  1. Are we stopping for permits or is the office open before 9? Trying to make this one even though it's the wife's birthday. She agreed to go if I watch Season 4 of Real Housewives of New Jersey with her and take her out to dinner after the run. Oh the sacrifices one must make to get their family out into the great outdoors!:-p
  2. Josh, What is your plan for the sliders? 1.5 x 1.5? After this last run that mod is #2 on my to do list. K
  3. My doors still worked after that one but not after I got hung up on the pavers and you had to push me off. Looks like it's time to break out the sawzall and weld some tubing in along the bottom.
  4. No worries about the bumper. It was just tacked on so I didn't get a ticket. I know there were plenty of pics and some videos, including one of Jeff beating up on Butters. Hopefully they will be uploaded tonight. Anxious to see the one of me pinned against the tree coming down Ron's Run. #1 Lesson learned from the trip... Never trust an exhaust guy to do an important weld. Thanks Jeff for fixing it correctly!
  5. 99% ready myself. I had the car up on the lift yesterday and saw some new damage that needs to be addressed. Remember the weak spot you noticed with the lift when I was stuck on the rock? Well that bracket is bent and the hardware too. Not sure what I can do about it other than replace the hardware. Just something to think about when it comes to fabbing the lift for Turtle.
  6. No adjusting nut. It's welded to the shifter. Fixed it by driving back and forth and pushing the shifter down.
  7. I had to swap my engine due to a blown ring and now after the swap I only have 4high and low. When I try to shift between 2and 4 there is nothing where 4 high should be and 4 high is where 2 should be. Any ideas?
  8. I might just have to pick up an EA82 so I can get a free lift and one of those badass NWWO stickers! Just kidding...(sort of). If you guys ever need an extra hand on an install just let me know and I'll be there. I'd love to learn more about the EA series and pass on what I know about the EJ stuff.
  9. Excellent! I should be there as long as I don't break anything between now and then.
  10. Jeff...did you check the football schedule or was it coincidence you planned the sunday run for a bye week?
  11. You would have to check the length once the trans was installed and then check the rear yoke to see if it matches your rear diff.
  12. More like breaking things that needed to be fixed on the old ride. :-p Note to self: Fresh heads + tired short block = Excessive crank case pressure. So much pressure that you will lose your oil fill cap like a champagne cork on New Years. That motor is out and stripped down to the short block. Spare motor is in. She'll be ready for the next one.
  13. Trail was good. We only did one. My engine decide to act up on Conway hill on the way there and then I lost my oil cap half way through the first trail. Thanks to Rick's roadside chainsaw carving skills and a little help from Butters we made it out ok. Need to swap out the Frankenmotor for the stock 2.2 but other than that no major damage just a few new dents.
  14. You are making this way too difficult. It takes less than 5 min per side. I didn't have to drill any new holes at all, just slot the two inboard ones. Way easier than breaking out the spring compressors and switching top hats.
  15. No more smoke screen and drive shaft is back in. Just need to fix the connector for my knock sensor and I'm ready. Oh wait...skid plate too but that's not stopping me. I'll be there this time.
  16. Confirmed. Put the OB springs in if you can.
  17. PCV was stuck. Cleaned it out and the smoke screen is gone. Wish they were all this easy.
  18. Frankenmotor had a mystery oil leak plus some blue smoke. (Leak is an understatement...it was pissing everywhere.) I replaced the valve cover gaskets and the rear oil separator plate now the leak is gone but now it is smoking even worse. It gets better when it warms up but it's still present. Motor sounds healthy except for a tick that sounds like a stuck HLA. Any ideas?
  19. No idea. It's not leaking anymore, just smoking like crazy and it sobs like it has a stuck lifter. Going to pull the Franken motor and put in my spare for now.
  20. That might be a good thing for me since my mystery oil leak has returned. Oil sep plate and valve cover gaskets replaced and is still leaking.
