  1. I have seen that one. And I like it a lot. There is a board member on here that has one on his 83 touring wagon: http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/topic/140565-1983-touring-wagon/ Looks real good. Anyways... sorry to thread jack.
  2. Coming of my hiatus for this one. I've looked into getting a sun visor. And have been unsuccessful in finding anything in the states. So I would certainly be interested in the visor. Even if it meant waiting a year or two. I think its an awesome idea. Keep us posted.
  3. Of it on the car? No. It's still on the spfi manifold, though. If that's what you're after.
  4. So a long overdue update is in order... So here's a pic This was right after the head gasket gave out. It ran suspiciously hot before, I considered the thought of HG failure but it didn't show any normal signs. Other that getting up to the 3/4 mark on the freeway. Slapped new HG on in a day and stabbed the new disty (old one was an EA81 hitachi with an ND gear jerry rigged to work). Now it doesn't dare go above the half-way mark. Surprise. It's been incident free other than the HG issue. Idk what the mileage count is, but its probably close to 2000 now. Still not lifted. A drift project will soon be in order, so funds are being saved for that. Rims and steel for blocks have been bought, though. Also yanked the EA81 out of my 85 Brat to re-seal it and add power steering. More on that later...
  5. Nice trans jack. Glad the camper turned out so well. I always thought that was a neat project. Keep up the good work.
  6. Thanks, Jono. That's some good advice. Flywheel was kept 23mm. I'm no longer at the location where it's kept. But I was able to drive it before I left. Will inspect that next time I'm there.
  7. I'm thinking about it, but I really want this done right.
  8. I'm thinking that it may be a stretched cable/bent fork because if I put a spacer on the cable I can get pedal.
  9. So amid the re-sealing of my 1985 brat I decided to replace the clutch. It's a factory Subaru 225mm 21 spline count. Replaced the pilot bearing and TO bearing, as well. Now there's no pedal. Clutch disk was installed exactly like the old one was, and is what FSM diagrams depict. Cable worked fine on last clutch. Pilot is installed flush with flywheel. TO bearing is on the only way it will go. Fork is on the pivot... Bent fork?!?! I don't know. I just dropped the engine in last night (2am) and I'm not too inclined to pull it back out. But if I need to; I need to know. Ask me all the questions in the world. I really need this fixed as it has to go completely* back together so the city does flip out. Thank, guys
  10. Did all 4 of my front ones with a hammer, punch, and a big socket. Wasn't a difficult job. Just be patient with it. Getting then out is easy, too. Just hammer them from behind. I opted to take my knuckle off for this job.
  11. http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/topic/110178-offrood-faq/ Lots of good info in the Offroad section.
  12. That's a nice find! Good luck with the project.
  13. It looks like there is two different ignition lock assemblies listed for 3rd gen cars. The first being 85 & 86, then the second being 87 on. My question is: do they interchange? I know parts listings are all screwy for older Soobs... and I have nothing to compare to in person. I need one for an 86 gl, and it's already been destroyed. Hopefully you can help me out Thanks everyone.
  14. Willy is a member here. He has some videos somewhere on this site. I'll see if I can find them for you. Edit:
  15. Went and picked it up Monday... In pouring rain. Bumpers look real good. We took a 50 mile journey to the ONLY EA82 that I could find to see if there were any parts that we could use. A 1991 Loyale sedan. Clean 65k mile car, 2wd auto. A shame it was hit. Had all 4 original hubcaps in the back. Not a dent or scratch on the car prior to wreck, it looks like. We ended up scoring the perfect Headlight, passenger side power mirror, the sensor for the AC compressor, and a Maxima alt for the wagon. I also grabbed the governor from the trans, fusible links, and axle washers. Good score. Sad to see such a nice example in the yard, too. Anyways... Got the Weber in, and on! Will smolder first (kinda ) and chirp second pretty good. Runs waaay better then the Rochester from the 327. Can you say RICH!?!? I had to use the throttle that it came with, unfortunately, since there was no carb to steal it from. Still works fine. Since I installed the sensor... presumably some type of revolution sensor? The Compressor runs like it should now and the AC bows satisfyingly cold. The interior was being cleaned and we are looking for a few parts before we have it legal. Going to order the 4" lift today or tomorrow... and plan on running 27" tires on 14s. Should look pretty good. Also saw my first Justy the other day. It was 4wd even! Going on vacation next week, so all the soobs will remain untouched. And give time for the lift to get here. Cheers
  16. Also... the decals say "Limited Edition." They appear to be factory. Any info on that?
  17. So my friend just sold his 97 k2500 for a whopping $4700 and wanted something more economical than a 10mpg 3/4. He digs the simplicity of my Brat, but didn't want another pickup. So when we went to pick up the spare trans that the guy had, my friend was really digging the wagon. This was two weeks ago. The wagon is still there and the guy took $600 for it. It runs and drives, but the carb is a nightmare. It doesn't know how to idle cold... But the excess money will take care of that. Car is straight as an arrow, and no apparent rust that I can find. Rear struts have springs from an accord I think he said. Go to pick it up sometime this week. List of imminent mods: 1. Weber 2. Lift & tires 3. Fix everything else 4. Stereo maybe? He and I will be working through a scheme that he wants to go through with one day as far as lift and tires go.... I'm excited to build this thing with him. It'll be the only one around. Oh, same guy who built this car. https://www.facebook.com/DallasZombiePatrol He also ended up with Ricearu's old GL wagon. Here's what became of it.... http://dallas.craigslist.org/ftw/cto/4495113303.html
  18. So... update, kinda. Both Brats are running just fine as before. The 84 is currently is under a tarp in the driveway at my mother's. And the 85 is in the driveway at grandma's! Picked this up the other day for $50 D/R 5spd Came out of a car that is currently sitting on an s10 frame. Claims that it ran fine. I'll rebuild it if I have to. Can't beat $50. Got the 2-piece drive shaft, as well. Stoked about that project. Just means that the SC project is on hold for now. This is a more practical thing to do tight now. Repaired the floor pan in the 84. Ugly, but solid. It may find a new home in the next year, if things go how I want them to. We shall see...
  19. Only talked to Ed through deals over the USMB, but he seemed like a really cool guy. My condolences go out to his family, and friends.
  20. I remember seeing this on CL not too long ago. Rust posted it in the CL section. I remember it being much cheaper, too. Still a neat little buggy.
  21. Very nice! Reminds me of these http://www.flygas.info/en/index.html What are you building these for?
  22. My bet is fire. Ignition coil, or pick up module in the dusty. Good looking brat. Has P/S, too. All you need is a tailgate. Pull a plug and check for spark.
  23. I love that generation of GM trucks. Buddy of mine has the k2500... 14in rear drums on that monster. Truck does not play. I Have mad respect for them. 35"s look good on there.
  24. The ones I have seen are made in Australia. Don't know if the us got them. You can buy them new for around $300 I think. It's been a while since I've looked. Shipping would be the problem. Edit: was way off on the price. http://m.ebay.com.au/itm/390816482952?nav=SEARCH
