  1. I built a tool to compress the spring in position so can slip follower out and change lifter without teardown sitting in my tool box unused for 6 years now
  2. Take off top of carb and unscrew them doubt is you problem check intake gaskets are they factory subaru only ? also check that choke is pulling off and idle curcit in carb have had luck putting my hand over the top at high rpms thiss will stall it but pulls the crap outa the bottom of carb may have to do it more than one time but seems to work on old hitachis
  3. one more the feul pump wont turn on unless ecu gets crank signal to tell realy to cycle
  4. check timing belt and posibble crank senser failure dose the engine sound right when cranking ? spark ? are the main power feeds in under hood fuse box ok black fuse wire is main fuse 80 amp s
  5. Go big or go home is way cool to have control over system wonder what the max we could throw at it whould be? Anyway runs totaly different than before and seems to get feul properly now
  6. time oil light max 1 second from startup will tell you how good bottom end is
  7. I put a 100 amp mitsubishi alt on my 81 brat used the choke wire as eciter wire came off 86 caravan with 2.6 mitsubishi engine works very good think reg is unpluged
  8. stuck injector try a differnt one have seen them stick faily often
  9. ej 2.5 turbo turned into stroker 2.7 wreaked two this season already
  10. ea82 lifters good for 300000kms no porblems oil pump seals change every 100000kms or when it starts ticking
  11. Hlas stuck wide open relase the oil preshure by removing hla and pushing in the ball on bottom and pumping the oil out at same time then can start with them down all the way and let them addjust
  12. No speedo no rpms default is about 4500 -3500 rpms fix spedo and good to go the ecu needs vss to know when car is moving and will not give full rpms untill spedo is working
  13. Duke pull drain plug look for teeth or meatal bitts on magnet also have seen the pin shear on shift fork and fork slip out of shifter slots inside trans all other gears work ?
  14. I have got super good at filing the syicros just right can be made to shift very good but must set the angles and debur it just right then shifts great. Have rebiult at least 50 of them now also have been hording DR cores have 15 now also install a 1/4 inch reverse shim behind the reverse idler this will make reverse 70 % stronger I use a brass washer 1/4 thick prevents reverse kickout
  15. Line preshure soiliniod have line preshure check done see if its at spec any trans shop can do this
  16. ok is it posibble that the vacume lines to the map are pluged restricted or one way valve backwards do you get clean vacume to map ? darn is to bad so far away oh well keep pluging away the problem will show its self
  17. I use the soiliniods from newer outback/legacy do the same job but way tougher use 2.5d egr soiliniod

  19. The last race engine had 3 bent rods and two smashed pistons did 2 passes like that bent rods dont seem to slow them down mutch
