  1. It's Miller Time... I go to pull onto a busy road... clutch pedal to the floor... oh, oh, no return. DEAD. I coast s-l-o-w-l-y to the side of the road... some beastly broad in a Mercedes blares her horn and whips past me, apparently quite annoyed. So, to avoid aggravating any other rich people trying to get to their appointed destinations... I get on the trusty cell and call Tim. 15 minutes later my baby is home and safe. He said it was the easiest car to speed shift he ever drove... he hit 40+ and downshifted when he needed... stopped cold and restarted... there's some skillfull driving. I followed behind in his F-O-R-D F-350... now that was scary... especially since I'm afraid of heights! Whoa!
  2. June 3rd... bring yourself, wife, husband, kids, significant others, heck, 2nd cousins twice removed... AND your cars! We want to SEE them ALL! Come one... come all! All food, beer, wine (DD mandatory) and soda will be provided. Name your preferences for food and drink in this post. I LOVE to please AND cook! P.S. You MUST be a member of the USMB. New England is only a starting point... others welcome.
  3. Tim took my "86 Brat in for an exhaust leak... well, he and the custom guy thought it sounded a bit wimpy for such a tough trucklet... (in other words...normal, by my terms) well, now it sounds like deep throat with smoker's cough... I keep looking behind me for a real truck... and realize it's me... Men! Arrrgh! Hopefully it will rust off in a year or two
  4. Bump it up... as we get closer, we'll make a new thread?
  5. If I ever added the dollars and translated into cruises or dream vacations... the vacation may last 10-14 days at most... I GET to drive my dream vacations 365 days a year! Depending on my mood! Red, Yellow or SPEED! Money is not a factor!
  6. 7. Yes, it should open. When you lift the handle DON'T pull on the handle. It's made from white metal and WILL snap off Lift the handle and hold it up with one hand and with your other hand on the top of the gate, push the gate away from you, then pull toward you really hard. If it still doesn't open, try wiggling it back and forth a few times with the handle up. If that doesn't work, there's an access panel toward the top of the inside of the tailgate. Unscrew the 4 screws and make sure all the stuff is connected.
  8. I just checked my 3. It isn't quite the same as a '78, double border on the outside, but the two vertical lines above the logo are missing. It isn't an '84, it's all hollow around the logo with a single border, no vertical lines above. It isn't an '86, solid black around the logo, single border, no vertical lines above.
  9. I have an '84... I'll grab a high res pic for you. I may have an actual badge to send you. I have several grills.
  10. LOL...need your tan wheel back that you sold me? You can have it, just pay the ship. I still have the small wheel on it. The accordion thingy squeaks like a SOB any cures for that? Ain't no radio loud enough!
  11. Jude, remember Skippy, the black lab, you met at Paul's? He snagged a mouse in our driveway last night... that sucker was dippin' and divin'... Skip grabbed him. let him go and grabbed him again... then lights out! He's keeping the Subies safe!
  12. Ohhhhh, don't feel that way... trust me, If i could do it, I'd get there... it's the cars, but more, it's the people that love them! GO!
  13. After hashing out all the logistics, it won't be feasible for us to attend Carlisle and have opted to go the WMB at Nashoba. I am sooooo, disappointed I can't make Carlisle, I would feel more at ease among friends!! I do have support from a few locals here and hopefully things will go well. Both Brats have issues right now and hopefully, we can narrow them down to get them to make the hour and a half drive to WMB and back home! The caravan is out for me... they would have to leave an hour earlier but at least they wouldn't have to worry about getting any tickets. LOL! Don't forget the "Little Meet" here on June 3rd!
  14. It's not so old that it shouldn't be dredeged up. I assume GD got his gasket... anyone else on board for one? We need 6 buyers.
  15. Here's the website for Winter Island. It's about 1.5 miles from my house. Very nice. There's Salem Willows within a half mile. Video arcade, tons of food, a few rides, SkeeBall etc... http://www.salemweb.com/winterisland/ Also: http://www.salemweb.com for other sites in Salem.
  16. Waaaay back when, my Brat key could start my boyfriend's Nissan 4x4 pickup, but not visa versa... his key didn't work on the Brat. At present, they use Nissan blanks when they cut keys for me.
  17. That Maple/Cashmere color is just awful. Maroon is the next worst.
  18. The regular PineSol will get to you worse than the mousie smell, too strong for the close quarters of a car. Get the blue colored PineSol, it's a lot less offensive and it kills the bacteria/odors the same. "All" brand fabric freshener is good too, but doesn't kill germs. Funny, I noticed this morning, when the sun hit it just right... there is another nest on the other side I need to pick out. Lucky for me, it hasn't a smell... or maybe the exhaust leak is just masking it
  19. Likewise... whatever date the FIRST Saturday in June is, is when you come here
  20. I just put a post up on the NESIOC to be sure old gens are welcome... otherwise I'll stay home. Seems it's mostly Impreza class cars. You never know... there could be some purists?
  21. I'm getting rust! I never drove it during salt season and waited til a few good rains after. I think the bonehead that owed it before me DROVE IT in salt!? I never thought it would be possible and didn't do an undercarriage wash! Arrrrgggghhh! Will the problems ever end?!
  22. BTB, Bishop O'Malley declared it was OK to eat corned beef today even tho' it's Lent... I think it applies only to MA residents LOL. Most churches planned their fundraising St. Patrick's Day dinner-dances for Saturday night to avoid a Cardinal sin? Huh!? Anyway, I saw several drunks before noon today?! Wow!
  23. I got stopped for speeding and the officer told me to use this > pointing to my cruise control. I told him it scared me... like HAL from 2001 was controlling my car. He said, "Yours is factory it's fine. If it were aftermarket or installed later, then I would tell you to worry." Quoted by a NYS police officer. I have no idea... I have it and never use it... still scares me. Buyer beware.
