  1. I could do Sunday... is it a wheel a drive or what? I just got Dorothy and could bring that.
  2. Yes. :-p I actually used to get about 32 on my SPFI car and about 26 or less carbbed as the carb had issues. I now have 29's and its hard to manage 22 MPG out of the thing, but then I know its running rather Rich(E-test guy told me so) I personally think that anything a carb can do, EFI can do better. I'm a big EFI fan, I've converted 3 Subbis now too +1
  3. I'll buy one if they are not too much.. or just get a body and rig it on my drift car:banana: Anyway as far as speed goes, they will probably hit about 30 tops stock... but you can mod it a little and get her going as fast as about 40 or so... Faster you go tho the more you recharge the batteries. I didn't know Ronald Reagan drove a BRAT!
  4. +1 I'll add a touch too... #1 there should be behind the pass seat, SNAPPED under the rear seat on the vertical part a small pouch. in the pouch is a wrenchy looking thing that you'll use to crank the belt back. There should be a round plug on the inside of the car behind the door of the defunct belt. #2 Could also be the switch, but the resistor is more common... luckily its only like 2 bolts and its above where the passengers feet would be... looks like coiled wires gooed together. #3 is right on the money... it happens with 1 really long arm.
  5. Xts are like the best Subarus ever... I just drove my 6 around after driving my lifted wagon and a turbo XT... Man that thing is FAST:banana:
  6. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=enMDCVKVjUc
  7. Also known as a feint drift.... +1 on replacing the coolant hoses... first thing my wagon did right after I got it... started in on the hoses, one at a time:dead:
  8. DORK FIGHT!!!! Anyway, the fueling thing is right. I personally do not think that the ECU will add more fuel, what I think it will do is add more timing. Since the air is cooler, chances of knock are reduced. The ECU will read the knock sensor and advance the timing till it "sees" knock, then back off... A+B=the ECU will be able to run more timing and more timing has been proven to result in more power.
  9. could be just about anything from a vac leak to a guy that just stepped out of a corvette into the ru... Who attacks a car with an axe anyway?
  10. NO As far as temp goes... my wagon hovers right around 190-200 ish all day(SPFI EA82) and Mike turbo usually ran about 200-220 or so IIRC... any thing above 240 is not good.
  11. I'd say no... cooler intake temps are always worth it... that and the addition of a BOV or BPV will increase turbo life and decrease lag time... I say you CAN(hear me out now) get more power by simply adding an intercooler. The engine will be able to run more timing on worse gas giving you a few more ECU provided ponies. There was a noticeable difference in my car... So much so that, without the hood scoop, you could feel the power drop off as the IC got heat soaked.
  12. Heres how well that would work... First we'd get either keith or shawn... not both, because in reality they are the same person... you never see them at the same time. Next you, Mike, would say you were going to go and have us all believe it... till about a month before when some school thing would come up. Jeff would show up. I would waffle about showing up for the entire time... and even at the last minute there's a 50/50 chance I'll forget, sleep in, or not see the thread ever. Other then that, if I actually did make it, it'd give a total of about 4 old school rus(provided Jeff's ran at the time as well) and 205 WRX's and about 20 new Legacies... The End.
  13. My rx had this setup out of a mazda 323 AWD turbo car... Its for sale BTW:banana:
  14. I did the same when I first converted my XT6 to a 5 speed.. I had the 23 spline tranny in it with the stock axles... I got the car to move about 2 feet before it snapped both pins and the car no longer moved... it was fun:dead:
  15. This always interests me... Bikers do the same here but! they judge you:-\ I have a 76 Honda Goldwing and everyone that will wave(some people are unwilling) does wave to me on the wing.. I get lots of waves. On my 82 CX Turbo, that looks more like a sport bike, I only get waves from sport bike people... but mostly stares... Maybe its the giant gold "TURBO" written on the thing, but it just seems to me that cruiser dudes only wave to guys on cruisers(or touriers) At the same time it seems that the percent of guys on cruisers that wave is MUCH higher then the guys on sport bikes... but maybe thats just me
  16. I ran one on my Rx... There was a slight increase... but hey for the $0 I paid for the pulley, it was worth it... The car seemed to rev a bit quicker, and actually I have an aftermarket pulley on my XT-6 which was actually 6 lbs lighter then stock and I noticed the same reaction. As far as the belt alignment... It is off, but this is also a V belt... its not that big of a deal, its only like 1/8" off...
  17. People on the Colorado AWDPirates board give each other "The Shocker" and so when I see a modded ru, I flash that to them as well.
  18. Haven't quite decided yet.. the guy I got my motor from owes me the wiring harness... but I also have a MS over there----> in a box. The only reason I don't go whole hog is because the subaru ignition wheel hasn't been decoded so I'd have to use a ford set-up....
  19. The motor was seized on the car that I got the clutch from.
  20. Cars are made to be driven.. drive and enjoy.. if you break it, its worth will become more apparent then when you have to pay to fix it. There is no reason to park it...
  21. ...you can no longer see the ground through the floor board ...the wheel bearing shuts up ...the engine seems to rev a bit faster ...the hamster grabs a parachute
  22. I'll show up and agree... You dont need to water cool the turbo, just let it idle a bit after you run it... not even hard, just at all... let it sit a bit and if you did drive it hard, let it idle longer... Shorter Turbo life? Pishaw! My 82 Honda is oil cooled only turbo... no turbo troubles there (other then the feed pipe has a slight leak) Get a turbo timer if you are not sure... Water coolings biggest shining achievement is after running cooling, but it does help some during running... like taking your engine's normally 190 degree coolant and ramping that up over 200 degrees! YAY!
