  1. Why thank you sir . Here's some pics of her now I cranked the torsion bar all the way up. As well as the adjustable struts up front & put some 14" steel pugs on it w/ 205/70/14 studded tires. Cb radio w/ Pa speaker under hood. Ea82 Spfi Y-pipe w/ glasspack dumped before drivers rear tire Woodgrain shift knob from 83 Gl Pioneer deck in slanted console w/ Sony 6x9s & 10" Kenwood Sub. Wrx drivers seat. Yakima Ski Racks 2nd gen Push Bar In the works: Rear seats being painted to match Wrx pattern. 6" lift w/ custom front struts. ( built by monstaru ) Spfi swap 5 speed D/R w/ custom driveline & serviceable u- joints ( thanks Qman ) Welded 3.9 diff Maxima Alternator All of the parts listed above I have had or recently acquired & are ready to roll. Just don't have the time to do it due to work. Once Spring comes around ill have the time off to get started. I need to find a wrx seat for the passenger side, figure out what shocks I wanna use to lift the rear; s10, 4runner, jeep etc. 6 lug my hubs, find tires & rims. Get a roof basket & tint my windows & that'll pretty much be the majority of what's gonna get done to this rig. Oh, if anyone magically has a grant steering wheel adaptor for an Ea81 or a Justy in their parts stash that they're willing to part with let me know ! I have a nice Grant steering wheel I'd like to install as well. Part # 6596 or 6597 for the Justy I believe. Unfortunately these are like extinct
  2. I spy a keg in the back of that brat .. lol It looks to be all Subaru though. Where is this ?
  3. Okay ill play with the timing a bit & see what I can get out of it. Spfi swap is in the process. Got my ecu in the mail today. Have a spfi pump from the wagon. Getting an intake & disty from Subruise tonight & im heading up to Arlington tomorrow for a harness. Now to find the time to do the swap on one of these upcoming weeks when i have some days off
  4. Oh, and I guess I should've said this Weber is on an Ea81 ..... Lol
  5. Yeah they're not rusty. There's just a little rust in the fuel bowl. Most likely from the gas tank as I've swapped a handful of filters out since Ive had the car. I've changed the fuel hoses as well. I know they make single shot & double shot discharge nozzles. The doubles I know are for bigger applications/motors. Our little 32/36 w ebers come with a single. My question is, should my hole be that tiny on the discharge nozzle ? I feel like it shouldve been machined out to the perimeter of the hole .... I am running the correct jets. I have 140/140 mains. 170/160 air corrector. And 60/50 on the idle jets. I have it timed around 10° When I got the car & rebuilt the weber I didnt replace the jets. They were clogged from sitting for 2 years. So I just soaked em in carb cleaner & then sprayed through em with the straw on the carb cleaner. Maybe I should buy all new ones ..... I'm also running 205/70/14s which could be causing an effect on my mpg too ...
  6. Speed limit 69 !? Better not break 70 lol is that sign legitimate ? Nice wagon btw.
  7. I attached a file of the picture but apparently it didnt work so here it is ...
  8. Was doing some tinkering on my weber today. Mainly just to see if I've been running the right jets and to try an diagnose my poor fuel mpg. I've been getting like 23-26 mpg which isn't horrible but I feel like I could squeeze a few more miles out of each gallon. I found my mains to be a bit rusty as well as the bottom of my float bowl. I pulled the accelerator pump jet to see if it was the correct one but it didn't show any numbers on it. When I pulled that I jet I found it to have the teeniest tiniest little pin hole for fuel to come out of. I feel like it was manufactured correctly. My question is have any of you guys that have dealt with w ebers over the years seen a pin hole this small on a pump jet ? I don't even think I could get the tip of a toothpick in there Lol ....
  9. What jets are you running in it now ? I can only imagine how it'd run with 200 mains lol I have an 86 hatch with a weber as well & I've been thinking about playing with jets. My mpg is a little poor.
  10. So the wood 4 speed shift knob I have in my 86 hatch is from a subaru !!! Sweet . I found it in a junkyard 83 wagon. Looks like there from the 70's era though . At least I know what to look for in case I want another.
  11. Bump ... pretty sure my buddy had his alternator wires backwards. Anyone got a plug in style fusible link for an ea71 ??? Last thing we need to put this car back on the road !!
  12. Just did a HG reseal on my buddies 1980 wagon with an ea71. Put the motor in & buttoned everything up. Fresh fluids etc. Put the battery in out of my hatchback since he was borrowing a battery that needed returned. And as soon as we put the + terminal on the battery, the plug that would be a fusible link in this case, got red hot, burnt & fried ... Obviously getting too much power from somewhere. Just cant find where ? Any input is appreciated. We will also need a new fusible link plug if anyone has one for an ea71 car. Car is a 1980 2nd gen body style wagon with an ea71 & a 3rd eye setup. I'm assuming ill need a plug from an 80-82 wagon with the same style harness.
  13. I don't think ill have the money for it until tuesday after my court date for my ticket. If thats ok, ill let ya know before saturday though ..
  14. Im gonna join this christmas tree run. Gonna bring my '86 hatch & I think my buddy and his girlfriend will be in his '98 outback he just picked up. Ill try and bring some wood for the fire & ill have a chainsaw as well.
  15. ^^^ What brian said .. every rig I've seen with a radiator relocated in the bed had dual fans mounted to it .
  16. That's somethinfg you're gonna have to look up and compare yourself. Google a tire size calculator and compare stock tire size with the 225s you're looking at & go from there ... I just had to do that when figuring out how big of a tire I could stuff in the wheel wells of my hatch w/o any rub or lift. I did adjust the torsion bar & front struts as far as they'd go so I guess I gave it a little lift but I ended up with 205/70/14s on pugs .... I had 195/75/14s on my ea82 wagon with no lift.

I sure wish I could go on these runs with you guys, but unfortunately my hatchy needs to stay "stock" for the winter so I can get some decent mpg for work at Crystal mountain. I've been slowly gathering parts to build it into a wheeler, so once the season dies down ill start scabbing her together . Basically all I need now is 6/7" strut top blocks for my lift & some tires then I'd be solid. I have a diff drop plate & all the body blocks for a 6" lift. I have a DR 5 speed, a welded diff & a set of 6 lug hubs. Hopefully picking up an extended driveline for a lifted hatch from Qman this weekend .... Anyways sorry to get off topic , take lots of pics !! Lol
  18. I'm just curious as to what kind & size speakers everyone is running in their ea81 hatchback. Also, where are you mounting them & pics of modifications you did to get them mounted since there isn't too many places you can mount them . I have 5 1/4 speakers in the stock 4" hole with no cutting, I just stuffed them in there. But I want more & one of the speakers is due for replacement anyhow. I had the idea of cutting out the 4" hole to fit 6" door speakers but then realized that that cannot happen. I also had the idea of cutting out the door panels like I usually do on my cars, but this is a hatchback, they're getting rare, I have nice door panels etc etc. Plus, even 6" speakers would be almost too large for the door. I could go down an inch but I'm trying to be cheap & work with what I have laying around. Which is 2 pairs of 6" Sonys & a pair of sony 6x9s .... At WCSS this year I saw Robbie's hatch, ( SubaruGuru ), which he mounted 6x9s in the cubby holes & molded some stuff around it to make it look flush. Which was nice, not sure if I wanna completely delete my cubby holes though ... So if you drive an ea81 hatchback, please feel free to post up any pics of your stereo/speaker setup . Here's what I have thus far: 5 1/4 pioneers. 140 ? Watt max. Not very much bump ... ... Especially when I install this next week. 10" Kenwood w/ built in 200w amp. My pioneer deck:
  19. Ea82 axles are a tad longer, don't think they're wider.
  20. If you put the drivers belt on & rotated the motor 360° you rotated it too much. Take the belt of the cam pulleys, line the cams up, put the driver belt on, rotate 180° then put the passenger belt on, & rotate the motor until you see the 0 mark on the flywheel. Tighten your belts up & you should be solid.
  21. Idk, can you ? Lol. You can do just about anything you want to a car, depending on your mechanical knowledge & how much $$$ you're willing to spend .... Do a little research, I'm sure some people have put EJ20s into their Gl/DL.
  22. I did not follow the wires, just the 2 that go to the little black cover underneath the key in the ignition. I left it unplugged & just put everything back together. My horn/hazards work, & my clock now has memory so I'm satisfied. I'll see if I can follow the wires through the harness to see where they go ....
