  1. just a thing of note... I have the carb blcok spfi as well... since its lower compression you can run a ton of extra timing! Makes it fastAR!
  2. NO COMENDEERING THIS THREAD. This is a thread about wheels and wheels accessories. Start your own "How to break your XT-6" thread please. And for God's sake, learn how to type.:-p ---------------------------------------- ~Only yellow lowered FWD 5-speed XT-6 Ever ~87 Lifted "outback" wagon ~84 BRAT For sale, Rick not included
  3. I say black... its got my vote... then the beauty rings and caps, and it'll look nice.... As for Jeff... I wanna rematch.... the station wagon wants to 4Lo your arse! ---------------------------------------- ~Only yellow lowered FWD 5-speed XT-6 Ever ~87 Lifted "outback" wagon ~84 BRAT For sale, Rick not included
  4. I totally disagree with the person that said bad lifters only cause increased pressure... I've seen lifters stuck at the top of their game, not compressable at all... I would think that the valve would stay open longer, causing lack of compression... If I'm not shot down as being nuts the firsty thing you might try(since it doesnt involve distrubing the HG) is to pull the cam carrier and pull the lifters and see if you can compress them... if you cant try soaking them. You said you had cracks in the head? That MIGHT be an issue as well..

  6. You can think of the rear defroster as a light bulb... its just a wire with reisitance running through the glass... First thing I'd do is "relay-it-up". pull the existing wires, make that the signal for the relay and run something heavier to the battery... You have to be dedicated to do all that, but it will ensure that you are getting full power to the defroster... or you could just check the voltage and amp draw. ---------------------------------------- ~Only yellow lowered FWD 5-speed XT-6 Ever ~87 Lifted "outback" wagon ~84 BRAT For sale, Rick not included
  7. Nice score. Thing of note they didnt make loyales till like late 1990. Your 86 is probably a GL-10 Station Wagon... When you said turbo loyale.. I got all excited:slobber: ---------------------------------------- ~Only yellow lowered FWD 5-speed XT-6 Ever ~87 Lifted "outback" wagon ~84 BRAT For sale, Rick not included
  8. ER27... uhh EA82... whats so scary about timing belts...? Its not like they are hard to do, really. Plus its got da power and its quite a bit more updated then the 81. Hydro lifters are more common in the 82 too(although my BRAT has hydros:rolleyes:) Push rods are old technology, OHC is THE MAN!
  9. FTW!!! I'll add that to my sig:brow: ------------------------------------------------ ~Only yellow lowered FWD 5-speed XT-6 Ever ~87 Lifted "outback" wagon ~84 BRAT For sale, Rick not included
  10. I'll be bringing my lifted station wagon and leaving the BRAT and XT6 at home this time....
  11. I have the AA mod clearance lift and cannot remove the rear axles with out at least loosening the rear diff
  12. Ok... This is what I know, and I'll try to keep it simple. The difference in 4wd vs awd is what happens in the center of the car. Think two driveshafts going from the front and rear to the center(even though that not 100% true) Typically AWD has either a diff or clutch pack in the center allowing the front "driveshaft" to spin at a different rate then the rear, making up for a difference in all the tires speeds aka. cornering. Typically the 4wd system has no such thing... its "locked" the front drive shaft to the rear driveshaft. so the power is put 50/50 front to rear. As far as I know a true open diff AWD system, you could get only 1 tire to slip and be stuck where in a basic open diff 4wd system, you have to have 2 wheels slip... But since the 4wd system doesnt allow the driveshafts to be at different speeds and since the rear of a car does NOT follow the front exactly, the rear will "hop" to make up the difference in tire speeds. AWD is better for the street and 4wd better for adverse conditions... like big mud pits:brow:
  13. All your BRAT are belonging to us! BWAHAHAHAHA!!! This brat ROCKS! Its so sweet I may not sell it and just keep it and pimp it... Why would anyone sell this magical car? Maybe the lack of exhaust and the fumes got to his brain.. I donno... all I know is my BRAT is sweet. I also do see you pineing for subarus... they are so easy to work on. The Datsuns fun to, but that ghetto EFI really, really scares me... no O2... WTF were they thinking... really? You always join him... when ever you break your car... which is often.
  14. I think well just get something somewhere... there are gonna be tons of people at this meet me thinks... awd pirates, hai even the leg gt board all have peeps coming and thats just what I know about
  15. This sunday at red rocks.... check the meet and greet section
  16. I also have another lifted Ru... Lifted Rus rock... we need even more in colorado
  17. I dont think that its a cracked head... the car smells like coolant burning off the top of the engine... I just think its a very slow leak... my cars just recently blew the heater hoses, so I'd start there then move to the turbo, but the turbo would keep the coolant from getting to the ground... The reason her internal car heater doesn't work well is cause the mix door doesnt move very well, I need to get under the center console and check out the cable. :-\
  18. I'd be game... I have a rather good knowledge of EA82s, even though my speciality is in the much cooler ER27.... Maybe you should just convert it to da 6! Just kidding... maybe we all could car pool in da MonstAR wagon.... Sundays is always good for me, I'll even bring some tools.... like Jeff. Sorry, I had to.
  19. You know your a subaru guy if....... You take pictures of a strangers station wagon:rolleyes:
  20. No... no grillin for me... I figure with the imp and leg guys there that we all will just go get something to eat. We should go crash at someones house that isnt mine and play some GT:brow:
  21. I got the moderate lift on my EA82 wagon. 1. I did have to change the rad hoses, the lower one I just cut to fit, but the upper one I got a flexy one and it works better then the stock one. I also had to get longer fuel lines and ground wires to some things... 2. I have not gotten an alignment, but need one, my car always had a pull in it and its also usually a good idea to get one if you mess with the suspension components. 3. As far as having a lifted car, I love it, but I had a few issues with the components, install and AA its self. When I first got my lift 2 things were big problems... my tranny crossmember/strut rod drop mounts were wrong... I had to drill them out to get them to work. My front upper camber block were also very wrong... AA sent me new upper mounts, but my camber is still off, and I dont care to try anymore. Other things I did was to make a pitch stopper cuz mine was too short... I cut it in 2 threaded both end(one LH one RH) and made a sleave and blind nuts for it, so its adjustable... which in hind sight I shoulda just cut 2 apart and welded them back togather... I also cut my shifter linkage apart and added a nut and welded it back togather cuz I had issues where the car would kick its self out of 1st and 3rd gear. I also had some shift linkage problem, but figured it out eventually... I'd give it 3 out of 5 stars... love the lift and the huge wagon on 29's... like the welds on the part, but the correctness of the parts is questionable... I didnt have any trouble with the Rear BTW.. that was an hour job... very straight forward. ohh last thing. the instructions suck. Dont depend on them for anything, like part alignment or anything, if you dont know what a 1" drive line extensions look like, you just have to assume your doing it right. It also never tells you to disconnect your grounds or spedo cable... they just need to be more complete. [/rant]
  22. Hey... You can go back to carb, but I wouldnt recommend it... look for "snowman"s SPFI conversion manual it will help you wire your SPFI, and its the better way to go, its very easy to wire... basically 1 step above a carb, but its got better power, relialibility, and fuel milage... Wouldn't use ford parts on a subbi engine myself... thats bad mojo:rolleyes:
