  1. 93? subaru should still be able to order in specific gears for you but i cannot guarantee that individual gears COULD BE obsolete get me your VIN and i'll check for you. Jamie "your happy subaru parts employee"
  2. any 1993-2001 MT starter will work it has to be a MT this includes 1.8, 2.2 and 2.5L imprezas good luck! Jamie
  3. does your car have auto locks with OE factory security? (trying to figure out what your beeping could be) if so, do you have the transmitter for the security upgrade?
  4. AFTER inspecting the tranny you could possibly just replace the gears that are damaged depends on the damage done and who is doing the work
  5. they are not the same. i can help you. what year/model car are you working on? Jamie
  6. AKA... your center differential. its' a sealed unit on the back of the transmission.... try www.google.com for 'used subaru parts' good luck Jamie
  7. stand for? dunno and dont care the GREEN THING is actually known as the outer joint for the axle. the ring on the end of it... known as the DOJ BAFFLE PLATE the seal in the end of the joint? the DOJ seal how do i know? i work for Subaru and sell these parts for a living. also have replaced 3 of these seals in the last 2 months on my race car.... but hey! what do i know! i'm just a girl Jamie
  8. oh okay yep. the 1993-2001 trunk lids are all the same size/shape i had a 95, and currently have a 2001... parts are very very much compatible. cheers Jamie
  9. yes it will fit any GC body (1998-2001) RS spoiler will fit on any of the Impreza line from years 1993-1997 - nothing changed. And if your car had a spoiler previously, it should bolt right on even... otherwise you have to drill a couple of holes (4) hope this helps... jamie
  10. peek under the car. that's the only way to know. can be so many different things. cam seal, main seal or simply a bad doj (axle) seal. but it's definately going to be oil of some kind burning off on your exhaust which is why you smell it at a stop.... cheers Jamie
  11. I run Dunlop Sport5000's on my Subaru's love em. kick rump roast in the rain good in light snow (i have had mine up to about 8") and nice grip on the dry Decent treadwear (last set did me about 40k miles) only concern is that they may not have the right tire size for the OBK? not sure on that one... see the review for the Dunlop sp5000's on www.tirerack.com in their price range? they are one of the best all season tires out there. hope this helps Jamie
  12. i work at Carter and i was a carter customer with a bad head gasket issue loooong before i started working here... they treated me right and kept me posted on what was going on with my car that only made me more interested in eventually becoming a member of the Carter Family Good people here.. and you will find that many of them have been here for 5.... 10.... 14... years.. even longer. You dont stay with a company that long unless they are doing something right! swing by sometime and say hi... My office is located in the new Carter quick lube/tire building have fun Jamie
  13. the 2.5 RS has been around for years 1998 - 2005 what model year 2.5RS are you talking about?
  14. www.nasioc.com private classifieds you will find wrx, legacy, non wrx impreza, sti wheels and more i've seen entire sets of new wrx wheels + tires go for $200ish good luck Jamie
  15. that's not your CV that's your DOJ seal both are parts of the axle 1/2 shaft cv is the outer part of the axle, near the hub doj is the inner part of the axle, connected to the tranny/front diff. Unless there is an obvoius tear in the doj boot? you probably just need a new doj seal. very very common issue. there is a seal which is supposed to sit just inside the end of that 'green thing' (green thing is the inner part of your axle 1/2 shaft) you need to pull that off of the tranny, replace the seal, regrease if needed and reinstall it. there is a pin that is holding that doj into place you should also replace the pin as once you tap it out, it may not seal correctly once replaced and you'll have more seepage and leakage hope this helps. good luck Jamie
  16. thanks Eric and Austin and everyone! my friend Tom and his son have one they are working on i'm helping them gather info and such... you guys are an awesome help!! Jamie
  17. try: http://techinfo.subaru.com download there or any subaru dealership can get you factory shop manuals they come in specific volumes such as: engine, chassis, wiring... etc range in price from $10 to $60 hope this helps Jamie

  19. Fuel filler pipe = $86 part new... maybe google.com for "used subaru parts" and see if you can find it cheaper from an on line junk yard like Hals parts or www.aaronsauto.com good luck Jamie
  20. get the code pulled. once you have the code we can help you diagnose the issue/details. sounds like a bad MAF to me.. Jamie
  21. yep. got the same scratch on both of my Imprezas.... the guides within the door have "foam" on them. foam padding gets dirty... window goes up / down and there ya go. scratches galore.... Jamie
  22. try checking in the Audio Discussion forum on www.nasioc.com those guys will have your answer. jamie
  23. what do you mean violently? the shaking and shimmering caused by start up/shut off? if so.. normal as can be. Jamie
