  1. I'll share with you the pictures of Ronald Reagan's Brat he used to get around his ranch.
  2. They designed the 4wd for slippery conditions or for when a sudden need of traction is required (such as going up a steep hill). Prolonged 4wd use on non slippery surfaces is bad. If you use it to just get up a hill and then deactivate it (both engaging and de-engaging going straight) its fine. If you use it in snowy or muddy or gravel conditions, its fine. As long as you don't use the 4wd in times that you don't really need it, it will remain in good condition.
  3. Has anybody else noticed how EA82 3 doors resemble Fox-body Mustangs? ...Kinda?
  4. 3 door coupe from the Puyallup area. Not sure who owns it now, seen it on craigslist several times. The last time I saw it, the hood and front bumper were blacked out. It also had gen 2 legacy outback rims on it, painted gold. I like it in this state:
  5. Timing belts? I have never replaced them in an EJ engine before, so I wouldn't know which one is more difficult. But the EA82 timing belts aren't that hard. You can do it all with the engine in the car. There should be a thread around here somewhere with instructions.
  6. I don't know a lot about this brat (Brumby). I see it has brakes and 5 lug hub swap upgrades.
  7. Check for ground tightness also. The one going from the battery to the engine is what gave me starting issues. (ea81)
  8. If you have a 1999 Subaru it is most likely Awd (legacy, impreza, forester) Quidam is saying that to unload the stress on the 4wd from driving on pavement, drive it around on gravel. After that then switch back into 2wd.
  9. right click, save as... right click, save as... right click, save as... Rwd conversion Also here on the "drift brat". I hear that converting to rwd on the stock 4wd gearbox and rear differential will reduce the life of them by alot.
  10. I really like the way this '86 wagon looks. And its someone from the board. And they were also at BNWSS Who else was at that show? I didn't make it to any other meets this year.
  11. I also saw Mr. Brat 's Brat at the Big NW Subaru show. Very nice.
  12. Here, we can actually see this one (Larger Image of Turbone's "Best Subaru Ad of the '70s")
  13. That XT6 is (I'm pretty sure) the only lifted XT/XT6 that I have ever seen. Its really cool when people do something different than everyone else, just makes that car that much more special. Turbone, why did you not post your 3 door coupe? It is pretty cool, I saw it at the Big NW Subaru Show '11. Here is another lifted 3 door coupe, board member SJR
  14. I'm suprised you found the lowered image first, I had to actually search for it. (google images lol)
  15. Ok, these aren't old gen, they are historic gen. But they fit along with the US Ski Team and are so awesome I have to bend the rules. Early gen 1 4wd Leone wagon Facelift Gen. 1 4wd wagon
  16. The US Ski Team knows whats up. STD 4WD EA81 wagon EA81 wagon ('83 or '84) EA82 '86 wagon
  17. Diggin the lowered photochop Brat. Not technically an "old gen" subaru. But I think we can let some gen-1 brats sneak in, since some were made in the 80's, and have EA81s. Not to mention they are very cool.
  18. Germans like Subarus too ^^The Pink Bar of Text Translates to; The Clear Answer To Individual Demands: Subaru You can tell what the Bottom-Right bit of Pink Text is saying...
