I got some at a machine shop fo free! 4 foot by 3 feet of 18g
-
I dont know. I just don't have power steering. I'm going to start digging into it more tomorrow. And getting some gold enkei's. I bought it for a whopping $450!! The only rust is the rear left where it's a little crumpled but other than that it's RUST FREE!
-
Well i just drove it home today! it has 170,xxx 5 speed manual trans, Rear diff lock. 5 lug. The seats are in pretty great shape besides some fading and are very dirty, only bad thing is rear left is a little damaged, and dash trim is cracked, power steering doesn't work right now. And power antenna is broken. The Ujoint also is Absolute trash!

Automatic transmission fluid. Yes it sounds weird to mix oil and transmission fluid. There's another thread where someone else said the same thing. It does work even tho your not keeping the engine it should last till you are ready for your new one

This happened to our Acura legend. We talked to numerous people and they said try a quart of ATF in with the oil. It has worked for us. We also change the oil (with ATF) every 1000 miles.

Definitely looking good!!

There was some at my local hard ware store but I bought all they had.

Or a cruise or something. I'm also looking into a machine shop that my dad has know for 20+ years about re drilling hubs to 5x100 or building adapters. But I'm lowering it. If I get another brat I'll lift it
-
Thanks. My mom keeps saying I should get rid of it because my dad and I keep buying more cars. I am having some trouble finding 18g sheets up near me tho
-
I'm just not sure how to wire it all together. I have found some 22t radiators, I don't mind messing with fuel or notching the cross member. There's a 2.2t up in conifer (right near me for 1000 with full exhaust) I'm considering trading my yz125 for it... But not sure. I have done a lot of thinking about 2.2 vs 2.2t and I don't mind the further agrivation to build a sweet a** subi!

Hmmm is this a good buy?

I'm doing a ej22t swap. You are going to have more cost for the harness stripping (if you pay someone ) because it's obd2. I have seen a ej22t complete for 1000 near me. There's a place in Florida that ships and has a 90 day warranty on all their motors and are guaranteed to run for 950+ (100 more shipped to residential). So I'd say 1000+250(harness stripping&spliing)+ cost of adapter. -

I would say no to rebuilding, it's some what clear he over boosted (the top mount) with out a scoop, it would be a great parts car, or swap a carbed or spfi motor in (cheep way) or as GD said ej -

Looks clean. To bad about the motor. I personally would get it and not let it get scrapped. There's a LSD, turbo, sun roof, low mileage, etc -
Yeah. I can't find that article either now but that sounds right. So I guess back to the first q I posed, I will just pull my wagons drive shaft gl, measure and then compare it to the xt6's when I finish paying it and get it home. Thankfully it's 7 miles away and he took the add off. I will get pics up when I have the chance

Yeah my bad. But they swap 5 speed granny's from Something else. Umma re read that post again... Got my facts wrong oops haa
-
Well lsd everyone wants so it is "rare" but just set up wise its rare since a lot weren't produced or it was a option when buying the cars from dealership. And no worries I'm just getting into xt6's so I'm learning as well. I also looked around on the xt6 forum and found a lot of people swapping svx trannys (5 speed) to replace their automatics.

Thanks for the link. I do believe that I need the whole U joint. Problem is not sure what it is considered "stacked or non rebuild able" I am looking for the easiest fix (fastest) and then I can worry about the broken U joint.
-
Drive shaft joints connecting to the rear diff.
-
okay, just a little background. I am looking at 88 Xt6 (5lug). The rear u Joint's are broken. so modified #1. If the loyal and xt6 drive lines are the same i can Swap them from my 86 gl wagon into the xt6?
-
1. Is the xt6 drive shaft the same as in loyals? (the U joints are broken) 2. How rare is the 5 speed tranny? 3. How rare is it to have the rear different lock as well?

Bump anyone know this stuff? Moved it to my house instead of one of my other properties. So lots of long days of welding ahead.
