  1. Hi - pleased to meet you!

I can certainly take care of all your Brat needs :o)

The clutch will be about $350 to $400 - I have to check on the price of a kit. I don't use cheap clutch kits - pretty much Exedy and a few other select Japanese brands. Subaru's, and especially EA81's are picky about those.

You can contact me here, or give me a call at 503-880-4084. I'm located in West Linn - near Oregon City, etc on the south end of Portland.

  2. Hello!

I am also in Portland and have a BRAT and was referred to you with my concerns. First off, I have a cancer spot that needs to be addressed and I am worried that my clutch is getting ready to bite the dust. I was quoted 575 for the clutch which in my opinion is high considering a kit only costs about a hundred. Just trying to find a cost effective way to keep the War Pony running. Any advice or info is helpful. Thank you!

  3. The clutch in my BRAT needs to be replaced. I was quoted 575 by a Subaru mechanic here in Portland. That seems high considering the kits only cost 100-120. Does anyone know of a good mechanic who will charge less in the Portland area?
  4. I need to have the clutch repaired on my BRAT. I talked to the mechanic yesterday and was quoted 575. That seems high considering a clutch kit only runs 100-120 dollars. Does anyone know of a good mechanic in the Portland area who will do this for less? Or even better, one who will just install the parts after I buy them. Thanks!

  5. So it appears as though my rust problem started from the inside out. I have a few pictures. I had a hard time getting a good shot of underneath. How do I post pics on here?
  6. Yes, unfortunately it is rusted through. The hole is small but still worrisome.
  7. That makes sense. Thanks for the heads up! I will try to get pictures asap
  8. No, I don't have any pics right now. I took it in to the mechanic to have it looked over so that I could know (after the fact of course) what I was getting myself into and I saw it when it was up on a lift. There is a possibility I could get some in the next couple of weeks though. Also, this guy at the auto parts store was telling me that there is a way to fix it using fiber glass. Does anyone know anything about that?
  9. So, I just bought my BRAT and surprise surprise it's got some pretty bad cancer spots on the undercarriage. I do not know how to weld, nor do I know anyone who can. SO, with that being said, is there a welder out there who can help me, or can anyone give me another alternative to fix these cancer spots? THANK YOU!!!!
  10. Hello! I just purchased my first Subaru! A 1979 BRAT. Love it so far, but am learning that keeping her going and making her look good are going to be a serious labor of love. Any advice/helpful tips are welcome! Thanks! ~LD
  11. I recently purchased a 1979 BRAT and just discovered some cancer spots under the floor board. Can anyone give me an idea how much I will be looking at to fix this? Thank you!!
