the GT rear bar is SMALLER in diameter than the Outback the OBK rear bar is what I installed on my 99 GT GT rear bar = 16mm OBK rear bar = 18mm GT front bar is 20mm - - that's plenty beefy. no need to upgrade there unless you're racing the car shout with questions Jamie Thomas Jamie at chaplins.com *************************** http://www.subiegal.com

VTD is the fancy name for the AT rear biased torque split no, this is not applicable to a 5 speed but it's probably standard 'jargon' on your insurance Symmetrical AWD is basicaly how Subaru has 'trademarked' their drive line it's a coined phrase that now will become synonymous with Subaru basically, full time AWD standard on all Subaru's..... shout with questions. Intake

what do you mean by "intake" the factory intake is the same on all the 2.2 / 2.5's of that era. the Legacy was no different. both the 2.5 RS and the 2.5Legacy of those model years were brought to the states with the same BODY which was used on the turbo models aborad. 2.5RS body = 2.0L UK Turbo or 2.0L WRX 2.5Legacy GT body = Legacy RS 2.2 Turbo we, here in the states got the same bodywork with a downgraded drivetrain so yeah... it's just for show. i'm in seattle too never needed studded tires here in WA i've found i'm more comfortable on the studless anyway the roads up in the passes are kept pretty tidy i'd say you dont need em. i have a dedicated set of Hakka's for snow trips all - seasons for the rest of the year works just fine for this side of the mountains Jamie

None of the above. I'd recommend Dunlop SP5000's or Pirelli P-zero Nero M&S both are EXCELLENT in the rain My Dunlops were great in 4-6" of fresh snow Long lasting as long as you keep the pressures up and rotate often I'm currently running the Pirelli's and cant say enough good things about them Yet to have them in the snow, but they kick arse in the rain. personally i would NEVER put chains on an AWD Subaru you dont need them add all season or snow tires you REALLY dont need them i have never carried chains i have gone up in the passes (WA state ) a lot i have NEVER been questioned or stopped or even blinked at you have a Subaru - you'll be fine.
