  1. IIRC you get no vss signal below 2mph. Take the instrument cluster out and you'll have a much easier time connecting vss, oil, temp, etc. There will be a white plug and a black plug on the back of the cluster. VSS is the yellow/green wire on the white plug. I also tried using the optional connector for cruise control but the ecu didn't like that signal for some reason.
  2. B134 13 and 14 go to #2 and #3 fuel injectors respectively. I verified the wire I'm using in the FSM for the donor vehicle. Its listed as "radiator fan relay 1 control" "fan relay 2 control" has a note stating "with a/c vehicles only" I think I need to shoot the temp sensor or scan codes when the engine is above 205*
  3. switched 85 and 86 no change, so I started shooting wires and found out the ECU signal wire has no voltage above or below 205. Also no continuity to ground above or below 205. Not sure where to look next, since I'm getting no code for the temp sensor. additional info: 2001 25rs ECU 134a pin 3 ECU signal, red/light blue wire
  4. also no codes for temp sensor. No a/c installed so I didn't do a secondary fan. Now that the weather is warming up Im getting a paranoid of blowing a head gasket etc. I do have an ej25
  5. I recently changed my radiator fan trigger from manual to ecu controlled. Around what temp should the ecu be triggering it to come on? They haven't come on yet. The factory gauge(with resistor) reads okay and the manual gauge (upper radiator hose) stays around 180*F in 80*F weather. I have gotten it up to 210*-215* at long stop lights, but still no fan.? I have it wired like this through bosch relay: Batt+ power = 30 12v out to fan = 87 Ig. switched power + = 85 ECU fan trigger (ground) = 86
  6. I found it way easier to spend a few hours pulling another harness at the junk yard and a few more stripping it down. Also I had become familiar with the process during my first attempt. I would still like to build a harness from scratch. To do a wire tuck and unclutter the engine bay, but subarus don't wire tuck as nicely as other cars. Also all the "mess" going on under the hood of a subaru reminds me of when I used to work on jet engines.
  7. Just lifted! 1991 Loyale aka Carl aka Brutananadilewski ej251 5 lug, disk brakes before with coilovers and now with home made 2" lift
  8. When you said that I knew that must have been my problem. That was exactly it. Thanks so much!
  9. Yes I am providing switched power to the green red wire on fuel relay, also to 3 & 4, yellow wires, on main relay. harness is from 01 impreza 5spd with 3 plug ecu. Which wire is sitched power to ecu? I went down to the local subaru shop and color codes for wiring are same for all the 99-04 ej251 that I have looked at.
  10. I swapped an ej251 into my loyale. Its running fine but not shutting off with the key. The fuel pump relay is staying energized when I turn the key off and remove it. Can anyone help me figure this out, please. I have my switched power connections hooked into the EA where the old fuel pump relay got power. I have it wired as follows: Fuel pump relay terminal 1 -switched power, green/red wire 2 -hot, black/red wire 3 - to ECM untouched, green/black wire 4 - to pump, black/red wire Main relay 1- ground, black 2 - untouched, green/black 3 - switched power, yellow/blue 4 - switched power, yellow/red 5 - hot, black/red 6 - hot, black/red
  11. Im trying to sell a set of ground control coilovers with AGX fronts and Koni miata rears. PM me if interested
  12. Thanks. I just needed to be sure before I sell them to a guy with a wrx.
  13. Bump. Can anyone tell me if the struts will bolt onto the wrx nuckles?
  14. I have AGX front struts with eibach springs, for the 93-01 impreza. I was curious if they would fit an 04 wrx. My initial thought is yes, but I don't know. Thanks
  15. Okay, the way I understand it is, as long as I match the harness and ecu I should be okay. Also would have to match cam and crank sensors with the ecu. Can anyone verify if Im on the right trackm I might be better off pulling the current harness out and cleaning it up.
  16. I assume something from another MAP car would be best.
  17. I have EJ251 engine with all wiring and ecu from a wrecked '01 RS. The salvage yards around here have a few Outback Sports with EJ25 but not so many RS.
  18. Just curious about the interchangeability of the EJ harness from different years. Im thinking of getting a fresh harness to make my ej swap look a little more professional.
  19. No it has 1 1/2" at both ends, I used a hose reducer at the rad end. Napa part# NBH900
  20. I found the perfect hose for EJ with gl radiator. 90* end on the rad side and wraps perfectly past the head. dayco 81490
  21. Used an Airtex e2000 fuel pump. It was referenced when I was searching for the ford aux tank pump. Seems to work just fine, fits in the stock location using a hose clamp, and only cost $65!
  22. I found specs for a factory replacement pump. http://www.fuelpumpu.com/vehicle-search.aspx# That walbro 255 sounds like a little much; used one on a Merkur at 22psi of boost and it supplied enough fuel. Thanks for the quick replies
  23. Need a new fuel pump for 91 loyale spfi. Replacements are so expensive I was wondering if someone new a universal pump that would work. Or anyone know the specs of the stock one? thanks *edit: found a cheap and readily available fuel pump. airtex e2000 stock replacement for older f-series and the Merkur coincidentally.
  24. Can anyone tell me the color codes for a obd2 front o2 sensor? The one I bought has no diagram in the box. Its A bosch LSU 4.2 sensor for a '00 impreza 2.5 part number 17018. I know which ones are for the heater and thats it. Thanks.
