  1. My NAPA carries it on the shelves... copper too:banana:
  2. Wheres the Jeff repelant? RWARG! Anyhoo, I got the alt in today and it seems to be doing much better... I'll drive it around a bit and see... plus my old "Blue and Gold" alt is now for sale as well... stock, just painted it seems... The less painted crap on this truck the better it looks.
  3. my carbbed stock 87 4x4 mt5 got about 30 ish mpg... but it had a bad accel pump so I couldnt really floor it... now 29" tires and SPFI it gets about 24 or so. 84 BRAT stock carb and tires was getting about 12... now it has SPFI and is being tested... My 89 XT6 gets about 22 around town and 25 on the highway... thats speeds between about 60-well... fast on the way from CO to NC.
  4. NEW PROBLEM.... With the heater, wipers, headlights and turn signal on you can hear the poor fuel pump struggling and the truck kinda surges lightly due to lack of electrical power... so I'm gonna put in a EA82 Alt..... Just a heads up to anyone doing this swap
  5. I cant help thinking about the BRAT I'm selling for $3K:eek: Basically its a market price... It has to be Very nice and sold in the right place... In my case, I cannot really sell my BRAT at that price on a GM board, and really, the way the subaru community is, I'm not really betting on selling it here either... We like our rus old, slightly needing of love and baught from a little old lady thats had it 20 years and only wants $250 for it:banana: Not that I did that, I got mine from Rick... But like someone else said, its a collector thats willing to see what he wants, in the condition that he wants thats going to pay that kind of cash for it... The lines different for everyone.... For me, mine modded to the hilt(cept tires), virtually rust free, and good clean running make mine(I think) worth that. Just my 2 cents Ohhh... and those rims are PIMP!
  6. Whats the best way to get the wiring off the roof? Duct tape down the A pillar?
  7. As far as the V8 goes, weight is an issue, no matter the power... its not moving the weight thats the problem, its the handeling... Just ask anyone with a V8 in a Datsun Z car... Always have to buy tires, and I've never heard of a RWD car that understeers so much:-\
  8. I'm 6'4" and when I sit in the jump seats, my feet hit the tailgate... so I'd say no
  9. Theres no sleeper quite like a beige Turbo SW... right Noss? I saw white... how boring! What about "puke" that came on the SVXes? That brown purple... Ewwwww
  10. I'll be pimpin my 6:banana: Rims, paint and hopefully Turbo..... yeah Turbo... I just need to get to the audi dealer for a 2.7 T badge, then I can get it all hooked up:burnout:
  11. HISSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS How is my "wing" so "huge"? Its a stock Rx wing.... its not like its metal and four feet off the car.... Louvers are not rice either...they are PIMP... camaros with louvers are not rice just because they have louvers. If my car is rice its for one of two reasons A. its lowered incorrectly (aka. a stock BMW M5 is not rice just cuz its lowered) But that will be fixed thanks to my new coilovers. coilovers > cut springs:headbang: And B. its krylon yellow... but it came that way and its look was rather low on the list.. but I'tll have one color of paint for the next meet... Def: Rice- 1. Modding a car in a rigged or incorrect, non-quality way. See: Ghetto 2. a tasty snack If you're gonna call my car rice, at least know why it is, now stop hi-jacking my SPFI thread!
  12. I saw one for sale at a "dealer" on colfax for the longest time... white car, red and like blue pinstripe, said RS on the doors and rear, it had mud flaps... pretty Boss...
  13. Hey... Due to overwhelming responce to the want for a parts list: look up snowmans SPFI EA82 conversion. As far as parts goes, find a nice loyale, 90s stuff is easier to do. Pull: Intake manifold with sensors, harness, TB, MAF the works... Fuel pump with harness and mount Fusable link The computer... The dizzy... I think thats all... You should get new o2 sensor and intake man gaskets and fuel filter... you also need PCV hoses and fuel line, cap and rotor for the dizzy and the like.... Snowman says to get the entire computer harness, but I prefer the custom way, so I build my own to suit my needs. I totally recommend it! Snowmans: http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=28620&highlight=ea81%20spfi%20conversion Good luck everyone... and once again, Snowman rocks. Truck runs a billion times better with an O2 BTW!
  14. Ok... Before... When Rick the Ghetto MASTER had it the motor looked like this: Now I have it, its slightly less Ghetto: The conversion went fairly well except for the small issues I had due to being lazy mostly... I did redo the dizzy and got a file on the one end so that I could actually bolt it down: Then I went to autozone to get some new vac hose due snapping one on the EGR valve solenoid and a fancy Ricer-lucious Air filter so it would fit in the limited space provided... sounds beefy: The ECU is only kinda held where its sitting... a long bolt in the rear keeps the pooling water off the ECU and makes it sit levelish: The EGR and canester solenoid are also just chillin': The other side shows that I had to run the harness behine the TB: Heres the fuel pump... I took the stock mount a cut one of the bolts off it... then rebolted the new one one... this was SOOOOO easy... Not lack of bolts holding the mount in... someone else sheared them off:mad:: Still need a solution here:-\ The rest of the pics can be had Here: http://photobucket.com/albums/a190/kingbobdole/BRAT/ I also didnt get an O2 in it yet... really need to.. its snowing currently and that makes the efi unhappy... car purrs like a kitten but hesitates bad... as far as power goes... It feels very fast for the brat... much faster then the carb, but its been so long since I've driven it... I can tell you its faster then my Station Wagn' :burnout:But then again... whats not?:-\ I have a video of it running but have dial up... maybe Noss can save me. And starting..... NOW! its for sale for sure... I'll put it on Ebay when I get the O2 into it.
  15. What he said^^ plus nuthing beats 4WD LO when dragging racing on the street in the snow... Slaying mustangs in a 90 hp Station Wagon FTW! Any hoo about the AA lift... I had some issues and I also did the flexy upper hose from NAPA... also the directions SUCK (if they are the same) and make sure you pull the spedo off the tranny, the grounding wires and such... I had no dizzy wire troubles, and no steering linkage issues that werent just me.... I did have to make a longer kickstopper. The Rear is cake... like an hour job... the front is the pain, but not bad, I think I still got the front togather in about 6 hours (lots of kit troubles)... I have 29"ishs on AA rims on my wagon.... and most of the fender work was done by my 15 Lbs friend... at 2 am:brow: Really not that much work to bash the fenders nice... much easier to do then install the kit for me(or at least more stress reducing)... BTW the more rust you have the easier its going to be to mod the fenders:eek: Tips: get lots of 4x4s blocks off wood.... borrow all the jack stands you can find... 2 jacks makes it easier.. and get a can of PB Blaster!
  16. It Runs! Its Ghetto as hell ATM so I'll mop it up tomarrow and take pics. The ways its ghetto cuz I was rushed: ~I accidentally switched the fuel lines, press and return cuz I did them tired originally...reswitched...Rating: not that ghetto at all, just an issue... ~I dont have an air filter for it yet, and theres no place for the box ol' box , and I didnt have a filter sooo... the box is on the spare tire deck with a K&N from a Ford Focus chillin inside...Rating: pretty Ghetto. ~The dizzy is 180 degrees out becuase I dont know how to find TDC for #1 where the cams in the right spot on an EA-81... I have to take the EFI apart slightly to get the dizzy out(rather ghetto) so I just moved the plug wires around till they were 180 out.... Also, the dizzy needs the adjustment hole trimmed so I can bolt it down... its being held in by hopes and dreams and held "in time" by the block coolant recirc hose....Rating: Really Ghetto ~The EA-82 wagon I did this on had an extra spot for another fusible link inside its link box... the BRAT does not... so I just covered the ends in electrical tape and electrical taped it to the side of the fusible link box. Rating: I can't believe that I did that Ghetto... I'll clean those few things up and post some fancy pics tomarrow...
  17. I just got that exhaust built before The Dragon last year... they charged me $250 at like mineke... that was about 100 of a high flow muffler, 25 for the tip and 125 or so for the cat back 2.5".... Rick also paid in the 125-150 range since he has no cat on the Datsun, and brought his own muffler... thats header back.... Just a side note... hit up awd or hai... I got a 2.5" high flow cat off a guy on awd for $20.... only slightly used:banana:
  18. I know the WRX downpipe works for sure.... and I dont see why the up pipe wouldn't.... hit up NASIOC
  19. AHHH!! Roundeye has my twin! 4" AA AA wheels with 29"s wal-terrains. Eyebrows
  20. You should see my lifted wagon corner... talk about body roll:-\
  21. fifth'd on the Plug and play.... also maybe if you made the ignition control PnP with some Dizzy-less ign for da 6:brow:
