  1. that stuff doesn't work on int pieces, works great on bumpers and regular paint. I tried that on my brat (Grey interior) did nothing but make it VERY oily
  2. Could you post a link to where you bought them?
  3. I saw that in the USRM, great write-up by the way Im not ready to pull my distributor quite yet, but when I've had all I can stand I will. I still have no power to the coil, still tracing that issue.
  4. That cable is fine, I inspected that when I replaced the alternator 400 miles ago. Never taken my Brat to a subie dealer, and probably never will. My disty seems to be fine with no play in the shaft, although I do suspect the ignition module quite a bit now. All my fusible links test fine...
  5. As for polarity, thats how they worked before this problem. CHecked block to frame, block to Batt. And tranny to frame. Yes I hear a click
  6. All of the fusible links are good, fuse stays hot all the time, and the switch does work.
  7. So now on my 85 Brat I dont have power to the coil, and none of the dash is functioning. Still looking for the problem, any suggestions? Edit: by dash I mean battery volt meter, fuel gauge etc. The "dash lights" (ones activated by the headlight switch) still work
  8. PO bypassed the fuel pump on my brat (dont know why) been that way for years, works fine. Have done this on a few vehicals aswell
  9. Oh man, thats a great Brat... I'm so glad your sorta close to me, I can't wait to see it so nice. I scrambled to try and get that thing, haha. Get some pics up man and welcome to the board!
  10. And that, my good man, is why we own Subaru's
  11. I've used that stuff before, yeah it does have a very light tint. I haven't had a catastrophic failure yet, so im calling it safe.
  12. If it's beginning to fray it probably needs to be replaced, I learned my lesson the hard way with that. But If the cable is still intact, and you can see the clutch fork move with the spare tire off, I would adjust the cable out and see what that does. Any idea on how many miles on the clutch? And P.S welcome to the board, nice to see another Texan
  13. So, a week ago it was running fine... had been starting and ran very smooth. Drove to get some gas, it died, no more spark. Later on in the day... starts back up. what could it be?
  14. Ok, its doing it again. Was fine as of last post
  15. Man do these build threads make me grateful to have a Tx. Brat. Keep up the good work l, looks good:headbang:
  16. My mistake, it does pulse. I believe I found a ground that was not entirely grounded, when I fixed that it started. Thanks for your help and knowledge
  17. I did use a test light on the coil, (ground to the - on the battery) placed on the + side of the coil. It lit up, but also on the - side with, AND without any wires attached I dont know much about coils though, is that normal?
  18. Haha, watch it there But no, infact I replaced the ign. Lock and switch awhile back
  19. I did some searching and im still not too clear... 85 Brat, Ea81: did full Tune up the other day, now something is keeping it from sparking sometimes. If you tapped the coil it would start, so I replaced the coil. Its still doing the same thing. The wires are on right, the grounds are good as are the fusible Links. Everything looks right, and it seems to start at random. This morning it started right up with no missing, turned it off; not sparking anymore. I haven't checked the resistance on the new coil, but i figure "hey its new". Any help is greatly appreciated, thank you.
