  1. i know my pedals have the same thing.... that flat clip that holds the clutch cable to the pedal box? id try a dealer for sure.... wouldnt be easy to find anywhere else i would guess.... good luck! and if you do find where to get them post it up so others can see too who knows....maybe ill need one someday!
  2. yea but i think he wants a lil more oomph outta the car too.....theres no replacement for displacement..... just stay clear of the ej25's.... total headache
  3. sounds like a bad column switch imho..... not too hard to replace just a pita lol.... also check the grounds for that circuit....subaru has been known to paint before they attach their grounds to the frame....thus bad grounds everywhere
  4. just a support bar..... get a small piece of steel drill some holes and get some bolts and nuts and fix it that way..... way easier than trying to find it. home depot got everything you need..... prolly can be fixed for no more than $10
  5. when you jump into the ej22t ( which is hard to come by) it gets a lil more complicated and costly because of the turbo.....you hafta have something to run the fuel/air ratio correctly or you'll definitly blow the engine.....not to mention it would be more fabrication involved..... sounds like a ton of fun to me though!!!! i have the ej22 ( 95 ) and it is a great engine.... it does good and is quick enough ( for now) hehehe it gets ok gas mileage.... bout 25 highway if your not in the throttle too much.....im happy with it....if your gunna do the swap at least get some displacement out of it lol..... ej18 just seems too small for me.
  6. why dont you buy subaru stuff online? i can get all the stuff you listed for WAYYYY cheaper....just tell the customer you cant do the job til it gets there.......will save you and the customer money.....plus people will appreciate a mechanic that can get the parts at a better price hence giving you more business...... rockauto has great prices on some things..... ebay is another good one but beware of fake china made stuff..... theres a bunch i and others could list
  7. i got mine from a 93 or 94 and i own a 95..... obd1 to obd2 worked for me..... my car is definitly obd2 and the cutoff date is 94 i believe....
  8. ok so i KNOW i have to find the at/mt id pin on the ecu on my 95 legacy.....question is.... what pin number is it? and possible color of the wire to ground? are there any diagrams to show me what pin is number one and what side to look at ( wire side or pin side) when counting? im LOST and this is the ONLY thing i dont understand about this swap. help. thanks guys! -jarrid
  9. southington and hartford ct has chuck and eddies..... those are the only decent pick n pull yards..... BUT they dont have any old soobs like gl1's and the such.....id say anything 95 and up. and you cant pull engines or trannies.
  10. i am having similar problems with my 95 legacy auto..... when i run realllly low on tranny fluid the torque converter seems like it sticks and doesnt go back into its "neutral like state" while in drive after hitting the brakes..... id bet its a bad torque converter....... it feels like im driving a 5 speed and instead of pushing in the clutch before coming to a stop i just hit the brakes and it sputters and dies. i know the tranny fluid is the culprit in my case cuz i leak about 2 quarts a day lol. i would seriously consider the torque converter is at fault
  11. lol i might just hafta do that then if i can find one around here thats got a 5mt soob that hasnt been gone through..... :/ thanks for the reply!!!
  12. what size are the bolts to the 5 speed tranny crossmember? and does anyone know if the stealership has them? or where i could get them? thanks guys o yea! its a 95
  13. is it one of the models that wont start unless you have your seatbelt on? edit: does it crank but doesnt start or does it not crank at all? also have you tried putting a screwdriver to the starter to see if it will start? (if it doesnt crank) maybe ignition switch is bad.... cant seem to find anything on that interlock thing you were talkn bout....quite a hard search but i did read that those are prone to all kinds of electrical demons lol
  14. ill look around online for you....im pretty good at that lol what model is it? i understand its a vw diesel truck but i need the model to really help.
  15. look under/behind the glovebox....i know there are relays tucked up in there
  16. well i just picked a whole manual tranny for a 95 by myself and im not a big dude...... the whole thing is prolly a lil over 100 lbs ( drained of course)
  17. my auto is from a 95 legacy wagon and i will be selling it soon....doin a 5 speed swap and it leaks from the tailshaft housing gasket i believe.....too bad your so far away :/
  18. local junkyards would have those 5 speeds cheap.... i literally just bought one for my 95 legacy wagon to do a 5 speed swap and for that and the differential i paid $350 out the door. 200k on it but i was able to drive it first and it was smoooooth. good luck!!!
  19. this sir is not true lol my 95 required a sniffing..... passed with FLYING COLORS...but still they probed my poor soob
  20. eh...ill just deal with it lol not a dealbreaker for me...plus im in need of this swap anyways....im not putting another 4eat in....if i gotta go through the work to fix it i might as well do what i want to do and put a 5 speed in .... 5 speed swap ftw
  21. is it a 5 speed or auto? maybe somethings goin on with the neutral safety switch?
  22. oh man lol.... wasnt a gt.... how much would it be off by? anything i can do to remedy that?
  23. lmao that musta been fun.... i do know about the starter and i do plan on getting the mt flywheel bolts....just gotta find them....i have a starter sitting at work for $75.... i can probably get it cheaper at a pick n pull yard though
