Last run for the Legacy so it just might be. I can't get too crazy though because I still have to drive her home. If you're bringing straps I guess the only thing I need is a crescent wrench. Size 44 to be exact.

Total strut lift over stock geometry is only 2" and I've had ZERO issues with stock legacy axles on or off road. Every time someone talks about lifting their Legacy you cry about your Forester axle issues. It's not the same platform. To ThatSubaruKid.... Check out the Offroad section for more info, do the research, and if you have any questions about lifting your Legacy send me a PM.

Yes I now have a body lift but that is just within the last year. I had just the strut lift for a few years and had ZERO axle problems during that time.
-
Ditto. Fresh tune up and fresh axles up front. Need to put my driveline back in and I'll be ready for Saturday!
-
Not true. I've got a 7" lift and I hardly ever have axle trouble .

Negative. 1 Lucky Texan got it right. Clogged cat. I put my wheelin exhaust on because that was the only thing I hadn't tried and it loved it. So frustrating but at least I can go wheeling next weekend.

Fuel pressure 32. Swapped MAF and ECU. No change. New plugs. No change. All vac and pressure lines attached. New timing belt. No change. The only thing I've found out of spec is IAC resistance. 10.5 instead of 9. Would this cause the issue or am I missing something.

I haven't had the 5MT installed for a long time so no pics. I might still have the extended linkage around somewhere. If I do, you can have it.
-
Fuel filter was my first thought but no change after being replaced. TPS was recently gone through as well.
-
Engine starts and idles fine but bogs out and dies at 1500 RPM. I pulled the timing belt covers off to check the timing marks on the cams and it "looks" like it's still right. Swapped out the cam sensor to see if that was the problem but no change. When idling the left cam pulley looks like it might be wobbling slightly but could be an optical illusion. I checked the pulley to see if there was any play but it was solid. Any ideas?

+1!!!!!!!! I haven't been able to make the last couple of trips due to my car being broke or an empty wallet. It doesn't mean I didn't want to go just that I couldn't. Wheeling with Jeff and Rick has been a blast not just for the time in mud but in the shop too. Really...where else can you fix cars, watch hockey and chase squirrels at the same time?!

I'm tired of trying to find FWD MT Impreza axles for my D/R so I'm going to put different stub shafts in it so I can use the beefier stock Legacy axles. Since I'm going to have the tranny open can I /should I put in a helical LSD at the same time?

I like more organization and runs closer to home. Both Walker and Evans are a haul for me...makes me really miss Reiter. I agree about communicating with the guys who are close to you... I'm live close to Reid and Josh but have never hung out with either of you guys (and I could use help with a transmission swap tomorrow ). Your minimum trail requirements are good for the EA82's. For EJ's the requirements should be the same although from what I've heard Brian did pretty good with the an auto tranny but was that with a welded rear diff?
-
Looks like I might be out for this one too although I still want to come and ride along if anyone has room. I need to find another D/R...I think this one might be dead.
-
5MT shift linkage can be lowered but not the D/R. That is a pain in the @ss.
-
Good idea. Hopefully I'll only be in Snohomish County until June and then moving to Pierce County to be closer to work.
-
Can we change it to the 23rd?
-
I'm still around. The last run was too close to Christmas and right now my car is in pieces due to a strut nut jamming itself in the flywheel. As soon as I get her back together I'll be ready for another run. We already missed February so set one up for March... 3/23?

Got pics? Getting tired of the rubber band drive myself.

What size?

NorthCoast replied to Rust's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Just picked up an '86 GL10 Turbo Sedan last night for $250. Needs HGs and has some minor rust but other than that it's in good shape. PO saved the trim pieces that fell off so those were in the trunk and sent me home with enough oil and filters for two oil changes. Not going to lift this one. This will be either a complete resto or a rallyx, haven't decided yet.
