EJ22T after swap problems. Fuel cut at 3 to 5 lbs of boost.
ivans imports replied to Steve W.'s topic in Subaru Retrofitting
Remember the AF ratio reads backwards a lean signal ecu adds feul a ritch signal ecu reduces feul. anyway on my rig going from a turbo wire harness to a na harness gave me about 60 % more and no bs feul cuts boost cuts or crappy ecus i think those years of turbo harneses were poopy and gave greiff 92 na harness 5 speed seems to work best. Somthing with the map /boost senser / turbo wastegate controler they all worked togther well were supposed to anyway to complacated to tune -
Cheaper for me to get somone down there to buy them and ship them up to me somdays its hard to live in the middle of nowere and only having 2 parts supplyers sucks is gillbert or lordco and thats it and nether deals with hp parts
-
Is it posibble the car was sugared in the tank mabee before you bought it ? that whould do it make shure you drain out the feul and check it have seen this wreak engine after engine before sugar in tank was found. Just a thought. Any signs of overheating ? melted parts low coolant stinky coolant or oil mabee airlocked and overheated it

Switching ECM - turbo and non-turbo
ivans imports replied to SubieRXNor's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
the turbo ecu changed in late 87 if both theese are before that should interchange. I have ten ea82 85-86 gl 10 black ecus have used the mpi na one in place of turbo one as long as before 87 -
i dident i run a 4eat is only way to hold the power thiss is not how mines biult is how i wish it was biult a'm finding that is to heavy the trans is 450 lbs makes for heavy buggy. But is very tough was pushing 350 hp. Is good to get as many peoples imput as you can becuse veryone thinks differently. If you look up its buggy time agian thread has lots of pics. Mines a bitt extreme as it has to be dragrace approved 5 ponit harness roll cage ect and i have to wear fire suit helmet and neck brace and arm restraints to race.

was run without oil in it bet he ran it before he put oil in. coolant even if was many L would not seize motor would just make milky oil have seen ea81 run with 3 L of coolant in oil no problems even if it got hot whould just loose comp and turn easyer was ran with no oil ! is only way to seize it. In the 16 years i have been fixing subarus only ever seen one seized ea81 was run with oil preshure senser broken off still took 20 min with no oil to stop. anyway try a diferent shop. Trying to go after the guy who did it how he was ligitimitly trying his best to help if he did his best what more could you ask for.he just dident know or care but is buyer beware. I dont think it whould stand up in court

so what is the fianal boost preshure ? -
I did a reverse run in buggy was only 5 seconds 300+ hp and smoked the backside of pinon not ment to drive backwards ruined trans. I think you are looking in the wrong direction put a subie diff front end setup in front subie diff suspention in the back one commen drive shaft to conect them. Then a 300+ two stroke sled engine clutch drive to the commen drive shaft no trans to worry about and can ramp the motor in reverse whould be a trick but who gos backwards anyway oh wait I do just a thought try and get your ideas going !

the sensers and ecu working voltage range is about 13-14.5 volts if it gets down below 12 starts to loose signals operations spark gets weak injector pulse gets weak ect takes alot of voltage to run all that stuff. Anyway alt voltage no less than 13.5 no more than 14.5 anything over 15 bad under 13 bad
