stuck piston

gross Gary like your style done that before as well most notably in a school buss... but the car in question is at the top of a long and steep and rutted and windy dirt road and it's been raining for days... anyway -- l got the piston out and could have rebuilt it but the useless employes at the Mckrankin franchise couldn't find or didn't have a rebuild kit and the seal got damaged in the extraction so there's a new caliper on there (and the other side got its sliders greased -- which it needed badly) did l mention it was raining and l was in a dirt (that is mud) drive way what fun thanks for the help goat -

yeah l took it apart the slides are ok piston won't comprest... haven't tried pumping it out cuz this is the only car available for driving to the auto parts store... guess I'll buy a caliper and a rebuild kit return the one l don't use thanks goat -

that's what l figured... prefer to rebuild things -- rather than just replace but not this time rotor looks fine... thanks goat -
good day all its been a long time... l'm visiting a a friend and naturaly her car needs work.... it's a 96 legacy l driver side brake caliper is stuck (has been for a while judging by the diferential wear on the pads don't have a shop at my disposal here -- how do l un-stick the piston? or do l just replace it? thanks goat

good day when l did the oil seals and timing belts on my 92 loyale about a year ago l mistakenly took the reservoir off the ps- pump and now it leaks alot l have replaced the o-ring and searched for a gasket to no avail any thoughts or clues thanks goat

good day all its been a while sincel was on here but my sweetys 92 loyale is acting up here is her description: so for a while now the car seems to get stuck in high idle when I start it up and go down a big hill in first and second gear. It revs very high for a bit and then normalizes when I'm on the road in a higher gear. It may be fine all day with no signs of problems, but lately it has been idleing erattically when I am sitting in traffic, higher then lower then higher then lower...etc rapidly. When it is doing this the check engine light comes on, but when I get going again the light turns off and the problem goes away. l've been tryign to serarch but not finding many similar threads... thoughts sugestions places to start thanks goat

thanks ya'll it's an ongoing problem (which is what l meant to imply, by mentioning the po had the same problem) l'll go through the "procedure" 86gl-10trbosdn laid out and report the results.... wont be for a week or so cuz l'm out of town and my lady isnt very mechanically inclined tundrabrat thanks for the offer l'm afraid l'm not who you think l am and am far away in california a garage to work in would be lovely though oh well milesfox teh symptoms you described dont quite match up but l'll ask about that too thanks again goat

the tires are fine old but not unevenly worn..... l'll take a closer look when l get a chance though (out of town at the moment) though l seem to remember my mom complaining of the same thing (the car was hers until fairly recently) thanks goat

good day my 92 loyale feels unsteady/whishy washy not like steering wheel play or drift more like it feels like it wants to slide out while cornering (and not under hard acceleration either) sorry l cant give a better description, it's my ladys car so l dont have much first hand experience she says it feels less bouncy/handles better when in 4wd.... l dont know anything about suspension so how do l go about checking/troubleshooting thanks in advance goat

l re engenered the bracket but just a tiny bit used apiece of gas pipe as a spacer and a (long)bolt nut washer to hold ti in place is working fine and l ran with out said contraption for a while with no ill effects cheers goat

yep cv it is found the leak cleaned it and attempted patching with RTV we'll see if it holds if not l suppose l'll try a split boot any recommendations? also as per my other question about the missing trans oil dip stick the numbers l found on the trans are as follows 464794 AW-TW75F5A2BV so if soemone with the same trans would measure their dip stick and the fill lines that would be great thanks goat

it does seem like axel grease black and sticky there was alot of it on the cross member and l wasnt sure if it was from the previous oil leak (got the car with the oil leak cuz the po didnt want to deal with it) and l pressure washed it the fire wall and cat stayed clean till it got driven cross state then then towards the end of the drive there were weird swishing sounds and when l took a look new splatter l'll look harder at the cv boot (and probably ignore it til it starts making dry noises) l dont know which tranny it is 5 speed manual l'll look for numbers next time l get a chance (it's my lady's car now) thanks goat

well it does seem to have something to do with the cv joint and l cleaned it and drove it and it seems to splatter from the cv joint but the boot seems fine l cant find a hole and isnt the cv boot full of grease? would it be melting or something? also l would love to check the tranny fluid but my dip stick is broken hopefully some one will measure theirs so l can aproximate thanks goat

good ay so l just did the oil seals and timing belts (EA82)(92 loyale) cuz of a massive oil leak which is all good now looks like l should have done the oil pump seals too cuz there is a super minor leak which appears to be from there (though the oil level hasn't dropped according to the dip stick) any way thats not what this post is about there is another leak either out-of or on-to the passenger cv boot it splatters on the fire wall and muffler (or whatever part of the exhaust system is right there) but l can't figure out what it is or where it could be coming from :-\ my best guess is the transmission so l went to check the oil and the dip stick is broken (the handle is there but not the dip part) l'll get one when l get a chance but for now could some one measure their tranny fluid dip stick to tell me how long it is and how far apart the fill lines are so l can check it thanks goat

ya'll are awsome so l put the electric fan back on but it doesn't seem to turn on which l assume means the temp sensor is shot guess l'll have to pull it and test it also my temp gauge doesn't work the sender looks all coroded l tried to clean it to make it make connection but no dice suppose l'll have to test it too till then we are running the clutch fan by the way how are those supposed to work? thanks goat

good day l just did the crankshaft/camshaft oil seals on my 92 loyale in the proscess removed the non functioning air conditioner (as well as the timing belt covers) so much easier to work on now.... any way l took off the electric fan wich appeared to be attached to the air conditioner system (the water pump mounted cooling fan is still there of course) since the electric fan is attached ot the radiator l wanted to make sure that it is only used for the air conditioner and removing it wasnt a problem also, would wiring it to a switch as an auxiliary coolong fan be benificial is any way? thanks goat
