  1. does sound like the tell tale bad rear bearing. beefy Legacy replacement bearing is what you want. To view pricing, or to order - go here: 1) https://www.subarugenuineparts.com/oe_parts_cat.html 2) look up by part numbers below bearing - 28016AA030 oil seal - 28015AA090 oil seal - 28015AA100 oil seal - 28015AA110 axle nut (recommended) - 28044AA000 snap ring (recommended) - 28035AA040 let me know if you have questions. this should get your whirring grinding noise sorted! 2. 06 2.5i wheel is 55mm offset 16" x 5.5" You do not want to stray too far from the OEM offset I am no tire expert, but I've found that those that try to go BIG often end up with rubbing issues. ABS should not be affected, but your speedo may vary slightly I hope this helps. Jamie
  3. coil plugs wires intake 02 sensor any idea what intake he's got? get a photo if you can Jamie
  4. 1) did you have new rotors installed? or were they 'turned" 2) did you bed in the new brake pads? Jamie
  5. what car are you working on? where did you get the remann'd axle? and do you have any photos? Jamie
  6. no no no your airbags should not have a chance of deploying unless something hits that sensor and it's tucked waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay up in the fender. Jamie
  7. oh they're there... up in the upper front corners of the fender area.... on the drivers side you have the main wiring harnesss tucked up there as well pass side is not as critical, but it's a good idea to protect the wiring. Jamie
  8. good thing coz my wagon would get mad at you for insinuating anything less Jamie
  9. fender liners protect your wiring/wiring harnesses from the elements. if you are worried about it? get a replacement. i keep them installed, even on my race car. Jamie
  10. i know that i filled out the required forms. i know that i obtained approval to have an on/off switch installed and i know THAT NOBODY WOULD INSTALL IT due to liability reasons. if you are really worried about your sons safety you have 2 options 1) make him sit in the back seat 2) disconnect the airbag sensor on that side of the car i dont think you'll find a shop willing to tamper with an airbag on/off switch even if you have forms from the feds saying it's "okay" good luck! Jamie
  11. i too, would do it myself but if i had to choose between les suckage and smart service? total no brainer. smart-service all the way! Jamie
  12. 15" steelies work fine i used them on my 99 GT when rallycrossing.... Jamie
  13. are the affected cars parked outside? let's say.... there's any kind of moisture on the brakes when parked (rain, snow water, etc) then it gets very cold out. moisture freezes onto rotor (sometimes appearing as little 'rust specs' ) thus there is a thin surface of "foreign material" on the rotors it's going to take a couple of stops to sweep the rotors clear of the overnight deposits. no real cure for this other than to do a couple of brake checks to clear the rotors up a bit.... Jamie
  14. Daniel... PM me your email address and I will send you a photo photo is of the part number you listed above.... this should help clear up any questions Happy Holidays!! Jamie Thomas Jamie at chaplins.com *************************** http://www.subiegal.com

  18. again... what oil are you running??? this is key in colder tempatures. you may need to: either swap oils or let the car fully warm up before driving Jamie

  22. you have a 98 Legacy yeah? I too would recommend you leave the intake alone. You have a MAF sensor tied into your intake sysetm. mess with the MAF - and it can cause loads of issues. check engine lights, car running too rich, too lean..... best to run the OEM intake keep the air filter clean OEM design is more than adequate. Jamie
  23. also... check your power steering fluid level but yes, this is a symptom common to the 97 OBK my 97 OBWagon has the same symptoms actually, it's tranny swap time on that rig.... Jamie
