Timing belt adjustment through plastic covers?
rrgrr replied to colemanapp's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
While we're on the subject, I've got a couple bolts holding these covers on that are stripped tight -any tips on getting them out without trashing the cover? -
92 Loyale Body Moulding Hardware
rrgrr replied to 92LoyaleH4's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
I managed to save a total of 5 of these, the yellow kind, for the wider style EA82 trim -87+ I think. If someone wants them, let me know. I am going with 3M Super weatherstrip adhesive (yellow) -both were used on my doors, partly why I could only save 5 clips! -
So simple. Thanks again, rd. Here's a couple pix if anyone wants to see it. It was useful to see where the gauge bottoms/tops out, too.

Thanks, I think I'll try it. The 85 radio is a little different, but has a multi pin socket I'll try to decode. Looks like I could actually separate the tape deck and get rid of it if I wanted to...Going to have to redo my radio wiring, anyway, it ain't right. Looking for the harness pinout for 85 EA82 if anyone's done that.

Tried a cheap modulator -cig lighter type, but it is Noisy! Also, getting "quiet" power to my cheap mp3/aux unit is being tricky...

I've seen some posts where folks have wired an aux type plug (1/8" stereo mini) where the stock tape deck goes in to the radio, but am lacking details. Can someone please tell me how this is done? These cassette adapters are so junky, I can never get the heads to line up, etc.

Finally got the brush guard tweaked and sitting pretty much the way I wanted. I'll put some lights on there someday, probly under the bumper inside.

4 door 'Roadster', even nuttier! They really went the distance on the carriage treatment with the ribs in the top. I agree a continental kit would fit in on this -which would be hilarious on a Subaru! A little too pimp for me, esp w/the spokes. Kind of reminds me of a Cutlass Calais, too. IMHO 80's cars are pretty ugly, with a few exceptions, -you have to 'make' them cool.

Must be incredibly rare, didn't know there were any gen 3 verts, 4 doors, even more different. For those that liked the "styling" of the K car!

Well it's a bit lighter in color than I wanted, but it is Nason Maroon 143, nuthin' fancy. There's a lot of boogers in it, too, but it's covered and looks fine moving or from 20 ft. Don't hire me for bodywork, either, -I shouldn't be doing that, terrible at it. Anyway, here it is -Blast away!

Thanks for your help! I will be looking into this. I need accuracy with gas prices what they are!
-
Yep, EA82 wagon please elaborate on the repair!

Sometimes lately when I get into the car cold, the gas gauge is reading -until I start the car. Then it bottoms out until I drive for a bit, then it seems to "warm up" and creeps up to normal. The low fuel light never lights during this. The other day the light came on early -like 1/8 tank, so I put 5 gallons in and it went too high like it was out of calibration. Just that once, then it corrected. Does anyone know why this might be? I want to fill up and see what happens, but gas is $$$ now.

Blow By Blow has always been a staple in my deck! -
Thanks, bertmann - what was supposed to be a driver/fixer seems to have practically turned into a restoration! Been prepping & wet sanding for a bit -I'm about over it. I just want it to stick and look reasonably good for a while, keep the rust off. This should be the last (blurry) shot of Matilda (Brown) in primer:

Got my steering bushing in but ripped the ball joint boot on the tie rod trying to get that apart Oh yeah, and found a rust spot on the bottom of the back quarter where they do. Broke away about a pinky-sized hole and por15'd the hell out of it. Obsessively trying to keep the salt off as I prep for paint...

I don't think that's a 32/36. Looks like both barrels are the same size to me, does not look like a progressive linkage, either -both open simultaneously. Are there any numbers stamped or cast on it? My guess is it's a 38 DGES (synchro).

New guy from Michigan
rrgrr replied to Jabbott126's topic in Meet n' Greet. Your USMB Welcome Center
Gorgeous clean car! -how did you find a car that clean & new in Michigan? -
My headliner is all dry and brittle, and I need to re cover it. Trying to figure out if the whole thing comes out as a shell and whether I can get it out and back in without wrecking it. The alternative is working upside down with spray adhesive. I guess if I ever want roof lights, this would be a good time to wire them. Anyone that can clue me in would be appreciated.
