I also think distributor has to ground to block a coroded diss could cause this sounds like lost signal to tell ecu to fire injector timing belt ? -
check height of hla bore sleaves they like to lift out of heads and hangup lifters should all be same height and about 0.50 mm above head surface also check bore for scratches on topside of pistons. and look for carbon at bottom of valve stem were it gos up into the giude like to carbon at bootom and somtimes will not let valve close all the way at same time look for droped guides should all be same height

There is only so mutch room for addjustment I mean as tighter is better within reason I find that less clearance makes them faster to come on to tight could be problem to on the race buggy i set it at 0 clearance and full line preshure to clutchpack just for racing. I have had to go back in and reset clearance on center diffs that had to mutch clearance whould take 2 or 3 turns of front wheel before rear whould come on titen up clearance and awd right now the front should not spin at all awd should be instant

we ran a brbq tank upside down in back

Had one race that broke a rear axle on launch and went sidways the whole pitt but stayed in bounds that whould have been better with long wheel base. The wheel base is same length as width its a square the handling is very good very stable at high speeds and over any tereran i can turn hard lock at any speed and it just turns its all i can do to lift one wheel of ground. Also removing the front brakes helped alot when i hit brakes now it pulls it strait instantly i also changed rear brake calipers yesterday to the larger 90up toyota 4 piston fixed calipers gave me about 25% more holdback. As for the plug in intake is just to plug holes and get people to ask questions was going to put a wire on it for fun anyway just pluging holes

i set them up as tight as i can get them if to loose awd will be slugish and when they are new they are fairly tight make shure you change the slip rings on tailshaft output and check for groves in housing you can also air check the awd clutchpack by puting it in its housing and puting air thru the circut and watch the clutchpack a few apps might losten it up

The burr will be on the top of the meatal syncro on the highest point of the tooth were it makes contact with brass syncro -

pull the detent spring and ball out on 3rd 4th shift fork and try working the shifter with out it in will give it less resistance and you may be able to work it out of gear carfull to not move it to far have fixed it this way before -
