  1. Also, you might want to post this over here... http://www.subaru-svx.net/forum/ They are all SVX all the time. You might find something in the forums, too.
  2. Oh, just expensive to keep on the road. A little difficult to find parts.... they only made 14000 of them from the US Market and they are unlike anything they made at the time. They're not all that reliable. They have lots of wheel bering problems, lots of radiator problems, lots of tranny problems. It's a great car but Subaru made LOTS of more reliable cars. This, of course, is simply my humble opinion as a multiple SVX owner through the years.
  3. Oy, if you need a consistently running car, the SVX is just about the worst choice of Subaru you can make (I have one, I can say that). Good luck, buddy.
  4. I LOVE LOVE LOVE this video, however, I did expect a bit more fireworks. I think I'm getting a Sambar (finalizing dealio) ... so I might be in touch.
  5. Ask this guy... he seems to know where to get all kinds of stuff for the SVXs. His name is Nate. nategustafson13@gmail.com You can also contact Dayle at sales@motorsportwarehouse.com
  6. SuperBrat, so you don't think I can find new Raised White Letter tires to fit original rims? I can't find any at the links others have provided and I guess I'm a little surprised by that revelation. Like I said, I don't want or care much about performance, I just want a certain look. This is not a daily driver, I'm trying to restore it to it's original shine and luster. Just can't seem to find anything fitting my description.
  7. So, I don't buy that many tires. I was hoping to find some raised white letter tires to fit the stock (recently refurbished and looking good) white wagon wheel rims. It's proven a little difficult. Am I asking too much here? Any resource ideas? It's not a daily driver so I'm not looking for performance, just beauty. Thanks for advice.
  8. Beautiful. Love the white. Good luck with her.
  9. Love love love the wheels. Looks terrific.
  10. I was up in Flag with my 86 BRAT just before X-mas. It was snowing and I had an awesome time. I don't ski, but I did take her up to Snowbowl to see the sights. I love Flagstaff when it snows! Gives me the chance to do some nice 4wheeling!
  11. She's a beaut. IF you ever want to sell her to a fellow Arizonian, please look me up. I'll take mighty good care of her. I have a '79 BRAT who is looking for her long lost sister! :-) Oh, and I'm a Flyers fan too!
  12. Sweet. Glad you got her back. Sorry about the tools though.
  13. I love the wheels. Looks awesome. Best of luck with her.
  14. Right, that's it ... right next to the alternator
  15. Woot woot. So cool, I can't wait to see it! Now you can look for parts for both of us! :-) Hope you and the family had a terrific X-mas.
  16. Looks great. Good luck with it. My '79 has A/C. You can see the unit installed on the inside just under the glovebox. It has separate control knobs.
  17. Mine's a bit "creamier" color; not as dark. Of course, the decals are from Earl so that's why they look the same. If I can find someone to fashion the roll bar, I'd do that too.
  18. Shawn, did you get a chance to see this? Do you have what need?
  19. I'm pretty sure it's not correct. Just so you know, we pulled the AC stuff out of an '83 but as mentioned mine's an 86. All i need it the compressor and the o-rings then a charge and hopefully we'll be 'summer cool'. Any assistance is appreciated. Scott
  20. I'm 6'3". It's definitely small for my comfort but it doesn't stop me. :-)
  21. Yeah, Shawn. He helps me with most of my mechanical stuff. I'm pretty much a mechanical moron. The compressor came and it doesn't look right to me. UUUUgh. I have to find someone a little smarter than me to see if it's workable. Annoying. Thanks for the thoughts and advise, folks.
  22. The cloth isn't all that great so I'm not sure it's worth saving. i have looked at 5 places and no one has exactly what I want. And, I have to say, I find upholstery people a little crotchety. Especially when i tell them I want 'this exact fabric'. LOL. I may have to cave in and get something a little different or look into other Subaru seats. I wanted to stay with what I had because I need as much clearance as possible. This car was designed for a much shorter person and i need the seat as far back as possible and then like 4 more inches. Hey, no harm in asking around, i guess.
  23. Couple more pics. Someone loved this little car a lot. It runs great. Yeah, it's been repainted. It started life silver. it's not a prefect restoration but i don't care too much. you can see a few more pics and some of the other cars in my possession... sadly though, i sold my beloved baja this spring .... i'm still sad about it. http://s1234.photobucket.com/albums/ff411/scole665/
