car on my hands. Even more lucky that the ignition switch in that car was like new. I tried Napa, Autozone, Orilleys, even the Subaru dealer. Either they don't have them period, or they only have NON-tilt steer collumn ignition switches. (Why they would discontinue the more popular tilt steer version is beyond me.) I'm gonna baby this one for sure, as they are getting hard to find.

Uber Scoober - tell me about how you car sits

Heres that touring wagon again, just for reference. And here is Vegablades wagon that has 2 inches of lift. Notice how the hubs of the wheels are lower than the stock position of the red touring wagon. This leads me to believe the red wagon is at stock height. Pugeot wheels are not too difficult to find, I think there are some for sale right now in the stuff for sale section even. 14" And 15" styles -
Recently I have: Washed the bejesus out of my '86 red wagon. It was more green than red due to moss starting to grow on it. Its gotta look fresh if I'm gonna be driving it sometime soon. And I replaced the faulty ignition switch in my '85 Brat. No more spending five minutes of forplay to get her started up.

Hmm if it is indeed from iceland then I take back the '89 title. Touring models were available in the US only in 1989, but everywhere else it seems for multiple years. Which is a shame for us. -

Ah, the '89 touring wagon. Don't know whos it is, I saved it to my hardrive a long while back. The wheels are 15" pugeot. The ride height looks to be stock. -

Not sure what post you are talking about, but both my '85 Brat and '86 wagon are at stock ride height. No lift action yet. Perhaps you have me confused for someone else? I post a lot of pictures of other people's rides in the "awesome older gen" thread. Giving props to the cool guys. Also I quoted someone in the "what have you done to your subie" thread with their lifted wagon. They had parked "like a boss", and I showed how my Brat does the same. -

What does removing the AAV do? Its there to prevent backfiring upon decceleration. So what benefits are there to removing it, besides creating more free space? Someone mentioned that the engine will run better, how?

I believe this came from the stange subaru stuff thread. -
Heres what I did with mine if you want a visual. Both heads with the extra junk still attatched: Took all of that crap off and the rubber hoses that went to them. Then plugged the spacers off the heads: Cleans up the engine bay a bit: Not sure if there are any differences between yours and mine, I didn't have to touch this afterburn valve thing that is being discussed.
