  1. Did you look at the grounds? There is a major one going from the negative terminal on the battery to either the engine block or the frame. Mine was loose and I couldn't start my car, couldn't even compression start it. Tightened that sucker up and all the problems went away.
  2. "Yes officer, I shot the intruder in self defense." Pretty sure its legal to do that if they are on your property and "attacking" you. Terrible I know...
  3. Do you have a fence and a gated driveway? Or privacy in the form of trees/bushes? I hate thieves...
  4. Wow, didn't know it was this one. I've seen it at another place on the internet before. Deffinately looks cleaner without the giant intercooler up front.
  5. Would deffinately like to see this. Reminds me of the Rockstar GTO http://www.pro-touring.com/showthread.php?61726-Rockstar-GTO-In-Muscle-Car-Power-Magazine A Judge-Body GTO on the newest generation GTO drivetrain. These Brats will be so much cooler.
  6. Only the first two pictures I showed are the '80 subaru lug pattern (4x140). All the others are smaller, somewhere around 4x100.
  7. Don't agree to that. Hes just trying to settle your case faster. Get all your reciepts, examples of other cars for sale, and keep at it. If he still cops an attitude ask to speak with his manager.
  8. +1 You have no obligation to accept any offer of theirs unless you feel satisfied. I was referring to getting to keep the car. Didn't you find examples to show the insurance company? As long as you don't accept any of their offers, all they can do is keep upping their offer, especially if you have evidence its worth more.
  9. $700 and keeping the car sounds better than $800 and not. If its possible, hang onto the car until a good body donor shows up. Don't know if its possible for you, I would just tuck it away in a corner of my yard under cover.
  10. That was very cool. Had to post it on my facebook for others to see.
  11. I don't know how well I would trust that $20 torque wrench. :-\ A few years back I was rebuilding an ea82 and I ended up stripping a thread in the block because the cheap torquewrench I bought wouldn't click at the correct pressure. Be careful.
  12. 1981 and older are the first generation of the Brat. If you are looking for a dual range 4wd (hi and lo) I believe just the 1981 gl came with that. Please someone correct me if I'm wrong. These will be harder to find than a second generation Brat. 1982-1987 Is the second generation. ('82) ('83 & up) The gl trim levels all came with dual range 4wd if it was a 4 speed manual. Jumpseats were available up until 1985, '85 being the last year. The second gereration uses the 4wd lever just like your ea81 wagon. The first generation uses another shifter-like lever next to the gear selector (shifter).
  13. Haha! I found another one in my pictures stash. It looks like "ek11" matches our wheels. Searching on the internet for them doesn't turn up anything though... Its like they don't exist.
  14. There is no slippage in my clutch... Could it be that my clutch cable isn't routed correctly? Or the hill holder cable? My flywheel was surfaced on both surfaces before reinstall. Also the pressure plate fingers were very flat looking in appearance when tourqed. Sorry, not trying to hijack... :-\
  15. Dude, now you need a brat tailgate up on the wall behind the minibar.
  16. As far as "our" enkeis go, I have only seen four examples besides yours and mine. These two (4x140): And these two, which are smaller than the subaru lug pattern: (Left one on second to last row) I don't even know the name that enkei gave these wheels. Maybe they're rare, maybe not... Others should chime in.
  17. When I put the engine in my Brat I also had a new clutch. (small '82 style) I had to adjust the clutch fork ALL the way back. I'm talking almost to the end of the threads on the cable. Any less than that and it wouldn't go into any gear while running. Starting it in gear with the clutch to the floor only made the car lurch. Its just happy being all the way back for some reason. :-\
  18. Welcome. And hey, we have a pair of the same shoes.
