Ive been pondering on the idea of getting a 4" kit for an Ea82 ...
-
2" lift 215/75/15 redrilled 6 lugs . Gonna be extending the rods and thinking about getting a 4" kit . I rub wayyy too much with these tires, gonna remove the factory flaps and see what that does .

Oh right on ! Good to know . I actually just ordered one from Rockauto , they're 53.79 ? a piece . Shipping is kinda a hit or miss. Sometimes it ships from one warehouse and you pay less, sometimes it ships from 2 warehouses and you pay more. I paid 91 bucks for an axle, a repair manual and 2 exhaust gaskets . Shipping was around 23 bucks, so not too bad . Now just gotta wait for em to arrive !

He's definitely still a little sore from the last run haha . Why would I go make another HG thread when they're are hundreds of them already ? I already knew I had HG problems unlike all the other people that made their own thread about it. I was just simply showing/telling Jeff that it was HG leak and not an intake leak . But I appreciate your input

I think it's definitely HG . Intake area up top is dry . Hard to tell from pics but right next to the exhaust there's a spot where theres like no gasket : Wet Y pipe: Small puddle:

Thank you !

They say they're for the wagon, sedan, FWD . Should work right ? I have an 88 gl wagon D/R

Touche'. I didnt even think about Rockauto. I usually order all my parts for my Courier there . Thanks for the tip ! Gonna order one now

Those guys wanted 150 for 1 axle !
-
Do they usually have em in stock ? I was thinking about going to Lynnwood pick an pull tomorrow ...
-
Hmm alright ill look into those. Never used a helicoil before. And im kinda skeptical about drilling into my block .. Technically not literally LOL

Anybody know of any Vw shops or other shops that sell Empi axles in the Seattle area ? Or around Auburn, Kent, Tacoma ? I've searched google and all it came up with was Vw dealerships pretty much .
-
well i got everything setup, then go to find out that the bolt that holds the bracket on the far right onto the block has been broken Any ideas on how to get that out ? ive had no luck with EZ outs, but my roomate had a stripped bolt on his hub and we welded a different nut to it and very slowly turned and it came loose and we got the stripped one out. So i think that method might work here but its on the block and our blocks are aluminum so on the other hand i dont think it will work :-\ here's a pic, would i be able to just leave it with one bracket ? It doesnt move if i tighten the one all the way down . And im pretty sure i can use the inside, smaller belt instead of going to find a new belt . How it sits: Broken Bolt where bracket should go :

Here in Wa you don't have to go through emissions after your car is 25 years old . So I think I did my last test last year since I have an 88 . I bought a stock exhaust with the mid pipe cat deleted and an 18" glass pack w/ 2.5" tip so that opened her up quite a bit and gives her a nice Subie growl lol Oh and I'm F.I. but thanks for the info on the weber

Ok I'll check into that . I was gonna call the dealership tomorrow .
-
Yeah its fine if im driving it everyday. When we went to tahuya it didnt overheat or anything stayed at 1/3 on the temp meter . But if it sits more than a day my Y pipe gets all wet and there's a small puddle on the ground.. So i think i have cracked head on that side, its never gotten near the Red Zone though. Its gotten like 2/3 of the way up but thats because i forgot to add some coolant ..
-
I'm gonna try and make this one too ... my passenger side HG has been leaking coolant and im not sure how long its gonna last so im not driving it right now lol ..
-
Thanks for the offer but i got all the pcv hoses from the dealer already .
-
Measure the belt with a string lol ?
-
Dont you need to get a different sized belt to run w/o AC ? I just got all 3 brackets and am taking out my ac tomorrow . Just wondering the part number for the belt or do I just order one for a non ac car LOL ?
-
Sell one of your rigs to my buddy Mike !! LOL He was talking about you the other day and we went a took a peep at your 86 . Nice wagons btw !
-
Nice ! Do you have any pics of that spot on that hillclimb where i had a little trouble on the roots lol and i got this video of you going up that hill http://s1195.photobucket.com/albums/aa396/skylaraskay/?action=view¤t=bfb948ec.mp4

There's most likely a small hole or crack in your CV boot . I have one in mine and it's spits a little grease on the firewall and Cat ( catalytic converter ) . Squeeze the boot and listen for air coming out or like a slight whistle and move you car back an forth to find the hole . It's not really a big deal until you hear the joint start clicking when your driving .

Bahaha Definitely had fun, it was my first time actually taking it out to some trails and my first time behind the wheel of a rig on the trails .. So it was educational Thanks again guys for showing us around and what not . looking forward to heading again soon, AFTER i extend my radius rods and possibly lift some more but thats just all in my head, for right now.
