so after mutch debate the boys covinced me to switch to NA platform figure the turbo and NOS are killing it so non turbo with more nos. By removing the turbo takes of about 45-60 lbs of engine weight and give way more room around engine also now can putt a ton of nos on it will see how this setup works sounds nasty and instant revs. will it make close to the same power ? no idea will see

79 GL Wagon front end crunch-need some parts
ivans imports replied to def's topic in Historic Subaru Forum: 50's thru 70's
what parts ? have some sounds like gen 1 to me four round headlights? -
My favrot is still the justy 2dr fits into spots that no other 4x4s can go fold the miriors in and go past the posts trees rocks ect not mutch for clearance but easy to get unstuck and very capabble i drove mine on the loose sand around the cement blocks that blocked the beach. No other car or truck whould have been small and light enuff to go there backed right up to edge of water lose wet sand and drove away without spining tires. It just shows dont have to spend money to have a good 4x4 and dosent have to be extreme offroad to go were no one else can get to.

I still think is a tail shaft difference -
Had six here thiss week one 340000kms next one 300400kms anuther with 480000kms and 320000kms 404000kms one at 270000kms and 425000kms havent seen one under 250000kms in long time around here a low milage outback is under 300000kms Mind you I have done ether headgaskets or motors on most. But they do seem to last longer if driven every day the ones that sit break. The one with 480000kms i did heads at 420000kms and told her no idea how long it will last but still going ! and the engine was one of the cleanest and nicest inside iv'e seen. One owner driven every day 500kms or better. Having me close by probly helps lots to

drill the intake bolt holes biger theres some room there -
Must use thick headgaskets also must modify the tetioner as it will not have enuff room now i take the bracket fo it and drill the 3 holes biger so can move braket up to give more room for tentioner. Also the round pin that it sitts agiant i trim the bottom side flat by doing these two things the belt will not be to tight if not problems. Other than that i think there may be oil flow retrictions on twincam heads that are not on single cam heads this may cerate a oil preshure / flow problem. The two engines may flow oil diferently as one is end thrust and one is center. There is tiny oil retrictors in the pasage on twin cam heads

i belive the tail shaft is longer on ea81 trans but cant remember -
The buggy gose were side by sides fall over on there sides and have not found anything that will stop it yet exept MPI nos lol but crazy cappable can do a 90 degre side hill at speed And if the front dosent hitt the front it will climb it Even will plane axross water if you hit it fast enuff. Have been out with many offroaders strait axle means slow axle cappable and strong but not as fast The buggy is capabble of extreme offroad speeds 100 + kms over any terain but HANG ON for dear life and never lift ever !
