  1. Whats up with your fueling? Usually the jaggedyness is fueling issues... but at like 3 grand it gets super rich... whats up with that?
  2. ok, I donno EA81s that well, so I can tell you how to do the timing on the 82 as I had issues with this as well. BTW This is how I do it and it works, but this is not how I see to do it in the crappy chiltons or haynes I have. Firstly Whip out the timing light and get an assistant. Connect the green connector if you have one. Check the timing. No matter where you got the gear on the dizzy, you just have to adjust it right. Make sure you get the motor to TDC and then move it to 20 degrees BTDC... thats where the engine will fire #1. You might take the cap off and see where the thingy points when you line up the mark at the bottom.... should line up @ #1... I usually mark the top end where the rotor points with a sharpie so I know where its supposed to be. Then the wind up as the dizzy will turn as you install it, so counter wind it and hold the rotor in place as you install so that the rotor points to #1 when the engine is 20 degrees BTDC. Good luck
  3. I'm dumb, so I'm gonna try and dumb it down. So what you are saying is that the engine is not making anymore physical power aka, the horsepower when measured at the crank is still the same. BUT the "driveline" has been made more efficent so the horse power measured at the wheels is greater. Right?
  4. Ok, I know how to get the axles out... I just want to know how to get them APART..... Numbchux, you had it right the first time, WJMs got it too, but whats the trick to the in car pull apart. The other axle was the one with the failed outer boot... but this outer boot is fine so its being a pain. I really dont want to pull the axle all the way out, but I will if I gotta then I'll just put it in a vice and smack the 5417 out of it. Honda axles have the same circlip and they come out so easy...........
  5. Hey... My front CVs are bad, real bad so I was going to pull them apart while in the car, leaving the spindle alone and only taking the inner and axle parts. I'm about 1/2 way done where I got the drivers side axle out, but now the pass side is being a @#$%@#$(!!!!!! Basically my question is how do you get the axle out of the spindle? Whats the magic that I unknowlingly did the first time, but couldn't replicate... I did a quick search, but came up short. Thanks
  6. Dude. Periods are your friends. In order to do a picture you must have it hosted elsewhere. Get a free anglefire site or something like that. Someone here might show up and offer to host it for you as well. Rx'es are pimp BTW. Welcome to the group.
  7. Soooooo........... Tomarrow would be the 20th.........
  8. Two things... Have you tried the rear door for unlockedness? I locked the keys in my wagon listening to the radio in the drive and the rear door shut its self while I was getting a soda. I freaked and checked the rear gate... it was open. Other thing is to find someone else keys and try them... Roni locked her keys in her Acura and I used the wagon key to unlock it. nissian keys also work. Try it.
  9. Hey... Same thing happened to me, but I got a code of 5.... I made my own harness from scratch and I had forgotten to hook up one of the power feed wires to the ECU... then all was good... Other then that get the volt meter out and the wiring diagram out and check the ignition and fuel pump relays.... old relays can lead to death, but I'm betting it a grounding or power wiring issue.
  10. Yeah.. Roni/Cutie-ru/my girl friend has Steves old 9.5:1 Turbo XT... running the stock EFI system... no issues at all... Maybe at sea level without intercooled, but I dount that I'll have problems with a carb block as I'm pretty sure the carb has lower compression the the EFI blocks... but still higher then the turbo compression... I plan to only run "some boost" mostly for the fuel milage:rolleyes:
  11. Not to jump into you crazies being mean to each other when a third party asked a simple question but.... I would say that the wiring is a big issue, but for some, like me, its rather easy. I can read electrical diagrams and uderstand them as I just made my own harness for my SPFI car, which granted is a much smaller and simpler system, but I did it quickly none the less. As stated the Engine will fit, but you need to make some simple things happen... Firstly You'd PORBABLY need to get custom motor mounts. I doubt that the stock ones from either car would work. Second you'd either have to get a tranny adapter to keep your stock tranny, or swap your tranny for a legacy one... The latter is probably easier. Other then that you have to source all the parts, but it'd be one hell of a ride. This is not a light amount of work either, and not for the faint of heart. Thisis something you cannot do to a daily driver as its not an overnight project if you get my drift. I say go for it, take pics, and let me drive it when your done.... I also have always wanted to get the EZ30 in my car.. now that would be big pimpin'
  12. Hey... Scratch the need for meat... I'll bring like 30 dogs and 18 burgers from costco(dey good) and you all can divy up between chips and sodas and buns and stuff... I kinda want to make this kinda a pot luck... that was the thought. So just give a hollar of what you want to bring... if anything. probably need plates and the like too btw... ohh Dr Krazy... my wagon ran..... like a carbbed wagon.... Started everytime, sometimes needed some help when hot... real slow but fairly good on gas.... Lots of new seals on it since I rebuilt it in like feb...but the car sat for a few years... sooo.. yeah it could use a clean out again, but could be used right away with few issues... I'd sell it to you cheap though... manifold and all:brow:
  13. w00t! I finally did mine a few weeks ago.... Snowman can tell you he sent me that manual like in March or so, but its done now and I'm lovin every gas sippin second of it! ohh and DA POWA!
  14. I'm getting ready to Turbo my 6.... hopefully BEFORE The Dragon run next year so I can show off all my bling. My current plan is the low pressure one... My goal is about 200 horse, which I think is attainable with all the mods I have to current. My major use of compontents comes freshly stolen off of a Turbo Legacy... chop off the old flanges on the exhaust and weld on new XT-6 ones... the turbo and all and I'm either going to add a 5th injector or MegaSquirt it. The Megasquirt is over there int eh corner---> mostly cuz I fear it I dont want to readily use it. I also plan a nice AWIC with a small tank and Front Mounted Heater Core(FMHC) to keep things cool, but my list of parts to get is still fairly long. I have the header and turbo... now just the down pipe, gauge collection, BOV , intercooler and I'll be ready. Ohh.... My second point. Never been to a dyno with my car BUTT.... I have installed that lightweight pulley shown as I was on my like 4th pulley failing..... I notice a difference in its ability to rev faster... mostly in the corners when I gun it, its responce is MUCH better... Well worth the $160-$180 I spent on it for sure... plus its cool. Ohh and if anyone needs an EJ22T... I have one... magically for sale...
  15. Strange question.. and thread slight hijack...... Has anyone ever turbo'd an SPFI car? Seems like you could take the regular turbo stuff and just drop it on.... ... ... and since my wagons freshly converted to SPFI... so its lower compression.... and I have said turbos/manifolds and such.....
  16. Hey... My stupid, cant remember, cant find the answer question of the month is this: I have a 4wd D/R MT non turbo GL wagon and need front axles... Can anyone break down the interchange for axles... like.. will the rears fint on the front? I know there is a difference between the turbos and non, but what about autos? All the other soobs I have ever had were all FWD.... XTs... either 6's or Turbos so they have all had the 25 spline... I assume that my wag is 23, but I'm unsure... also what years will fit and the like...Thanks
  17. probably just need some tweaking... and some new parts to help stumbles... First check the air and fuel filters out... then got for plugs wires cap and rotor and then an O2 sensor will do wonders.... Also check the coolant temp sensor for corosion.... all these things are very easy and cheper to do your self BTW.... good luck and welcome
  18. http://www.ci.lakewood.co.us/index.cfm?&include=/CR/Regional/bclpfrontpage.cfm ^ more info there BTW... enter for a day is $4
  19. We should stuff my old BBQ grill into the back of Erik's Turbo wagon since mine will be FILLED with parts... then we can cook burgers and dogs... Hows up for some BBQn'?
  20. I'm pretty sure that the CARBBED EA82 is 8.5:1 compression.....
  21. not I... but hes got like 6 more days so I'm confident that he'll get it to me on time and not make a fiasco that was the wheel group buy.
  22. As said you'd have to make/get made a manifold... When I did mine, I did it the hard way, making my own harness, man what a PITA, but it works and I am currently running without an O2:-p and still getting almost twice the gas milage!! 200 miles on half a tank so far and its got more power and idles better and acclereates and.......
