Worked on it today a bit. I got the dash hooked up but having trouble getting the turn signals to work. This is what works, fan, buzzer, flashers ,running lights dash lights. Does anyone have any ideas. Yes the brat is up for sale but I rethinking it, I just have not worked on it in a long time. I did get the pass seat in and few other nick nacks hooked up. -

Worked a little on the brat trying to figure out why the pump is not priming. After I put carb start in the carb ,the pump starts to pump. I would think I turn the ignition on the pump should prime up the carb. Does anyone have any suggestions? I cleaned the ground off to make sure it was good. I am open to suggestions. -

I found some spots on the tail lights that I need to replace. So I taped them up and going to make a template for some 20ga metal that I have at work. I have taken a little break from it. I will prob be hitting hard during the spring and summer. But I did pull it out of the garage a week ago. The plan is to pull the motor and do the engine bay during summer and get the hood back on. -

Well got little done, had a little time on sat and did the tray. Yes that is a newer used fuel gauge that my friend had as a spare in the right upper corner. ON, a sad note I blew all my subie money on my 2nd rain bike cause I am getting fat and need to ride. It looks like its going to go into winter for sure. Good news it will give me some time to get the other panels done. LOL -

Funny thing is my friend said there was sand in the carb when he went through it. I am thinking that was from the crappy rebuild that used two cork gaskets on top of each other:rolleyes:. When I pulled the old filter I cut it open and did not find any bits so that makes me happy. I will be pulling the tank this summer to put in working fuel sensor and at that time flush it out. I hope the tank is good. -

I bought a new fuel filter and put it on Picked up the rebuilt carb from my friend on sat. He says it should be set perfect. What have you guys done with the smog stuff on your motors. Is there a plug that will fit in the top of the heads? I was hoping that you guys already know what size pug I need to get. Going to make a block off plate out of 1/4 alum for the smog thing on the back. My friend said he bent his tubes and welded them. I am not going to do that, just want some plugs. He did say that he thinks they are pipe thread, any ideas? -

Well carb was leaking gas from that plunger thing. So I just figured it was time to rebuild it. Did some horse trading and my friend did like 4 already so he is doing mine. -

I got the inside of the vents done and painted. I picked up some gasket stuff from lowes so I could install the heater. Also tested it before it was installed to make sure it was working good. I need to clamp down the fuel lines as I treated them and coated them. Going to install the vent panel on the pass side prob on Monday. Still have not figured out what I am going to do for a windshield gasket. If anyone has one for reasonable price pm me. -

Summit Racing, I read one of the threads on replacements. It was not perfect but it works. Let me tell you it was a pain putting that thing back together. -

Got the fender done. Its not the greatest but its done. Going to have to do some body work on it. The top was prob the hardest part with the bend. These fenders are like tin cans by the way. I finally got to open up the heater box. What did I find a big old rats nests. I am treating the flappers with the rust conversion so there is no funky smell. I will need to figure out what kind of foam to use. Does anyone have any Ideas? I also need to find foam for the gaskets on the vents and the heater box. Open for options on that too for what ever you used. all for now. -

Got the hazards working and running lights working. I had to drill one of the light bulbs out because it was stuck. I did get the bulb out though in little pieces. Got some other wires hooked up on the harness and started to take apart the heater box. The two screws on the heater valve were frozen and had to drill them to get them off. Waiting for the jb weld to dry. Not much else going on I hope the blinkers are tied into gauge cluster because the turn signals are not working. :-\ -

Well got a little time. Kids wanted to play with the race track so needed to get the seat in so I can drive it. The other one is just sitting in there for now. Also took the brat around the block and stalled few times. I don't have an air cleaner on it and I found a leak in the carb. I will prob have to rebuild it or send it out. On a side note If your going to pull the harness use a sharpie and number the connectors. I did not do that and I still have to figure out where some of the plugs go. Subie did not make one plug only fits one place. -

Does anyone have an extra windshield gasket they want to sell me. My lead on one kinda fell through. If you do have one let me know price. I can get a new one for $60 from the place that is installing it. If you have one that your not using let me know. -
How much flock did you use to do your dash? Or what kit did you buy, wondering for my brat dash on how much to get. I was looking at their kits too. Any help with that would be great. Thanks!

Was looking for a hose for the heater and I found one that is pretty close to the og one that I have one there. Just in case you missed the Napa # on there you can also order it online too. I was able to sneek in a little time to put the e-brake back in. Going to try and take apart the heater box today. Might have to do it at the kitchen table LOL the wife is out shopping. One question. Those studs for the carpet only like 3 survived the rebuild of the floor. Anyone have any ideas of how to snap the carpet back in? Or if you know of a replacement screw I could use?
