  1. Just so you know mike, my 6 has started to do this as well when I'm hard on it as well.. I have NO IDEA how the oil gets that far up and out that filter, but it manages. Heres a question for the group... How do we all feel about plugs? Just plug the damn thing totally off. Do the gasses really need to escape that badly? Other then that how about a screen in the tube? maybe some mesh to help keep the oil down.
  2. First, locate your capslock key... push it. Try not to yell, thanks. Second, turbos plus high loads like big tires usually means no good. You need lots of instant torque to move those things, and the turbo's not where its at. For driving on the street? sure, go for it..... Wheeling on the other had is going to make you replace the clutch all the time and be no fun:-\ You should drop it instead:banana:
  3. OMGRXSWITHXT6WHEELSAREHAWTTTTTT!!!!!!! How do I make your pics bigger?
  4. not only that... but I think his car is stock... just yellow... like mine:banana:
  5. there are about.... 9 yards that I go to locally.. only 2 of them charge me $1 to get in... 2 of them(not the same 2) are an over the counter operation and have higher prices and some of the ones out in the boonies have an extremely low turn over rate (unless the price of steel goes up) I carry lots in my bag, including pin pounches to get those axles, sockets, wrenches, pliers, vise grips, and some times even some PB Blaster.. I have a backpack for carrying that stuff in cuz sometimes all of it can get quite heavy, and carrying that and lugging around a rear end in the yard is hard to do.
  6. Your Rx is hotter then mine... wanna trade? How bout you just gimmie your wheels?
  7. maybe you can get one of those "STi SRT4 hodna dodge pickup diesel matco snap-on ground wire super complete kit" off Ebay and freshen up your grounds... if that doesnt work you can always school-bus-it-up and drag some chains behind ya:banana:
  8. Theres a bright yellow late 90s LGT running around local as a cab... I'll yell at him next time I see him to tell me his miles.
  9. Its special since the cylinders have been horned:lol: It's a nice looking truck, not prefect, but pretty close. $7500 is amazing tho for one in this jumpseat-free condition
  10. I have no idea what you just said, and I read it twice:confused: What I ment is that the Subaru SPFI wouldn't have nearly enough fuel flow to support a supercharger. The thing would probably start to lean out at about 5 psi or so, and have serious issues at twice that.
  11. its neat, but I have an issue with his electronic lazyness... instead of trimming the wires to needed lenght, he bundles them up and put them behind the glove box door?!?! Way to drop the ball on that one:-\
  12. another problem is that ... its a loyale which 90% of the time means SPFI. talk about an overworked fuel system.:-\
  13. Anyway, Jeff aside(whos just pissed because a few sundays ago I proved my driving skillz>Jeff's unskilled nesss by out running him in a loaded Rx.)... I've never presonally swapped the stubs, but assume that you could. you must use the turbo stubs. Turbo stubs allow you to use the stock XT6 alxes, and ALL XT-6s, auto or MT5 have the same axles. I hope thats clear...
  14. Did someone seriously ask XT guys for pics? Thats a mistake:brow: Or maybe I'm just a picture whore:lol:
  15. Just a note. I've done lots of HGs with the motor in the car... its a cake job if you have racheting wrenches... once you get the cam carriers off, you have TONS of room.
  16. Firstly, dont listen to Jeff, he's a crazy rice boy:lol: Secondly, Jeff ADJUST YOUR CLUTCH! And now for the matter at hand. I had some issues finding the right clutch for my car... The 2wd flywheel and clutch combo is smaller, but I dont know about the 2wd turbo fly, if its the 4wd job or the 2wd job.... kinda a missing link. If you have the turbo 2wd fly and it is smaller, get the turbo 2wd clutch and your golden.... problem is that I think all the turbo cars, 4wd or not, use the bigger 4wd clutch/fly. Here are the 2 problems.. 1 is the axle splines... you MUST get a turbo tranny. the other is the clutch splines.. a 2wd N/A clutch WILL NOT FIT a tuurbo tranny... the turbo has a bigger input shaft. Trust me, I had a 2wd N/A setup and it didnt work.. in Fact I went to Luk and got a "turbo 2wd" clutch kit and after they called me a liar, I took the whole damn tranny down town to show them the clutch would not fit... then he tried to convince me my tranny was 4wd.... and it was sitting on the counter! Anyway, there are 2 ways to do it, either get the 6 set up or get a 4wd flywheel (turbo or non) and then the Turbo clutch. As far as holding power goes, dont worry about it. Your not speed ricer Jeff and your cars not a big power car, It'll be fine if your good to it. BTW Jeff, the stock turbo power is like 110, and IIRC the 87.5 had the same clutch and 130 HP... whats another 15 ponies? ~The End
  17. I've said it before and I'll say it again. return the EFI to stock, injectors and all. reset the ECU. Then, realise that when you rigged the PCV system, you did it wrong and theres your blowby.... Did you plug the intake side hoses? did you plug the PCV? Did you connect the two valve covers? If you broke a ring land.. you'd know it. You just need to stop focusing on building power ATM and go back to basics... like idleing. I doubt its really broke, just check it over again, you just need to shake out the ol' scooby goons
  18. I've seen these cars get so hot to the point where they vapor lock... then the motor stalls... and the oil can boil too.... its a head unfriendly experance:-\
  19. it may be a crappy tstat.. its OEM FTW on that part, try pulling the tstat out ( do you really need heat right away this time of year?) and get a new rad cap and see if it still overheats... if it does you either need a radiator, have a blockage or need HGs.
  20. It was a snoozer, you didnt miss much... it was Mike in his bros 3 door, me in the panda Rx, Jeff in his "6", Tom's "eyesore", and 120 WRXs. ohh... and a few Evos
  21. Phils tip of the day: Leave that damn mechanical fan on it. change the T-stat and rad cap. Other then that your car is questionable electronically... What AAV did you use? the spider on or the stock one? what comp are you running again? Did you actually buy new plugs? Have you actually checked the timing? Also, do you have any moniter on the fuel system, like a A/F gauge? is it running rich?
  22. I think I hammered a 5/16 on mine after I rounded one of the sides... its was hell getting it back off:dead:
