I put a 1/4 inch brass washer behind the reverse idler gear to prevent it kicking forward and only grabing half the gear was a DR problem have seen many reverse gone and many more that pop out the reason it pops out is cause the reverse idler kicks forward and only grabs half the teeth on the rverse drive gear witch wears the teeth on a 45 and makes it realy want to pop out until it rips the one side of teeth off. Took many hour to figure this repair out and is proven fix on my own cars and many more. I reverse shim all five speeds up to 99 when they fixed case

BRATMAN to the rescue ! -
If it says twin cam on valve covers NO if dosent say twin cam on covers yes. Is not a simple or easy job and you need a asortment of shims I addjust the valves when the heads are off for reheadgasketing by grinding the end of valve till clearance is exactly right each valve x 16 takes time. In car is perty mutch hopless can be done i ahve done it but very tight space and shims are tough to get at. Sign of to tight valve will be uneven pulses out the tail pipe poo poo poo should be even pulses and no poping if so leave it alone. till time to do headgaskets

Should be a plastic vacume storage tank on fenderwell vacume to tank then to 4x4 soiliniond used long plastic lines just below the valance one side is 4x4 on one side is 4x4 off the vacume storage tank is important or will drop out of 4x4 under long accerations as engine makes low vacume at full trottle apps
