Thanks Crazyeights, maybe you could PM me some of those pictures? I have ID'd the ECU plugs, the o2 stuff, and fuel relay; pics of the other essential connectors would be great. Numbchux's PDF mentions a Main/Ignition relay, anyone have pics? You mention a MAF plug but I was under the impression that this motor('99 25rs auto) used MAP?

This happened to my car twice in the past winter. Was able to get it out with metal scribe and needle nose pliers. Carry a lighter and heat the key if the lock is frozen stuck.

I've been searching and searching but the only seemingly helpful pics have bad links. Does anyone have pics of a EJ harnes stripped for an EA car? I have a harness from a 99 impreza that was already pulled and nothing is labled, trying to sort it out. Thanks

I'm willing to lend a hand and what little tools I have. I just started my 1st ej swap too. You near Boulder?

So the tester worked okay. Got some readings that were all over the place, but think it had to do more with finding a perfect TDC.

I attached an image of a leak down tester I made to find the right motor for my EJ swap. Also the link to a forum that has a writeup to build your own. Mine is a little different because I used some things I already had in my tool box. I havent used it yet but I'm going to check out an engine candidate today, I'll let you know how it works. http://forums.bimmerforums.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1421365

very good writeup. Thanks

I'm going to look at a sohc ej25 in a few weeks that will be going into my 91 Loyale. The guys has the motor, harness, and ECU. I have r&r engines before but this is my first swap, so the wiring and engine management are the only intimidating parts. Should I get the ecu too or do most people use the EA82 ecu? The donor car was an automatic and my loyale is a 5spd. Thanks

Skunk2 Adjustable Coilovers on an XT
Carl B. replied to redXTwedgie's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
I did a little research and pre-2002 civic struts have a 50mm dia. 2002-on are 55mm. You can measure your strut and see which of those would fit best. The coilover sleeves are oversized and come with big o-rings to snug them up. I hope that helps -
Skunk2 Adjustable Coilovers on an XT
Carl B. replied to redXTwedgie's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Wow those look awesome! I know the honda coilovers will work on the rear but not sure about the front. Is it still xt6 struts and steering knuckles? I had my loyale lowered using xt6 streering knuckles, but they have no camber adjustments. What wheels are on the legacy in your album? I like those too. -
$200 winter car has turned into an obsession.

mounting rear sway bar on loyale

thanks Subruise, waiting to hear from you. Anyone with an xt6? Maybe you don't mind taking a look under your ride. -
mounting rear sway bar on loyale
Carl B. replied to Carl B.'s topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
I have the trailing arms with mounts, but I assumed the bar should mount to the chassis similar to the front sway bar, no? -
I started the rear suspension swap from an xt6 into my Loyale wagon today. Does anyone have pics of where and how they mounted the sway bar to the chassis?
-
thanks guys we got it open prying the window out and using a metal rod to hit the lock switch. It was quite a pain because the lock switch is so stubborn and stiff to move and there isn't a good angle. Im just glad we got it because I almost missed an Atmosphere concert due to this. Thanks

So i locked my keys in the car, whats the cheapest, least destuctive way to get into a locked loyale wagon?
-
Ive been on these forums since i bought my Loyale a few months ago. Just moved to Boulder, CO, where there are a ton of Subarus. So id like to introduce my self to the Boulder subaru crowd and maybe find some folks who would be kind enough assist me with tools and help keeping my loyale alive. Also does anyone know tne good junkyards out here? Thanks

Those are craigslist special wheels I think from a toyota. Cutting the springs wasnt bad but theyre too soft, I cant carry much payload.

Mysteriously noisy black box??

a relay is my guess, but just a guess. -
little tires like a 175/50/15 or similar

I drilled the hubs for six lug when I had the suspension out. Next up is a re-spray or maybe EJ power. That'd be a few months at the earliest, for now I think I need to take her on a road trip.

Had some trouble uploading pictures. I lowered the rear by cutting one coil and flipping the top hat. Lowered the front but cutting one coil and using XT 2wd struts. The steel wheels in the pics will be swaped for the split 4 tacoma wheels soon but I think I'll have to machine them for the right offset first. thanks for checking out my car.
