I have a tailgate from an '84.

That is '82-'86 style, but I can't gurantee that everything automatically lines up 100% ridiculously perfect, its possible for slight shifts of molds and things changing production years.

I'm really not for sure, I just know when I bolted it on my '83 car it was like 1/4" off on one side. This is possibly because of tweaked bodies on formerly wrecked cars..

I think it will work on your '82 mostly perfect
