Does anyone know where I can find a sunroof gasket? I assume it's aftermarket, but there's no name on it... I think it's 15 x 30 and has a mirror finish on the outside. It's in a '78 Brat. Thanks! Mary

LOL... if ya got it flaunt it! j/k ... hey at least yours GOES! vroooommm... mine's bedridden as usual... still stalling like a big dog -
Nope, not me... I'm always buying parts... never selling LOL! I mentioned the shipping because people think it's more difficult than it is and would maybe shy away from doing it. Try to use Paypal... it's safest.

Congratulations! What's better than getting paid for doing something you love to do anyway?!

It was... nice day for a ride... I would have loved to come down... just spent 3 days moving my daughter and her family... not bad considering she didn't have a dam* thing packed! It's a 6 room house with full attic and basement and took 2 trucks! My back yard is full of stuff that didn't fit! Arrrrgggh! Looks bad til after the holidays. We travel to VA to see Tim's daughter during Christmas vacation. We'll see what comes along ... are you getting rid of the workshop or keeping it after you move? -
Looks like #2. I think they're asking to buy parts and have them shipped to Romania. I have shipped overseas while selling on eBay and it's pretty simple, especially with a Paypal account... and often times it's cheaper than shipping within the US.... especially for small, heavy things. There is a small 5x7 priority envelope that ships for $5.00 and a large 9x12 envelope that ships for $9.00 regardless of the weight. You would need to fill out a customs for declaring the value and contents. I'm not sure about insuring items... I never had to do that.

LOL... reminds me of when my sister got married, the slightly sadistic best man put pebbles inside their hub caps when they went on their honeymoon... Take your time and do everything in a logical order. It was 3 weeks between pulling ours and putting it back... we didn't label anything, it would have made things simpler. Hindsight is 20/20...

Not guilty... I smoked outside the whole time... and never used the bathroom... we hit the truck stop and Wendy's on the way out... heck, I don't even smoke in my own house when the grandkids/other people's kids or non-smokers visit... -
Pulling the dash is just uncomfortable as all h**l ... get the seats out first... you'll need the room! Mine's been out and back in to try and repair it... it'll come out again soon to change it out to the new one. The "pull and see what's connected" is the best method... be sure to label each cluster if you get skittish about the reassembly. You may want to grab some grease pencils, or color 2 twist ties each with different color crayons or markers, and put one tie on each thing that connects... or draw a line across the joint of the connectors before you undo them. When you line them back up, they would only go back one way. Good luck!

Whoa... take it slow if you decide to flush it... I understand there are some delicate parts inside it that can blow out if the force is too much. Tim just flushed mine, it was clogged... there is still no real heat, now we think it's the water control valve thingy... the ingoing hose is warm and the outgoing hose is cold, but water goes through from the garden hose. I got the valve from Moosens... we'll give that a shot. Good luck! Mary

LOL! Yeah... it was big time clear space... it's like trying to thread a needle in there... Todd take his word that that splash thingy is there, but it's just buried Hey Freak... yeah, yeah, go on show off, you got there and back...at borderline "speeding ticket" speeds... I hadda get there in a Ford

Vintage owners roster? '71 through '81?

That's an awesome idea... If Jason doesn't do the compilation of the info, I will be happy to... my winter projects are pretty much wrapped up... and it's not even officially winter yet! So why a distant dream? No time like now. -
Yeah... as you might say... that dash is sch-u-weeeeet! Almost there now... just need the black steering wheel, vinyl upper door panels and black 4 sp. shifter knob! Good thing Subafreak had his Brat there... I would have searched for those "rubber door bumpers" forever...?! LOL! Dave, I didn't know you were Hocrest. Sheesh! Tim had 3 important auctions for parts for his '50 Ford, ending last night on eBay ... he was forced to put in proxy bids because we'd be down there so he couldn't be here to snipe... he won them all anyway!

We met the infamous Moosens! He gave up his beloved black dash! Also a pair of seats, window cranks, and a few other parts. Woohoo! We saw Subafreak and his Brat, met Connie and I rode in Bucky92! BTW her dreamcatchers are wonderful.. you need to get at least one! Leaking Oil came soaring in loaded down with candles and soaps... oh! the smells that came from her trunk...hmmm... wonder if I stuffed one of each of the 72 scents under my seats it would get rid of the Brat's funky gas smell? Thanks everyone!!

That's why God made umbrellas... ok... we'll be there, rain or moonglow... I have a list... BTW, I hear that if you show your money to the waxing moon, (just before the moon is full for maximum results), it will double? Don't do it now... it's waning... it was the right time on Thanksgiving night.... you have to wait til next month. Anyway, by doubling, it means getting things on sale, or finding you paid something you forgot about, finding a 20 in an old coat.... that kind of stuff.... it won't replicate in your pocket... subtle things you have to look for.... even getting off a speeding ticket.

Got some heat... not enough?! Still stalls.

Yeah... Mass. isn't too warm right now... and it'll get waaay colder! I was hoping to drive it til it snows. They salt, so the "baby" won't see that... I'll let the Hyundai eat it... I hate that car... it's less than 6 months old... no problems and runs perfect... leather, fully loaded. I just don't like it. At all. -
Well, its that time of the year again...

The Post Office does too. Com'on... either get off your high horse... or a**... do whatever it takes... be cocktail server if you have to... I did... a single mom, 2 jobs to make ends meet... I made more money serving drinks than my real job! Get over yourself and do what you gotta do and you'll be fine... trust me -
Paul? Gimme a break here... I also have obligations... I need a bit more of a commitment to Saturday night... no way will I head down the road for a 6 hour round trip without knowing you'll be there, do or die. I need stuff that you have... you need my money... so your time is worth my money... or am I just being silly? Let me know for sure... sooner than 3 tomorrow. Thanks! Mary

Hi Skip, Yes, it does have the device on the front... what can I do to fix it? I wanna drive without doing the heel to toe sideways slide... I'm no ballerina! LOL! Mary -
I think there was a bit of overheating paranoia going on with this car. I'm still not getting proper heat into the cabin. What we found: The thermostat was a 180 and we changed it out to a 192 as is recommended. Once it was changed out, we learned that the temperature gauge is actually working, but even after changing the thermostat, it only climbs about half-way up to the first mark of the normal range. 100% coolant in the system. Clogged heater core, flushed the heater core and it seems like everything is running properly. The water just isn't very warm when it gets to the core. I remember with my old Brat having to run the heater on low speed because it would actually take too much air in and it ran warmer with less velocity. This is different... it may be enough heat to keep the windshield clear, but won't keep the interior even tolerable. Problem 2 Checked all the grounds and vacuum hoses. It's still stalling. When it starts, and just sitting, it will run for 1/2 hour or more stong and steady, or sometimes only 4 or 5 minutes and then it sputters and dies, even when it's up to temperature. It's a new rebuilt alternator, but I did notice a significant drop in engine rpm's when I switched on the heater and another slight drop when I switched on the lights, there was no stall, but when it does decide to stall, it stalls even without any accessories on. While driving, it runs strong and steady... it stalls when I drop into neutral at stops or when I clutch... I have a bad habit of power shifting, so it doesn't usually get time to stall, but it's trying to. Now, the smelly exhaust is pretty much gone, no smoke other than the little wispy white stuff that comes with a pretty cold day. The backfiring is gone too. Could the new alternator be bad? Any ideas? Thanks! Mary
