  1. It is more than likely internal. bad syncro. bad plate on the shaft. has the clutch been worked on lately? car in an accident? of course this could be normal wear as well but if the car is popping out of gear it's most certainly an internal issue. Jamie
  2. the washer you are after is part of the shift fork assy there is no pn for this item it comes only with the shift fork from subaru junkyard time? or....?? buy a new one. Jamie
  3. obviously you have checked for an accidental double gasket? no oil cooler on this model right? so... perhaps the union screw that the filter fits onto is damaged/leaking? Jamie
  4. pm me your vin and let me take a look for you? (i work for Subaru) also, key codes should be (no guarantees) on the lock/lock cylinder themselves trick is, i cannot remember if it was driver side (likely) or pass side Jamie
  5. i have parts diagrams and pics of the replacement parts available. if you think that will help you, pm me your email address Jamie

  7. I know what you're saying about the "thanks bud" for the help I get that a lot  Subarugirlies is directed to whomever wants to participate. It will be what you make of it.... heck, @ 38 years old, I am no spring chicken anymore :-p We just happen to have a few youngin's among us and I personally think that's great hope to see you there.... Jamie
  8. intimidation doesnt necessarily pertain to this particular forum - or every discussion forum. In general you will find a lot of gals lurking and unwilling to participate for a variety of reasons. (scared, lack of knowledge, dont want to draw attn) we're really just basically trying to change that everyone here @ USMB has always been very receptive and very helpful..... but we know that's not the case in every subaru forum so, the invitation is open to any who wish to participate in any way Jamie
  9. this is for the Ladies of the Ultimate Subaru Message board Some of us gal types have brainstormed and decided to start a site dedicated to the Female Subaru owner and enthusiast :-p Please feel free to drop by and take a look www.subarugirlies.com The forums are active but not all discussions are available (for obvious reasons) until you register Both genders are welcome (as long as you boys behave!) Idea behind the site is to give us gals a comfortable place to ask any question - about ANY subaru - without feeling intimidated. Should be a fun site for us girls, a daily diversion All are welcome. shout with questions, Jamie
  10. there is also http://www.my.subaru.com where you can join for free, input your vehicle and have access to manufacturers suggested maintenance based on mileages
  11. dont know of anything in B-ham but Smart Service is opening a store soon in Marysville and currently have a store in Shoreline http://www.smart-service.com/ IMHO they are the best repair shop around Honest, reliable and friendly. Jamie
  12. legacy and RS coupe seat belts are NOT THE SAME you may be best off hitting up some used parts sources for help http://www.aaronsauto.com http://www.fandsauto.com Jamie
  13. a lot of the 99's are DOHC and prone to HG issues check the coolant for a milky substance drive the car, study the temp gauge, esp. at idle if the party really want to sell they'll probably allow you to take it somewhere for a once over and that's not a bad idea as a hg repair will cost you 3x as much as you're looking to buy this car for. Jamie
  14. mice are always bad news.... check your 02 sensors, wiring, harness ends... mice under the hood... bad news......
  15. ummmm regarding your link for an EcuTek reflash, you need a turbo setup first :-\ if you want more power, honestly, sell your car and buy a used wrx turbo "kits" dont work on these cars and a turbo swap will cost you thou$and$ to do Jamie
  16. very expensive unit to be messin with... subaru's oem price is costly as well Jamie
  17. 1) what year and model do you have? 2) who installed the clutch I upgraded to the OEM chatter free clutch 60k + miles ago never, ever have had a problem since. Jamie
