The plugs are about 2,000mi old as are the plug wires, and the starter is in great shape. Yes the check engine light is indeed on but it may have nothing to do with this, a few months back I was driving at night trying to get to work and it was raining pretty good and all of the sudden I drove into food waters that were totally hidden by the night and rain it was washing over the bridge and it was about four feet deep. My car was cought in the middle of this and my engine died. Now this is my true test to Subaru, with the the front of the car under water the engine started back up and I backed out of the rushing water. Wow I love subaru!
Anyways as soon as I backed out of the water I saw that the ABS and CHECK ENGINE lights were on. So I spent the next day going through the whole car and engine getting water out.
Anyways, to the point, the engine did this starting thing before any of this flood stuff, and the check engine light was NOT on.
Thanx,
