Thanks Torx!! Thats the answer i was looking for. Easy enough!! Found some part numbers for the cam seals and the crank seal. I guess i will buy the timing belt kit to while i have everything apart. Thanks everyone for the info.

So my 97 impreza OBS has started leaking oil from the passenger side cam seal. I am gonna go ahead and do the timing belt, water pump, and idler pulleys while i am in there, but my question is about the cam seals. i wanna go ahead and do both sides, but is it as simple as removing the cam gears, removing the old seals and popping in the new seals??? Am i missing something? Dont wanna expect to do this and something else pop up. Any help and info is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Hey Adventure, do you have any issues with the angle of your axles with the forrester struts/springs??? i have a 97 impreza OBS iwth 98 legacy outback struts/springs on mine but want more but was worried about the axle angles. One extra picture of my youngest napping while we stopped for a break

I have the same year/car with manual trans also. Mine makes the groaning noise in neutral off the clutch and driving off the clutch. i have owned the car for 1 1/2 years and its done this since i bought it. I drive it every day and even take it trailing every chance i get. I would like to figure out what it is so when something does give, i guess i can be that much more prepared. Let me know if you figure anything out.

Just a little info. Its an 97' Impreza Outback Sport with 1998 Legacy Outback struts/spings and about 1 1/2 to 2 inches of lift. Not much but its a start

NICE!!!!! I didnt even think to check ebay. The cheapest ones i had found were $220. This helps out. After installing the taller struts and springs, i need to center my rear wheels for taller tires Thanks Guys!!

I have a 97 impreza OBS and i am looking for some inexpenive adjustable trailing arms to set my rear wheels back center of my fender wells. Any ideas???

So after a trip to the local junkyard, i found a 97 legacy with the 2.2 and grabbed the TPS. I installed it in the driveway at home and "adjusted it by ear" and the idle has been fine ever since. Then i was having the problem of being able to push down the gas pedal about 1 inch with no changes in RPMs. So finally at work today, i adjusted it properly and the car runs like new I am glad to have this thing running good again!! Thanks to all who threw in there comments and helpful info to help out. Thanks again everyone!!!

Ok, so after all of this, i finally get a "check engine" light. The code reads "PO122, throttle/pedal position sensor switch A circuit low." Would this suggest that the TPS sensor is bad and make my car idle high sometimes??? I know i can just buy a new sensor, but then i am not sure how to calibrate it. ANy info would be great.

It will run fine for a couple days or so. Then just show up on the way to work on most occasions. I went to mess with it on lunch today and to my surprise it was idling good as soon as i started it up. It ran good on the way home. It sat for about 2 hrs, then drove to the store and half way to the store(4 or 5 miles), it was idling high again when i came to a stop at the traffic light. Went into the store for about 15 mins and when i started it to leave, it idled fine all the way home. It seems very puzzling to me as well (and very annoying) Thanks to everyone for all the info so far!!! I would love to have this fixed in the near future;)

Thanks everyone for your info. I believe it has some thing to do with the MAF. So i bought some brake clean and when the idle starts to act up, i spray the brake clean through the air box and the idle drops imediately, like the MAF is dirty. so if/when it acts up again, i will try this again and see if it helps. If so, i guess i will be buying a new sensor. Thanks again for all you info. Its great to have people on here who can help in times of need.

So, i have cleaned my MAF sensor, changed my MAF, run cleaner through the Idle Air Control Valve, and cleaned my throttle body and still my idle stays around 1500rpm at traffic lights. Sometimes it doesnt happen and sometimes it does. i have checked for vaccum leaks and found nothing. I have no "check engine" lights. This is getting pretty annoying and difficult to drive. Any help is GREATLY appreciated!!!!!

Nothing special, but its mine Its a 97 impreza OBS with 1998 Legacy Outback Limited struts/springs. I gained about 2 inches of lift. Now i just need some decent tires on it.
