  1. Dates aren't really a big deal, its all about posting things that we think are awesome. Yeah, if you have a picture of a '05 sti or something; it should probably go into the newer gen thread. Got a first gen legacy crawler (theres been a couple), why not just slip it in here? Same thing with the historic cars. I've noticed that there just isn't a lot of action in the historic gen section of the thread, making a historic gen picture thread there would almost be like spamming the historic section. I think that as long as its something that you think is really cool and want to show others, just go to town. Cheers.
  2. The story of Inital D, a japanese Manga. A young boy drifts his AE86 for sport and while doing deliveries. The story comes to a close when his father beats him at his own game in a first gen wrx.
  3. I'm still allowed to bend the rules every once in a while.
  4. If it was just sitting for a while it may have bad gas or just crap in the line/tank. New filters and running through a couple tanks will probably improve things. Are all the miles original? Or is it on a rebuilt engine? If its original it might be getting tired.
  5. I took my Brat on its first (long) journey; to Snoqualmie. She handled fine all the way up. Had a blast snowboarding with my friends, deffinately need to do it more often. And she brought us home just fine. It was a fun day. The dude parked next to us was like "whats that little cutout thing on the side?" After I explained the step for the bed and talking more, the guy was legitamately stoked about my car.
  6. Congrats on the new hatch. Instead of replacing that stuff, you could just delete it all and cap off the spacers on the exaust manifold. BUT, idk if its the same rules for emissions where you are at. Here in WA my '85 no longer has to do emissions.
  7. Thats pretty cool. The snorkel opening goes way up into the cab... I can see a comic bit of the passengers head getting sucked into the opening. At least it keeps the moisture out of it. :-p
  8. They should stay in place while the rocker arms go in. When I have the rocker arm "body/cradle" thing in place, ready to be tightened down, I like to turn the little valve adjuster arms down so that the outside ends of the pushrods are supported and will line up in the end. I'm not adjusting the valve screws, just pushing the arms because they rotate freely on the cradle.
  9. Heres how mine looked going back together: It appears that the block will have to be split to get it off, the flywheel attatchment on the crank is in the way of the cam gear slipping off the cam. Plus it will be easier to get the cam gear off outside the engine. Although the Flywheel connector on the crank may be able to come off... not sure, I never attempted to take it off.
  10. Try charging the battery? Even though you have enough juice for you lights/electronics to work, it may have ran too low to power the starter.
