Found my unicorn...

Started to biopsy the car today, believe it or not... it's not as bad as I thought. -

Got some help from my 15 yr old today. Pulled bumpers, fenders, front valence and got a better look at what I'm in for. Rockers are toast (which I knew) and rear must have taken a decent hit at one time but I like metal work and other the mechanicals and interior are in good shape and all the weird trim pieces are there and in good shape. Metal work to start in the next week or so after my oldesr's SS is done. Luckily it came with another set of fenders. Note the pile of dirt and rust. -

Figured I'd test my plan out for the finish... Pretty happy with the way it's turning out. -
Justy electrical help
tundrabrat replied to tundrabrat's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
As soon as you attach the battery. I assume I just hooked something incorrectly. -
Last time I posted a question about my Justy in the "90s" section I got run out on a rail so I'm coming to the people I know and love. Just installed the motor in my '91 Justy (drove it for a couple years previously) and I keep blowing the 60amp fusable link when I hook the battery up. Got a short somewhere, any suggestions where to start?

The Subaru Search and Rescue Thread
tundrabrat replied to Rust's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Picked this '79 up last month after waiting 6 months for the owner to return to state... $300 and 500 miles round trip and its home. Same deal as the BRAT, lots of metal work ahead of me... but I had to save it. -

I've decided on a name... "Katrina"... Because "we will rebuild!" -

Build it and drive it. I'll get a build thread going in the next few weeks. -

What Rust said. -
Brought this home yesterday, I'll start a build thread next month on this. Plans are to get it rock solid (mechanically and body), save the patina and turn it into a survivor daily driver.

I finally made it to the First Gen Group!!! Picked this up today (very hard to find in Alaska). As they say, it's rough... but it's all there. Plan is to fix rust (primarily rockers), I have replacement fenders (will be painting and distressing), interior is nice shape, will polish out and clear coat the patina and throw on a set of snow flakes. Traveled 375 miles round trip to pick it up. Home Sweet Home

Just picked this up today for my son. His first car, runs really well but needs some serious TLC. Looking forward to building it with him.

Brat bed trim plastic pieces(3D printing?)
tundrabrat replied to Speedwagon's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
The grommets are the main clips that's run down both sides and along the tail gate, I think you need 10 or 12 total. The clips go on either side of the tail gate where the chrome trim curves, you need one on each side. Sounds like we're able to call this case closed.
