died now wont start after 300 mile trip

timing jump maybe? im not too sure bout that 1 lol anything else evident? lights? (cel)? check small stuff first! i know it sounds stupid but i did a tue up on my 95 leg and the spark plug boot wasnt fully on the spark plug and it was fine until i got to a stop light and then the car barely ran..... had to keep my foot on the gas....... maybe a shorted plug wire or two? possibly cause they melted against the engine?...... just my 2 cents..... let me know and good luck! -
i would think that changing that sensor would help considering if i am correct that sensor helps control timing and if the timing is off its not gunna run right.....but also what kinda makes me wonder about that is that ive read on other forums that if the cam sensor goes out the crank sensor compensates for it and controls timing.... not sure but correct me if im wrong hope this helps. ps. ill also check the haynes for trouble codes when i dig it up for the diagrahms 2marrow. -jarrid

hey guys... quick question... does anyone know of anywhere to get a 200 amp or *close* alternator for my soob? the only ones i find are like 3-500 bux.... im tryin to spend MAYBE $200..... my stock alternator isnt cuttin it anymore with the 1000 watt amp :-\ i have a 1 farad cap but that doesnt do very much at all lol. Maybe even a rebiuld kit to make it have higher output would be nice! i know the newer outbacks have somethin like 125 amp alt. but its only on the 3 liter h6 and those are like 300+........ any ideas? thanks! jarrid

i was wondering the same thing about the 2 green connecters as i have put them together and the car does some crazy stuff! alot of clicking.... cel flashing...and the fans starting high speed then shutting down in a loop. even with the car running..... the others i might be able to help if i look under my dash....i have a 95 lego..... not sure if itll be the same. are you trying to hook up the ecu? or just wondering what they all go to? -
i have a trailer hitch sittin in my garage off of my 95 legacy wagon.... dont know if itll fit but ill let it go cheap! its in great condition! i think it was oem but not sure as it was on the car when i got it. it bolts on in 4 places..... and it has a low spot for the exhaust pipe tip..... pm me if you want pics

damn you did one hell of a job on that clutch! i think my legacy has a resonator from the factory.... or at least it looks like one...... maybe ill take a pic later and post it...... cuz i know i have two cats....but after the cat on the midpipe is a hotdog lookin thing and i thought thats what that was.... hmmmmmmmz.....just gave me suttin to do! thanks for the advice!

well ive definitly figured out that thats what it was! now if i take a left turn pretty sharp and at a decent speed i can hear the pawl hittin a lil bit and i can feel it in the shifter but it stops once the turn is completed so i just hope it doesnt engage @ a stop light! lol that would suck!

i never had anything fall out at all.....the only thiing that came off was the tailshaft housing everything else stayed together!....i was surprised cuz ive read that stuff falls out while in the removal process..... i think the parking pawl came disconnected from the linkage and was engaged while in drive or rev. i jacked up the pass side and dropped it in 2wd and put it in drive and the tire spun freely forward then in rev...... drives fine now just i have no park at all.... finally i get to use the ebrake! lmao! well its gunna stay like this til i get up the patience to tear it all down again..... thanks!

yea i just noticed that! idk y though..... i used tinypic.com... and if you right click on them and open in new tab they come right up..... im having problems with the shifter linkage now though....cant figure it out though......cant drive the car now! it rolls bout half a foot then stops dead....cant drive even hittin the gas a lil bit! r and d are the same. put it in 2wd same til i put it on a jack and tested it. now i can drive it....but no park! ugh ill never mess with the linkage again!...... everyone disregard the unbolting of the shifter linkage unless you want problems afterwards! it worked fine goin around the block and going to dd this am then BAM! stopped workin.....strange!

thanks! yea i love my sooby! first one ive owned n got it for a steal! got it with 98k in almost mint condition for $1000! its @ 110k now....no major problems except idle air control valve and duty c! ive been readn these forums for awhile and just decided to join cuz i wanna be apart of this site thanks for the tip btw lol -jarrid- -
