  1. You don't have a secondary unless you have a Weber. You will DEFINITELY know when the secondary opens on a Weber carb.
  2. You aren't going to put strain on the engine, keeping it a 4k. Keep it in 3rd and bring it to red line. That's what these motors were built for!
  3. Niiiice! Still curious as to what you paid. List anything you may want to sell here. And...Pictures please!
  4. WOW! That thing looks clean! Let's get some interior pics, dude. How much did you pick that bad boy up for?
  5. Repaint it, but keep the scheme. I think the light bile with darker decals looks ***************in'!
  6. My advice is to make really good friends with GeneralDisorder (a mega-poster on this board). He has been my mentor since buying my BRAT and discovering USMB. His shop is in Weat Linn and he knows EVERYTHING. A really great guy too. Discount Import Parts in Milwaukie is a great place for parts and Lithia Subaru in Oregon City is your friend. USMB will pretty much be your new religion.
  7. They look just as they should. Carpet on your dashboard. I saw one the other day and it fit really well. Not my cup of tea, but then again I have a really nice dash
  8. Discount ImPort deffinately rules. Get to know your Weber by reading as mitch info you can in this thread. http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=29778
  9. Read every piece of information in this thread: http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=29778
  10. Had some fun with my BRAT in the snow in PDX last night. I got to try out my 4WD for the first time! I couldn't hardly go forward in FWD, but when I kicked on the 4-HI and 4-LOW, it tore that @#!% up! We also made a snowjumpseatman
  11. Well I'm sorry to hear that and CONGRATS! haha! No problem at all. PM me the price for those visors and shift console and the info I need to Paypall you money. If you have any other BRAT stuff you are looking to get rid of, let me know. Thanks for the reply.

  13. Hey there, I tried to buy a shift console and some pink sun visors for my BRAT quite a while ago from you, but never heard back after I gave you my address. If you still have that stuff I would like to buy it. Thanks

  14. I do that already. But my 'wave' is my middle finger and my 'candy' is dog crap.
  15. You have a good point about the insurance aspect. I could look into it with my provider, but it seems like way too much of a hassle all around. The BRAT would just look way cool with only the rear old school plate. But then again, it looks cooler than any car on the road anyway!
  16. My thinking is that there wouldn't REALLY be a way to prove that I'm not coming or going from a 'club activity'. When I donate to USMB, I will officially be a member of a Subaru car club. I would be 'gathering information' for 'research' every time I drive the BRAT. AM I WRONG?!?!
  17. Hi all! It's come time for me to renew the tags on my '84 BRAT and I was thinking about registering it as a 'Special Interest' vehicle. My only concern is that it is my DD. The DMV says that the vehicle may only be used for exhibitions, parades, club activities and similar uses. That sounds pretty vague to me. If I register it this way, I can get the 'old school' license plate and I only need to display it on the rear of the BRAT. Here is what the DMV website says: General Information: This plate is issued to a vehicle that is maintained as a collector's item and is at least 25 years old at the time of application, a vehicle sanctioned as a vehicle of special interest by an established organization that provides for recognition, or is a street rod as defined by ORS 801.513. This plate is also issued to a vehicle that is a racing activity vehicle as defined in Oregon law. Vehicles may only be used for exhibitions, parades, club activities and similar uses. Plate Fees: $12 (one plate issued) Available For: Passenger Vehicles, Motor Homes, Buses, Mopeds, Motorcycles, Trucks, Travel Trailers, Campers, Special Use Trailers, Heavy Trailers and Light Trailers. So what do you guys think?
  18. I'm pretty sure I have the same jetting. I may have a 60 secondary idle. Good to know you passed so easily!
  19. GD and I removed the exhaust studs from my BRAT by soaking them with YEILD 9which is like PB Blaster on PCP) and going at them with vice grips. It wasn't fun and it took a while, but it worked.
  20. REEEEEALLY???? I live in Portland and was thinking of trying to bypass DEQ altogether, but now I just may try to pass it. I am running everything the same on my BRAT. Cool!
  21. They might go 'Deliverance' on you. Stay out of those woods!
  22. Did you turn the heater on full blast? Did you remember to put the radiator cap on:grin:?
  23. I just replaced those heater bulbs in my BRAT. I got them at O'Reiley Auto Parts for $3 or less for a two-pack. You should be able to get them at any auto store. It only takes 5-10 minutes to pull it all apart and put it back together.
  24. I will DEFINITELY take the front and rear mudflaps. You'd be a hero if you could grab those. What color is the interior on that bad boy? Thanks.
