Any one have any pictures of lowered EA82's?
kingbobdole replied to flyjum's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
I bide my time waiting for these threads:banana: [/photowhore] Ok, I'm done for now:grin: -
sweet thanks!

I'm putting an EJ25 into an Rx. Any hints on how to make the Power steering work or do I just pull the pump and plug the rack?

air filters are for wankers:lol:

*sigh* going to take the plunge into EJ swappageness!
kingbobdole replied to Caboobaroo's topic in Subaru Retrofitting
Two things... I'm doing something similar except with an EJ25 and I plan to grab the legacy tranny.. As far as I know, a junkyard tranny and such are LESS then the adapter plate and flywheel fun and then you can get fancy clutches and stuff. 2nd, I have an EJ22T intake manifold if that helps. -
This ones a new one for me. I've seen plenty of FW4wd loyale Turbos, touring wagons and strange ea81 suspensions swapped XT-6's but this I didn't know they even made. It says "RS Turbo" on the rear deck too...

Now that the old wagon is a mini armored tank...

EJ FTW! -
Highjacking Jeff's thread (with guns) Anyhoo... if one were to forgo the turbo cross member and build a fancy up pipe, would one just cut the Y and run it straight up to the turbo from directly below the turbo? Is what I'm thinking right?

When it comes to a community sport, there are always asshats. Personally, my "smoke spewing monster" is perfectly street legal which means happy skies. plus its a subaru... what kinda damage could it possibly do?
-
I want your push bar:mad: NOW! Anyhoo... how are you liking the rear discs... i just did mine on the Wagon as well and wow, what a difference... I can ... stop. its neat:lol:

Last time I checked the Rx-8 uses a version of the 13B a 1300cc... I've also owned 2 rx7s and might note that rotaries are good motors in light cars that don't need torque. The first gen Rx-7 was the best rotary car IMHO. Ohh and FYI any engine kept at high RPMs is awesome, its the low down that is the rotaries fatal flaw, and where a Subaru shines. I just prefer off the line power without having to rev the motor to 3 grand to get the car going.
-
Change the fuel filter and reset the ECU when transferring to ethonal.. there's a guy in CO running a late 80 SPFI wagon on E85 with no problems.

rotary engines are silly useless devices... its the only motor swap that could have given the Rx less torque:mad:

Look what I found for a GL

big down side to the tornado/vortex valve/sprial max is that the tin snipped aluminum that they use is fricken sharp. I have one... a sprial max... I didn't buy it. It was just inside my intake when I bought the car... it doesnt do anything... it might just maybe decrease your emissions by a touch... WRXes have something far more complex that is used for emissions thats the same basic principal.... these things suck -

I drive for a living and typically when I work I drive 350-500 miles a day... during school that makes it about 70k a year, working 3 days a week and saturday...but I only have school for 6 months. During normal non school times I drive about 96k a year.. grand average I get about 83k a year or so... all that on a 02 toyota Corolla... I barely get 5k on my personal cars each year:lol: -
Run a Sooobie on Water? ...
kingbobdole replied to Davalos's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
is that water purifier hooked up to the air cleaner cover bolt or is that just me? I have actually been thinking of a water powered soob recently. I was thinking if I could make mirrored cams (twice the lobes, the other opposite the stock ones) I could turn a SPFI or carby car into a stream engine by forcing steam down the intake and bolting a condenser to the exhaust. It'd be basically a 2 stroke, but it should have gobs of torque:banana: Maybe I'm just a bit nuts:-p -
Master Huck says that only the legacy diffs work.... donno why, still getting info...

Aftermarket gl taillights

I'll add my two cents simply because, hey, Its not every day I agree with GD, but HE IS RIGHT:banana: Not every Japanese car is a "rice burner" and if you think that, then you simply do not know what one is. A Rice burner is a car that simply, has more show then go. Basically you see mods for looks over function. A stock subaru has no mods, its not rice. Take that same Subaru, hack/rust the muffler off and put a metal wing on the rear deck, and ding, its rice. Take a different sedan, drop an EJ Turbo into it, put a hood scoop on, not rice. Rice is like redneck, not all Ford trucks are redneck, but add a gun rack and you are there its all in the mods -

PICTURE THEIF! -
Ok, so I'm dropping an EJ25 into my Rx and swapping in favor of the legacy tranny. I know I need the tranny the starter and the rear end, but have a few questions. Answer what you can:banana: 1. Can I swap my LSD chunk into the Leg rear diff with a touch of work? 2. What rear ratios are available in the legs? I saw a 4.11 today and was surprised. 3. Driveshaft? What do I do? I assume that I can use my stock one. 4. Are the imps the only ones that had 23 splines in some cases? Any leg stuff will work right? 4. Anything else to note? Thanks!

Uhhhh.... Z injectors do not work in a 6. Anyways, my 6 is on hold simply because my Rx decided to blow up and I'm swapping in a EJ25 for mileage.... ohh and its like 160 HP:banana: Anyway as far as my 6, I kinda hope it holds together for a little bit before it blows, but when it does, I won't be too sad... unless I cannot find an EZ30 cheap:grin: My plan, seeing as I have most of the parts, is to run the smaller stock early 90s Legacy turbo(VF11?) at 7 psi with the JDM TT legacy AWIC. My biggest issue ATM is the up pipe and clearance. I have the turbo cross member, but really don't want to do that swap, XT-6 PS fluid ain't cheap. Other then that I'm going to rig the hell out of it using a sandwich adapter for the oil and dumping the turbo coolant into the intake via the heater core lines. I already have a custom intake so everything else should be pretty straight forward.
