  1. yes it should turn on when key is turned on and when cranked chage pump if any doubt at all be very carfull as the plastic spigots are very *********ile and break easyly pump is under bum of ps rear seat
  2. oil pump shaft seal same problem as ea82 is caused by oil geting airated change the oil pump shaft seal orinrg and micky mouse oring and should be fixed

  4. Have a customer was trying to sell me one from 92 turbo leg i had no use for it but was good and cheap he still has it was a pull type clutch
  5. oh and they moved the fwd fuse to under hood fuse box on later models is clearly marked in fuse box
  6. front diff pinion or awd tranfer gears had one that rear diff had siezed and broke pinion when it broke it took teeth of awd tranfer gears sounded like what your explning the awd gears still worked but bang bang bang in deaqd center of car.When the front diff go's it makes noise in same place becasue the diff is linked to the rwd and the fwd trough the awd tranfer gears. take off diff end of drive shaft and make shure it turns smothly in trans end no tight spots or grinding.
  7. check cam timing if runs differnt than before bent valve is it roler valve train ? if so bent valves if not timing out one tooth make a hudge differance or bad plugs but doubt it
  8. valves are not to badly priced 8 intake and 8 exhaust everyone iv'e seen loose belt gets evry valve bummer probly the coged idler pully failed and sent ball berrings trough evrything
  9. I bet its a mecanical problem no amounts of cleaners will fix a mecanical problem. In a 1000 ea82s have never seen a stuck valve ever have seen many hydrlic lifter problems droped guides bent valves nuts on top of pistons even with smashed pistons valves still worked fine I even had one that was sugared and it had sugar glue on valves but dident stick i whould check guide heght to see if droped guide.
  10. dam your lucky thiss could have beed fatal mistake glad you found it are you useing a high preshure fillter ? a burst fillter in air whould be catasrofic make shure its high prshure fillter and lines even if carbed as preshures may change with altutdue i whould check the injector screens for debries and clean them.
  11. yes use a valve grinder to nip the ends of valves i have one setup for thiss job specificaly u may not find enuff of the right bukets because the thin ones are hard to find so you may have to do some math and order some bucket shims or have a machine shop with valve grinder help you i'm shure you could modify a bench grinder or drill bitt sharpener to work as long as valve is strait on and fixed position
  12. i do it not running because air gets traped make shure you have the rad vent cap open on right side of rad top fill trough the rad cap till comes out vent cap with no bubbles helps to have the front end up a bitt takes some time fill wait fill wait it may have a slight bitt of air in heater is ok when your confedent you have most of the air out run it with caps on till rad gets hot and fans cycle then shut off let cool down and recheck rad level should hold about 6 L of coolant if still haveing problems with heater gentaly losen the top heater hose so it leaks a bitt will alow air out [not runnig ]

  13. yours is 2wd gets done like a us rwd front wheel just tite and back off a hair lock nut with tabs make shure spins freely the not should not be tight it just hold berrings in place make shure the tab washer is in good shape i whould buy new ones from dealer anyway as they are uhasly in bad shape and not very exspensive
  14. the bigest cause of bad milage i see is from miss matched tire preshure very picky standard is worse 35 psi front and 32 psi rear to compensate for engine wheght. A ten psi differance will pull your milage down also no exhaust leaks at all any leaks = bad milage mabee o2 senser
  15. how many subaru engines do you guys build in a year ? do you do your own boring and surfacing ? I have no sorurce for the 05 and up engines had a customer was looking for a 2.5 b from 2009 sti have any? had to send him to dealer cause his engine was not rebiuldable. There are very few subaru engines avalible through the werckers round here and they go for big bucks a used ej251 go's for 2500-3100$ with a 3 month waranty and there sold out and couldent find one on there satalite serach.
  16. is it still ticking did you stretch the springs thats the right place? its a pain to get to but worth it will also boost the oil preshure to bottom end. Yes cant spell or use putuation worth crap but hey i dont hide it. Not a lot of grammer uesd in fixing subaru moters. Make shure you give your engine some time to run it may take a drive or a while to get all the air out of oil.
  17. i get it from doing subaru engines for 16 years have done thowsands of subaru engines and always from day one fill not running always thats why it takes time the air will come to top running engine just airates coolant and makes a mess and knowing exactly how mutch coolant the system holds helps to i never get air locks or fill problems
  18. 2.0 make me sick what a waste of time useless moters good for crank and heads [ no replacement for displacement ] i see thiss evrytime a big block kicks my subarus rump roast 502 bb aginst 2.5 subaru is a good example mind you i'm only 2 seconds of there time
  19. the pcv is only as good as the vacume the engine makes subaru ones are better of corse but you can use a aftermarket ones to tune idle some alow more vacume than others but as far as a problem i think it whould make no differance in performance i find cleaning the pcv hoses makes more differance than changing the pvc valve
  20. fixing bad rod angle so far the best fix is a 2.2 crank in the 2.5 block drops the piston a bitt witch alows for planing of block and heads and lowers the comp and gets rid of the over center rod angle thiss engine will last with very good reliability its a little bitt less power but way stronger and can run low octane gas with no ping the customer dident feel any differance at all other than thiss engine ran alot smoother than the stock one
  21. sitting on 4 lsds have two turbo legacy ones and two rx posis gold gold gold cant get enuff of them
  22. strait down from master cly valve with 3 brake lines to it and a cable that gos to clutch fork when clutch is pushed and car is on incline the hill holder will hold car on hill for you
