I found a tiny pinhole that was in my upper radiator hose. So i replaced both hoses and had it up on ramps attempting to "burp" the system. Not sure if it worked or not but i filled it up with more coolant, massaged hoses etc LOL and its still dripping coolant ! Theres fresh drops just sitting around the seal/edge of the oil pan gasket. Mainly in the front right behind the belt covers . So idk im done with it for now im just gonna keep driving it and check the coolant level. it doesnt seem to be using coolant so whatever fine with me LOL Drive her til she blows -
And if it does what ? Lol

I have an 88 gl spfi 5sp and my cruise isnt working. I have buttons on the steering wheel that say " set coast " and the other one says "resume" i think . But i also have the button that says cruise under the rear defrost button . So do i have a dealer installed or factory installed lol ? I'd like to get it fixed cause when im on the freeway im usually taking a long trip and my foot starts killing me !

Ok so go out this morning, and theres a drop that sits on the drivers side bolt thats in the back that holds the factory skid plate/ oil catch plate under the oil pan . wipe that off, start car let it warm up for like 10 minutes. watching it the whole time and i see no new drops. go do my thing come home, shut it off. go under and see new drops from here: little bit here: I also need to Burp my cooling system because i hear the swirling under the dash every morning i get in. Could this cause it to leak ? -
What size lift are you running on your loyale ? i cant decide between a 235 or like a 215/75 or a 27" bighorns lol i was thinking the 235s would rub alot but you say they dont ?

Yeah i replaced the oring and the seal that it came with . and yep will do ! -
Ok right on . yeah i was gonna use the 195s for the road and get some bigger M/Ts for the trails and just swap out tires before i go wheeling, thats my plan at least lol im really diggin the buckshots or the bighorns cant decide yet . so im not running big tires all the time and hopefully it'll save a little wear on the clucth/etc

I did check the hose that goes from the water pump to heater hose . it seemed fine so i didnt replace it but it wouldnt hurt to check again . i did use some sealant on the housing gasket, rubbed my finger around it, no liquid there. its leaking more on the drivers side . i checked the hoses and they seem dry around there too . i didnt replace them though when i removed the radiator an stuff to do the belts etc. and i just went an got some food, drove over to a buddys. come back home read this, and go under my car again and its mostly dry . i see like one small spot of coolant . so it might've just sealed back up like you said josh . ill go look at again tomorrow morning -

So ive got that water pump and everything done, drilled out the bolts i broke in the t-stat housing and replaced the thermostat and the gasket. fill her up, been driving around for a good week now. did an oil change last night, and im doing an o2 sensor today cause it like 24 bucks. seems to be running kinda rich still, anyways. get down there to find out im still leaking coolant !! i left the center belt cover gasket out so i could access belts and water pump. and nothings coming from the weep hole, all dry around there. it looks like its dripping from the seal of the oil pan gasket .. im stumped as of right now, any input would be appreciated. im starting to think its a headgasket ? :/ its got 222,xxx miles. dont think its ever been rebuilt either . -
That thing is sweet ! I would love to go romping in some mud or trails in that thing lol really digging the duel exhaust and tow hitch !

Right on, and yeah i was thinking about doing what seems to be common on here and just cut right under the front trim piece on the fenders lol Ok cool, sounds reasonable . Im definitely up for having some fun ! Dont know if ill have money for tires right away, but i do have 195/75/14's on it right now . Which brings me to another thought, how do the ea82's handle bigger tires ? ive noticed its a little slower getting up to speeds with the tires i have on now, compared to the 175/70/13s . Not so worried about speed just the wear on the clutch/trans with the weight of the bigger tires ..

right on . and yeah i had him make a profile earlier today . and hes been kinda looking over my shoulder and reading through posts with me . ill have him get online and maybe you guys can start talking as well . and i had another thing in mind, how do the 2" lifted rig hold up on the trails ? do run the same trails as the bigger ones such as ones eyes or 88suby4x4's ? Id like to go a little bigger than 2" for more clearance but i dont want to sound greedy lol id be willing to buy steel and wire for the welder as mentioned before if you guys would be willing to teach/ help me cut some blocks .. we can talk about that another time though .

No lift, yet :/ but i stuck some 195/75/14s on there with 14" pugs ! thanks turbone !

Yes, both are D/R . both run pretty well. mine drips some oil, but they all do ... and i also need a lower BJ an alignment but other than that, both are DD-able i dont mind it getting banged up a bit, rear passenger door has dents on the lower part and bumpers not aligned and it has scratches ... Definitely up for learning more about cars, ive loved cars ever since i was a kid and my dad was a mechanic but he isnt around anymore so i pretty much taught myself how to drive a stick and learn the basics of maintaining a motor when i got my Courier last year . And ever since i got my dirtbikes and my truck ive been called a "gearhead" by my friends cause everytime they come over im always working on something on my cars or bikes . ( and not because they're POS's, i just like to take things apart and figure out how they work and whats under there, where everythings at, etc. LOL ) The ONLY problem that i really have is the 2 hour drive there and then 2 hours back. Mainly just worried about the ride back because IF i were to break an axle or a stub, or a Ball joint or a tie rod or something serious along those lines, I gotta take I-5 all the way home lol ...

Makes sense . I actually wanna use those same rims and tires you have lol seen yours a couple times on here and it caught my eye . Are those 14x7 rims ? On 27" bighorns right ?

Ive got an 88 wagon and my buddy just bought an 87, both are stock. Ive been reading all over this forum since ive joined and im really interested in a lift and tires. never had a rig before but i have done some wheeling and do have a little knowledge on cars . it is my DD at the moment as i bought it to drive during the winter and rain season, and to go to the mountains but i have another vehicle if anything were to go wrong .. dont go to school anymore or work at the moment so i pretty much have all the time in the world lol heres a pic of mine: and my buddies:

so with a 2" lift and 27's you dont need to trim ? but with the 4" you do ? i am still debating on a 2" or 4" . im thinking a 4" with 215's and some 14 or 15" pugs or redrilled 6 lugs ..

hey i know this is an old post guys, but i just installed sylvania superstar zxe bulbs for my headlights . and i was just kinda curious if those were "high intensity bulbs" lol . dont want them to blow out . and as for removing the glass from the housing, what should i reseal it with ? i have a bunch of dirt in my drivers side and a bunch of moss and condensation in my pass. side. i wanna take them off an clean em so i get some better visibility . its an 88 gl -
