Also the battery is new, as is the air filter. Also I reset the ECU (computer) and it still has the warning lights on and does this starting thing. I'm so confused!

also I forgot to add that the check engine light and the ABS light are always on now, ever scence the flood thing always on. But I think it just shorted something because the car runs fine and I looked all over the car for anything the flood may have done to it.

The plugs are about 2,000mi old as are the plug wires, and the starter is in great shape. Yes the check engine light is indeed on but it may have nothing to do with this, a few months back I was driving at night trying to get to work and it was raining pretty good and all of the sudden I drove into food waters that were totally hidden by the night and rain it was washing over the bridge and it was about four feet deep. My car was cought in the middle of this and my engine died. Now this is my true test to Subaru, with the the front of the car under water the engine started back up and I backed out of the rushing water. Wow I love subaru! Anyways as soon as I backed out of the water I saw that the ABS and CHECK ENGINE lights were on. So I spent the next day going through the whole car and engine getting water out. Anyways, to the point, the engine did this starting thing before any of this flood stuff, and the check engine light was NOT on. Thanx, -Matt

Wow my first post on this great looking fourm, I have been a Subaru fan for quite some time. Anyways I own a '92 Legacy DL with 231k on it and it runs great!!! But for some reason every once in a while she's a bit hard to start, she will chug then fire up at a low idle, but then when I put it in gear it bogs down for a moment but then takes off just fine and runs the rest of the day like a top. I wonder if i'm losing compresion (SP?) or something? Any help would be great!
