  1. it goes thru spurts. itll be buzzing for a few months then dead. http://www.subaruxt.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=13031 this is probably one of the nicest ones out there and has been for sale for sometime.
  2. that much water that quick id bet its a cracked head. less likely to be an intake crack because it would have to leak past the valves and i doubt that much would get thru that quick. a EJ swap is going to take longer than a weekend and rebuilding the original is going to take more than a weekend. machining and replacing what ever is FUBAR in there might thake a week. a used EA motor IMHO is always a crapshoot as to wheather or not you will get a good one. time to get those heads off... and i mean NOW gotta get that coolant out of there before it causes any other damage. plugs look like they were pretty bad as well. drain all the coolant you can out of the cooling system and then pull the heads off its the only way to find out whats going on. it only takes about an hour to get them off so get to cracking.
  3. no rolled it dodging a WRX on a logging road.... long story lol
  4. fun car to drive! but they ar a money pit. mine was great motor is strong and if you can find a 5 spd swapped one the trans is no longer an issue. have you checked out http://www.subaru-svx.net/forum/ yet? thasts an awesome bank of knowledge and alot of helpful people over there. good luck they are alot of fun!
  5. thanks its a work in progress here are some before pictures

  7. good luck looks like itll be fun!
  8. and while running 6lbs on my RS i didnt change squat and it ran fine
  9. thats a question for the builders i just know enough about the car to answer simple questions lol the owner is a good buddy of mine who i turn wrenches with on the weekends. im actually suprised he hasnt posted yet as i know he has seen the article(its all over his facebooks as i reposted it about a hundred times) i know hes told me but my brain isnt firing correctly today. knowing him id guess he just retarded the timing a bit as it sounds that way but ill send him a txt and find out for sure
  10. greetings from vancouver washington. i currently own 3 subarus and have been around them for almost 10 years. i tend to avoid the forums but this one has such good info (and people) that i figured i should start using it so enough of all that.... picture time! newest member of the family bone stock 1995 ej22 AWD RHD legacy 1987 XT Turbo ej22t swap LSD AWD (still missing a few parts 5 lug swap stuff and a modified driveshaft) 1999 RS Coupe Eg33 supercharged (work in progress still need to finish final assembly)
  11. like i said on 7 lbs it seems to be stable and its got some guff now as well
  12. i think more than 9 lbs would make it likely to fail want mor boost get a different motor lol but thats just my 2 cents and if you are DDing it do you really want to risk an overboost? i know i wouldnt want to lol
  13. it makes 7 lbs which trust me is more than enough lol no boost leaks at least not the last time i saw the car (2 weeks ago) and hopefully ill be doing the body work this year. the concept was amazing just didnt have the time to put in the body last year. also the intercooler does work its just not super efficient. and how much boost do you really want? this thing walks away from my stock leggy on 7 pounds and its been running over a year reliable and quick seems like a win win to me
  14. im frustrated in trying to find these to the point of anger so im trying somthing different. im making a call out to all you owners who would like to someday have these availible at your local auto parts store. ive been vigorisly emailing doorman about reproducing factory spec replacement xt6 hubs and would encourage all of you to do the same. im sure if we all annoy them enough they will be on board as its easy money for them and easy swaps for us. http://www.dormanproducts.com/dispstati ... _Idea.html here is the link
  15. Hey heard a rumor you have previously done an ej22t swap into an 86 xt. Do you have any advice? Any problems I should look out for starting the prep tomorrow
